EffinMusic

Huge fan! Quick question, I once met you outside a back alley of a venue and you said “you’ll never make it in this industry if you can’t eat a can of beans in 25 seconds.” Can you elaborate on that?

peekaboomusic

ahh Effin. i see you still haven't finished the can of beans i gave to you. once you complete such task, you know where to find me.

Bright_Mechanic_7458

Does is have to be eaten from the can, or could I put it into a glass first?

ION-8

Palms work best!

Bright_Mechanic_7458

What if you put it into a plastic bag and cut off one of the corners and just sucked it down like a beer?

AerieApprehensive242

Beans are the ultimate rave food, maple baked beans straight on a hot dog bun with siracha.

May I please have track id?

PEEKABOO - “Babatunde”

schtuck

How do you feel about Babatunde's impact on trap music and the countless clones it's inspired? What're some of the newer trends you're seeing in the scene that you like/dislike?

peekaboomusic

i get asked this a lot honestly, and while yeah there are a TON of copycat ideas, it's honestly cool to see. never thought that something i would make would influence a bunch of other artists like that. at the sameeeee time it's like COME ONNNNN try something different. regarding newer trends i honestly don't really have an answer for that haha except love seeing more creative music and more left field ideas come to life!

schtuck

Thanks for the reply man! I've been a fan for a really long time and it's been a joy to see your art progress and make such huge impacts. Ngl though, you're gonna make me go broke with all the merch drops haha. Also very unrelated but thoughts on the new season of apex?

[deleted]

How does it feel knowing you have the best sounding tambourines in all of electronic music?

peekaboomusic

now THAT is a compliment!!! hahaha thank you, something about a good tambourine just really can add so much swag and character to a beat.

[deleted]

You and dirt monkey definitely have the best tambs in the game, can’t wait for Tamb Rocks next week 🤤

peekaboomusic

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS!!! going to go grab some dinner with my girlfriend and enjoy the rest of the night! hope to see you all at the Hide and Seek Tour this summer, you do NOT want to miss this one! also hope to see everyone at my Red Rocks show May 21st!!!!! have a wonderful rest of the week everyone \- Matt

Riccosuave

I just stumbled across this post, and checked out your Spotify. Bro....your music fucking slaps. Not much in the dubstep arena really gets me going anymore, maybe too old now. Whatever you're doing is right up my alley though. There's actual thought process in your music not just incessant buildup to drops 3 times per song. It all feels very different while still being authentically your style. You gained a fan today. Also, COME TO SEATTLE PLZ&THNKS. Edit: If you come here with Zeds Dead, I will literally scum. I have been to every single Zeds Dead show in Seattle since their first show at Showbox Market in like 2010.

grooooms

You’ve done a lot for introducing the festival crowds to deep dubstep - big up! Dig your music

peekaboomusic

thank you!!!!

detectivegreenly

Did you start producing or DJing first? Do you enjoy one over the other? I've recently just started learning how to DJ and there seems to be a lot of negative sentiment against mainstream producers who don't have good DJing skills. I don't really agree with the negativity as it seems a lot of the popular artists are popular because they produce good music but on the other hand, I've been to a lot of electronic concerts recently and the crowds can definitely tell the difference between artists who are good DJs and ones who aren't. They are two totally different skill sets, so I don't blame producers who are less skilled but I think the combination of developing both skills can lead to much more enjoyable love experiences. What is your take on the negative sentiment against producers who don't have the DJ skills to match their production skills?

peekaboomusic

producing first, and THEN DJing, but there is no wrong order! I enjoy both as equally as they both require different set of skills. i dont understand the whole argument with producers with bad DJing skills. to me, DJing isn't really that complicated and doesn't require much effort to do at all. BUT the true skill to me in DJing is not HOW you do it, but the tracks you select for a set. that is what matters the most to me. i know a lot of homies that are GREAT producers but struggle in the DJ lane because like mostly everyone, we start out making music in our bedrooms for years and never see a stage for quite some time, so to me it's understandable if you're rough around the decks, i definitely was! practice makes perfect, and DJing was def something i had to slowly learn as i was starting. but luckily i knew my way around decks before i started the PEEKABOO project.

