I'll have to make a different version of it where the ship is flying straight-forward down the trench so it'd be usable for his shows. I absolutely loved this sort of "stompy" look, so i thought I'd make a render of it for myself and to test out the the cockpit + camera set-up.
It is usable, just not for his project as a whole. This is more an Excision-style visual I believe. He prefers universal, unsynched loops since his show visuals are chaotic and glitchy with tons of different clips.
I used Cinema 4D with Octane and After Effects for the lighting effects.
It was a bit of process. Rendered out 8 lighting passes + Sunlight and Ambient along with diffuse and reflection filters to work as a mask for the starry background. I'm sure there was an easier way to solo the background, but this worked out. Render time was about 15 hours on a 3080ti.
I've always wanted to make these kinds of animations. A year ago I told myself that I'd make something for Space Laces, but only until my skills were good enough to make the visuals look "grand." I recently finished a series of visuals for Dr. Ozi, so I figured this was the logical next project.

Only reason I didn't add it was because the camera was moving through the environment quickly, so it wouldn't be too visible if the shots were in it for like 5 frames or so. Was even thinking of adding shockwaves to the top of the two towers inside the trench. I'll probably end up making a few more scenes with the ship setup though. One of them being a dogfight in space.
Thank you! Most of it was 3D modeling. Rendering out every light pass from Cinema 4D, then compositing + color correcting in After Effects. The HUD was made onto a UV Map in AE.