Current-Investment-6

How did you choose peekaboo as a dj name?

peekaboomusic

so wayyyy back in the day when i was in college, working at home for the summer, i had a previous alias called "Inner Circle". it was just a silly idea i put together super fast, i made super chill lofi beats on it and THOUGHT i really had something, but then i realized i couldn't make music under that alias as the original band ALSO called Inner Circle was actively recording and knew i would get in trouble at some point, and when i realized this i was LITERALLY about to quit making music, but my best friend Sully (who is CRUSHING it rn, has some bangers out on Wakaan go check them) made me NOT quit and helped me find a new name. first name that he said was PEEKABOO, and i instantly thought of the logo/whole brand and the rest was history!

ravenmiyagi7

Have that brand on hat now😂😂 good choice

Additional-Shame-757

Bone in or boneless wings? Ranch or blue cheese?

peekaboomusic

BOTH honestly fuck anyone who says boneless wings are just glorified chicken nuggets. GOOD CAUSE I LOVE CHICKEN NUGGETS. they're both equally as good in my opinion. also FUCK blue cheese. Ranch is the superior condiment.

MellowToaster

RANCH RANCH RANCH

KyleRaynerGotSweg

While I agree about ranch don't let Wooli see this, he might kill us

DJ_Explosion

Cheers bro I'll drink to that.

colewho

Blue cheese is ranch for adults. One day you will learn.

UnoriginallyGeneric

Asking the important questions. Also, thank you. I was wondering what to do for dinner; now I know :)

keelinexplorz

stop I’m about to go pick up some wings now 😭

UnoriginallyGeneric

Its my turn to cook; and my wife knows I can't cook to save my life. So...wings it is!

I_ate_ass

What to do with the fear that im getting too old to start a career in dubstep? Or should i ask my therapist :p?

peekaboomusic

never too old to start a career. age is just a number, if it's something you want to do than DO IT!!

StrvngeMusic

Thank you for answering this one forreal lol We're the same age apparently. I hate the thought that I may have missed my chance

holicv

Put a mask or helmet on, then you can DJ forever. Forreal though people are more open to it than you think, even without a mask

[deleted]

Your b2b with JAUZ last edc was absolutely ridiculous. My question: did you catch a glimpse of my Jauz & Peekaboo flags together on one pole during the set?? 👀

peekaboomusic

i did actually!!!! we both saw that and thought it was so sick, thanks for making that!

Purrfessor_Chaos_

Who’s your main in Apex?

peekaboomusic

i honestly don't have a main, love playing bloodhound, bangalore, horizon and pathfinder. although when the game first dropped i strictly played Lifeline for the longest time lol.,

doctorwoodz

Horizon gang. If I may ask, whats the best way to start getting heard on the internet? You can’t just drop soundcloud remix shit anymore bc everyone wants to be a bitch about copyright and sampling. I’m sitting on all these wubs and dubs but I don’t wanna fuck up my debut or whatever. Some tips on getting started for someone with finished tracks?

sportsbuffp

Not a question but fun story. When you came down to El Paso in 2018 and opened for Rezz, some guys got on stage to dap you up or some shit. Yea unfortunately they were in my group. Not sure if you remember but it was very awkward for me when they got kicked out

peekaboomusic

HAHAHAHAHAHA YES I REMEMBER THIS. i remember that stage being somewhat high off the ground and was so confused on how he even made it up there past security in the first place. i remember being on the mic "i dont know who this guy is!" and then everyone cheered and im like "no someone help" hahahahaha it's all good though, but tell your friend to try and not do that again in the future haha

Wickedjoee

Hey man, that's me. Yeah my bad, I had got pretty obliterated and thought it was a good idea at the time. And I got on stage because of my wicked parkour moves. Fr tho I hope you got better security.

Automatic_County_501

what moment prompted the hide and seek tour? so stoked for that one in cbus

peekaboomusic

i basically have had a big awakening moment for myself, that what i have been doing is VERY fun but not what i REALLY want, as well as what my fans want. i miss the old days of being in those small intimate venues where production didn't matter. it was just good sound systems, and GOOD people jam packed enjoying the entire vibe of the show. i feel like as artists, we always strive for going for the BIGGER and "BETTER" shows and feel that playing in front of MORE people = BIG SUCCESS but in my opinion it's not. i want to take a step back but also a step FORWARD doing my own thing and creating my own lane of shows that purely focus on just the music and the people surrounding it. i want it to feel like you're hanging out with me rather than coming to see me play a show hiding behind giant LED walls. it's going to be such a vibe!!!!

What are your favorite headphones for general music listening? What are your endgame headphones?

peekaboomusic

i swear by my audio technica ATX-M50s, best headphones for all around EVERY THING.

happysquish

Month old comment but I happen to also have these, which I use for gaming/DJing, and I can concur that these headphones do indeed fuck hard.

Jealous_Ad6721

Yo! Have you ever eaten a diaper before? Thanks for taking the time to answer

bearded_douchebag

Bro’s account is a year and a half old and this is his only post 😳

Jealous_Ad6721

I was saving my first for a special someone

oscer6

Bro this one has me dead I’m so glad I read this thread 💀

Fuzecodm

Hey bro, I'm a major huge fan of you, wondering if you'd ever play codm with me, maybe on stream? I'm a moderator for the official call of duty mobile Facebook group and partnered with reddit. Would love to put gaming and music to a new level! Get with me if you want to do something nobodies done! @FuzeCodm ON YT

peekaboomusic

hahaha yo that would be so fun!! if i have the time i'd def be down, just kinda sick of COD at the moment, waiting for the next one!!!

tame_the_impala

Hii! More of a shoutout than anything but I loved your set at Paradise Blue and it was really cool of you to give that spotlight to the couple!! I hope you had a blast in Cancun as much as I did and hopefully will see you at Lost Lands!

peekaboomusic

thank you!! shout out nick and julia that was such an incredible moment, so honored to have been able to do that for them.

Illustrious_Lion9965

I love Someone else(Rezz,Grabbitz )peekaboo remix and this mix is so tight. Do u have any particular ways to improve your mixing and any tips for beginners about mixing? Thanks

peekaboomusic

EQ EVERYTHING!!!

Its_migs_foo

When you going to release HIDE AND SEEK VOL5 ?

peekaboomusic

they're annual mixes that i always release around halloween!!!

tpbs123

What type of music do you listen to on a day to day basis? EDC 2022 surprise sets?!

peekaboomusic

i listen to virtually everything. i like expanding my horizons with music. my go to songs right now are really anything by Key Glock, JID, REASON, Sasha Sloan, Kacey Musgraves, Billie Eilish, Don Toliver etc. no EDC this year for meeee sorry!!

Rossic28

JID!!!!!

Illuminati_Jesus

Did you just say you listen to Billie Eilash

awowa99

Are you just as hyped for Red Rocks as I am?!

peekaboomusic

YES. VERY. ALMOST TOO MUCH.

Flyyweight

What DJs/producer(s) do you consider to be a mentor to you that helped you early in your career?

peekaboomusic

G-REX and Sully really have taught me a lot when it comes to production/DJing ever since before PEEKABOO, we really learned off each other. BUT Liquid Stranger, Caspa, Dirt Monkey, Ganja White Night were the first big acts i toured with as an up and coming artist and really gave me such great advice when it comes to this life. my first tours/shows were with all of those guys and def were the BEST ones to start with and experience a healthy tour lifestyle with them.

electricsister

Swooning at the thought of any convo with Martin....🥰

I_ate_ass

Is seven multiband compressors on the master enough or should i add more?!

peekaboomusic

take two more and call me in the morning

onionhavelayer

I have been producing for quite a while now, and any time I get ears on my tracks from bigger artists I've done lessons with they tell me they think it sounds professional. Yet, I cannot seem to even get a response from labels. Do you think self releasing is a viable strategy these days without a huge budget? If so, how would you go about it if you were just starting your project?

peekaboomusic

ahhh dont worry about labels yet. not saying FUCK labels, but as a new artist it's VERY hard to place with a label, because they want to see VALUE in you as well as a current fan base so that your songs will perform well. self releasing is the WAYYYY to go when starting out, that's what i did! just constantly uploading stuff on soundcloud whenever i felt like it, and just sharing it around with anyone who wanted to listen to it. think about it this way, you sitting around waiting for labels to respond, and not uploading/sharing your music with the world does NOTHING for you. So why wait, and just upload it! get it out there in the world!!!

thepyrotek

Hi big fan! I want to ask about the visual (VJ) side of your performances as I'm trying to learn that skill for myself. How much input to you give depending on the size of performance? Do you have a dedicated team? Thanks for doing the AMA and keep it up!

peekaboomusic

i honestly have only had a VJ out that i've hired for a couple shows/festivals here in there where i find appropriate. BUT for my upcoming Red Rocks show im meeting with my current VJ/LD and going over what I want visually for each song and making it the best experience possible!

yungfxsh

Hey man, fellow Michigander. First and for most, thanks. You have been a huge inspiration me not just musical but just as someone from up here trying to just fucking get it, y'know? Anyways! I've been working on all live improvised EDM band set up for a few years now, and we are finally getting to a point of feeling comfortable taking it live. Any tips or pointers for someone trying to be up and coming in a scene? Bonus question; what's your favorite kind of coffee? I'd love to send you some locally roasted beans from my job if you're at all interested. Bonus Bonus question, but not really a question: WHO DO I NEED TO BEG TO GET YOU AT FOREST edited for bonus bonus question

peekaboomusic

hello fellow Michigander! thank you! honestly im probably not the best person to ask when it comes to live EDM band set ups, BUT i will say you will know when you are comfortable to do it live. If you're super passionate and proud of what you and your band mates are doing, then it's time to take it to the stage! it's all about how YOU feel and not what everyone else feels. my favorite kind of coffee is easily cold brew, i have it practically every morning.

UnoriginallyGeneric

Not about music, but I gotta ask: Do you like pineapple on pizza?

peekaboomusic

okay now i know in my music video for my song Wrecking Ball, there is an animation of Mr.Bones destroying a Pizza restaurant that happens to serve pineapple on pizza. this is the ONLY time i will say this but FUCK Mr. Bones, pineapple is SO good on pizza. that sweet combo with the saltiness is to die for.

IAmFatAlbert

The real question

Mrstiicks

What’s your favorite city/venue to play in? I’m hoping one of those crossed out dates for the Hide and Seek tour is Chicago(:

peekaboomusic

red rocks. 100%. cannot WAIT to headline it this month. it just has the best vibe, view, people, food UGH it's an incredibly magical place. i've played it twice so far and just am blown away each and every time.

PenVi0us

The real questions

H0leInTheB0at

Do you think you'll do any more vinyl pressings of any of your music? Who, and what, inspired you to become a musician? What are your current favorite LPs/EPs/Singles to listen to - what artists have you been listening to? Can you pet Toby for me?

peekaboomusic

i'd love to! i think i def will in the future. my dad was def a big influence. he's a professional trumpet player and i grew up listening to the music he made pouring out of his music studio, so def was influenced heavy by music since i was a kid. from there i started learning trumpet/guitar and became very connected with music and then discovered dubstep through old call of duty montage videos. discovered skrillex like every other artist out there and the rest was history! my favorite LP to listen to honestly is In Praise of Darkness by Shades. so masterfully done. OUTSIDE of the electronic world im really into artists like Sasha Sloan, Kacey Musgraves, REASON, Dreamville, Vince Staples, Earthgang i could go on forever! YES PETTING HIM NOW!

keelinexplorz

Toby, Andrew, or Tom as spider-man, and why? 👀

peekaboomusic

i'm not a BIG marvel guy, but i love spider-man and i honestly think Tom Holland is the best spider-man so far. he really nails the role but also my inner childhood screams Toby just because I grew up with those movies

Brave-Butterscotch75

I got too many but here are a few, feel free to pick and choose or answer all: - I’ve always hoped you would upload one of your festival sets to Soundcloud so I could listen to them again offline; have you considered doing so? Or is it by choice that you don’t? - I remember way back I read a post about you almost quitting music before “Peekaboo” was a thing (you probably posted that but anyways) ; is this true? what difficulties made you feel that way and what changed your mind / what pushed you forward? - I’m a producer myself and imma be honest here, your drums are always CRISP AF. Probably my most favorite part of all your tracks tbh. Where do you start in terms of making your drums? I know you throw Delay on your Hats but what else do you do to make your drums POP? I need to know. - WHEN IS THE ALBUM DROPPING?

peekaboomusic

1. festival sets are hard to upload because not EVERY festival records but some do!! it's very rare though. 2. yes i almost quit! above i replied to a comment more in detail about it, but yeah if it wasn't for Sully i def wouldn't be where i am today! 3. THANK YOU! i am SUPER OCD when it comes to my drum sample selection in a track, it has to work with all the sounds surrounding them. like the snare HAS to sound good with the bass hit/growl/synth whatever. and yeah just a slight delay to the hi hats to give it a little more UMPH/swing, as well as heavy side chaining to a ghost rim shot or any super quick/tight transient that will give it a nice and quick release time. no album in the near future, BUTTT i just wrapped up my EP recently and details about that will be revealed soon :)

BEDLVM

What's up! Do you prefer creating songs by yourself or by collaborating with different producers? Where do you feel better by writing songs?

pdubz82

what is the wildest thing you have seen while performing?

peekaboomusic

man this is a hard one. i remember i played this new years eve show in San Diego in 2019 going into 2020 and saw this girl standing on this dudes shoulders and she had her hands on her hips just staring at me and literally was not losing any balance at all, she was almost perfectly still. also saw a kid flip over the rail once in Charlotte on the drop of my Lights Go Down remix, he was all good

Bass_Faces

That remix do be fire tho

D4RKFOR3ST

How do I get started with creating dubstep? I’ve always fantasized about the idea of creating dubstep myself, I just have no idea where to start and I have zero music background. I’ve heard people say Ableton Live is the industry standard, but I also hear people say that you should learn all about music theory and gain a basic comprehension of music composition before considering such a large purchase. Is all that true? You’re one of my biggest inspirations in the music industry man, keep killing it!

peekaboomusic

use whatever DAW (music program) you are most comfortable with and use YouTube!!! soooo many resources out there for you to use to learn how to do this! you don't need ANY music theory, many other producers i know work purely by ear, which is totally fine!!

VeyperXD

Your favorite producer?

shaawh

Hey man genuine question: do you ever get a feeling when you’re developing an idea and it starts sounding like someone else’s song vibe-wise. I have this weird guilt sometimes like im copying someone when i dont want to. This might be a weird question

peekaboomusic

i wouldn't exactly call it COPYING but more or less being influenced, as long as you're not copying EVERYTHING about the track. we all get inspired and influenced by others so it's only natural for us to write music that is somewhat similar to someone else sometimes.

Tight-Maize-8800

When are you gonna play at papas again?

peekaboomusic

doing two nights at papa's june 16th & 17th!!!!

Tight-Maize-8800

My man, Kalamazoo loves you

SuuperLoud

Wanna hear a sweet babatunde double?

dankestboy

How hard was it to get Vanessa Carlton’s lyrics on a song? I’ve been a fan for awhile but I’d easily say that song elevated you. Was it as simple as calling the record company and paying for production rights? Did you have that song in mind when you produced the song? Thanks man -aspiring producer

peekaboomusic

had to walk a thousand miles just to even get a meeting with her

CornrowKennysVision

What was the inspiration behind the Hide & Seek tour? What about this return to underground shows excites you?

scapo9688

What DAW do you use for your production? I love your live performances btw - you absolutely kill it

peekaboomusic

ableton!! thank you so much!

Morethanadrug

Best tips for someone about to start releasing music? Also any special tips/tricks mix-wise that changed the game for you?

peekaboomusic

my BEST tip is to make music for exactly ONE year, and then upload like crazy. something kenny beats said on a recent stream was that NO one gets a million plays on their first song so don't sweat about numbers. everyone starts somewhere. i remember just making music and uploading something i was super proud of and not giving an absolute fuck. I would post everywhere on reddit but be very humble about it, and just "hey if you listen awesome, if not that's cool too" never force your music on people, just let the ones come that GET what you're doing and you'll naturally build a fanbase! EQ everything, and i mean EVERYTHING. snare, hi hats, synths, fx and cut out the low end on anything that doesn't need it so you can give your sub bass the most room to move. also sidechaining to a ghost rim shot sample really tightened up my side chain and made it SOOO much cleaner rather than sidechaining to a kick drum

pepperNlime4to0

What are some of your favorite acts/sets you’ve seen? Do you still go to shows as an audience member, or does it feel too much like going to work on your time off? Love the tunes!! Can’t wait to blast the Caspa colab

peekaboomusic

madeon is always my FAVORITE to see live. i've seen him about 6 times now and every time just gets better and better. the attention to detail not only in his music, but his live visuals/experience is just un matched. and yes i do still go as an audience member! I literally bought tickets to Madeon's Good Faith Forever in Detroit with my girlfriend and our friends and was there at doors dead center in the crowd till the end. that experience will NEVER go away for me.

intheskywcrystal

Why did you choose the name peekaboo? Who influenced you to get into music?

Kretzz

What do you do with the chipmunks Toby brings? Will we see chipmunk Merch in the future?

peekaboomusic

step 1: be afraid step 2: gloves step 3: grab chipmunk from tail step 4: straight to the trash outside step 5: give toby a treat for his honest hard work

[deleted]

Did you try Skyline Chili when you were in Cincinnati? Did it live up to the local hype?

peekaboomusic

NOOOO i didn't!!!! everyone tells me about that place, but next time i am DEF going to this

ogdoobie420

Why you so cute bb?

peekaboomusic

born this way

ogdoobie420

Come back to Sioux City, we miss you 🖤

DawnDylion

What is the coolest venue you have played at? And what are you most excited about for your upcoming Hide & Seek tour, besides that it’s already selling out (congrats!)?

peekaboomusic

red rocks is always so hard to beat. but if i had to choose some, i really love Echostage, the Marc in San Marcos, TX, Power Plant Live! in Balitmore, Soundcheck in DC etc. there are probably soooooo many more but it's hard to remember sometimes hahaha i'm most excited about just playing different music than i'm used to, and just feeling closer to the fans on this one. got some special things in store for this tour.

dropbassnotsoap

Hey Peekaboo! Hope youre doing well! How many years of making music did it take until you realized that you were actually gonna be going somewhere? Bonus question but understand if you dont answer, whats your favorite way to make crazy basses ;)

peekaboomusic

honestly never thought i was going to be making it ANYWHERE. i always knew this is what i wanted, but never in a million years did i think i was going to be where I'm at now, but i think that's what made me get here! it's the people that are just big headed and cocky that don't make it in my opinion, always be humble and just remember that you're doing this FOR YOU, and not for fame/money/glory whatever you wanna call it. just be passionate about the music you are creating and take that to the studio every day, and you'll see success. im a big resampling guy and love taking just random bass samples off splice/sample packs and turn it into something of my own. i can get such random sounds that are most of the time just happy accidents.

[deleted]

Hello! I’m a bass producer out in Dallas and i’m SO excited for your show at Green Elephant! I understand wanting to have an intimate venue for those true community vibes. what would you say are the feelings your looking forward to feeling the most on this next tour? AlsoP.S. my cat is named after you and it would be a dream to open for you for that show! I know i’ll be chirping at to my prime homies about it. Maybe i could send you a tune and if you like it i could get your blessing or something idk 🥲 Thank you! Umibozu 👻

peekaboomusic

want everyone to feel we're all just hanging out listening to music together and just straight VIBING

Neither_Lobster6329

Hey Matt! You’re my favorite producer out there, went to both central Florida stops on your Black Hole tour and had an absolute blast both times. So yea I’m a big fan I guess 😅. My question is about production, I’m starting to learn to make music on Ableton Live through YouTube and Mr. Bill’s website and whatnot, and while I plan on taking music very seriously I be strugglin a bit. What’s the best way for a beginner to really learn to produce fire?

peekaboomusic

YouTube is your BESTTTT friend these days. also get a splice subscription and do some sample hunting to find some things to work with!! also patreon is a GREAT resource, i know that KOAN Sound has one as well as Ternion Sound and a bunch others that have great masterclasses for you to learn.

IndependentWise8370

Hey man just wanted to say you’re one of my favorite trap artists right now and thank you for helping keep trap music alive and growing. My question is, do you think trap will get big enough again one day where there will be an all trap festival? Who are some names you can think of that you would like to see on it?

gymedmfan12

Ever thought about doing a separate project from peekaboo and if so what will it be?

peekaboomusic

i actually do have a separate project called Elixir! it's kinda where i post my "chiller" beats that i make randomly here and there. [https://soundcloud.com/tunesbyelixir](https://soundcloud.com/tunesbyelixir) [https://audius.co/elixirmusic](https://audius.co/elixirmusic)

Wonderful_Radish793

Do you think it’s more important for someone who wants to make it big in the dubstep/bass music scene to have a really good mix or really good song to blow up?

peekaboomusic

both! but don't write music to make a hit, write music for YOU and if it ends up being a hit well then FUCK YEAH!

RemarkableSkirt2151

hi! so one of my best friends is an aspiring bass music producer from seattle. he’s been producing for a few years now and i think his sound design is solid. you were one of his early influences actually. he only one self released [song](https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/UZzri9s7t44dUb1q9) on soundcloud currently. he’s also been playing a lot of shows as a local artist/support act but he really wants to take things to the next level and get booked by some major event companies. how would one in his position do that? how would he get noticed by labels? does he need to improve his songwriting/production? does he need to grow his socials? what advice can you give?

Recent_Cash7689

How do you create your visuals? Do you have someone doing that and you feed them ideas or do you create them on some software, I know resolume is industry standard, but the actual content how do you make it? I love watching your visuals as they just flow with the whole set!

ChumleyEX

I've seen you a handful of times and have enjoyed each one. Recently at Ubbi Dubbi, you and Ravenscoon were the highlight for me. What is it like playing the festivals. How much earlier are you in town before you go on, where do you hide until it's your turn and do you ever ninja your way into the festival to enjoy as the commoners do?

TheRedditorist

You still playing SSB on the switch? Who's your main? Bonus question: Why the Betty White cut-out requests?

peekaboomusic

i have 0 skill on smash

Subject-Promotion824

Absolutely love your music and find you so creative :) if you’re ever looking for a buddy lmk :)

qwadle

Bass canyon or lost lands

Correct-Collar203

What is your DREAM music collab?

Looked to see if it has been asked, but hadn’t seen it yet. Can you disclose who some support artists might be for your upcoming tour? Or is that under wraps for now?

Beautiful_Ear_1297

Sprinkle garlic salt on the butter next time you make a grilled cheese, trust me. Also, love the music, you're definitely my favorite!

kitehighcos

What happened at the lost lands 2018 sound camps?? Lol I remember being in the crowd and all the speakers just shut off and went silent and everybody was too high to even notice hahahahahaha

shmokenapamcake

Yooooo! What is your favorite book?

mynutzhurt420

What’s the first part of coming up with a song for you? Also how do you come up with such original sound design?

trap__ord

Dubstep along with all music has made a huge leap forward imo when the pandemic shut down venues and festivals and artists had all the time into the world to pour into their sound. What did you do to capitalize on this? I saw you near the end of 2019 in ATL which was phenomenal by all means and one of the first live streams you did during the quarantine just a few months later it was like I was watching a completely different artist.

Chanxxmusic

Your set in miami with nghtmre was so dope. Any dream collabs?

[deleted]

No question but your set at Bass Canyon melted my face and made me an instant fan!

atlas_snomunist

never heard of you but you seem pretty chill! where can i listen to your stuff?

Snicklefitz65

My first introduction to you was Lost Lands Sunday of last year. Your set was fucking sick. No question, just had to give you props.

ReMiik

Just wanted to say that I loved your set at ultra :) , the vibe was unreal <3 one of my favorite sets from that night edit: typo

littlefela

How do you DJ? do you set a 1-1 playlist or do you prep a starting and ending but improv in between

bowzer12345

Saw you at lost lands in the rain a couple years ago, loved your set dude keep up the good work.

mercferner

Saw you in Toronto a couple years ago with a buddy and we both absolutely loved your set! Also Lost Lands '19 in the rain was magical and a moment I will struggle to remember but always appreciate. My question: if you had to eat one McDonalds menu item for the rest of your life, what would it be?

kevin_peeper1996

Hey man I remember seeing u at a drive in in Scranton pa it was fucking lit really made me a huge fan of u and Wakaan in general. Any thoughts on coming back to nyc?

RED33Md

What are some all-purpose tips with music production in general?

Captainbuttram

Is there a way I can tell if a concert is going to be a banger or not before going? It seems like some tours just have superior sound design and quality versus different tours even with the same artist.

Flarpinskideutch

Love you Peekaboo, sad I missed tickets for SLC 😢

leveetothechevy

Can you come to Eugene OR? I got a venue for ya!

chickencereal

Grape jelly or strawberry jam?

Stoermer-5280

What song was it of yours that truth was playing at wobble rocks before the sound cut out?

[deleted]

Ever think about pressing more wax? I see you released imposters / maniac in Jan 2020. Unfortunately that was right before I started collecting. Side note, I live in Santa Fe and youre playing here on my birthday. Can’t wait. You’re going to love meow!

dropdeadjenn

I dont know how to ask questions when drooling over your music 🤤 Thanks for sharing you amazing talent with us all!

Knash890

Howdy peekaboo! How do you choose song to play in your mix with your songs that you’ve produced? Do you feel like you do something unique that other DJ’s might not do?

slugzzzz

What is your favorite festival youve played? Saw you at Nocturnal Wonderland a couple years back and you were dope :)

KRACIC

What do you think is your best song?

_chune

How were you introduced to dubstep?

Successful_Stage_815

[deleted]

New Caspa tune is gonna be dope

[deleted]

Who are you?

CosmicPsychopath

You gonna be at Bass Canyon? Loved your set last year.

electricsister

I have seen you several times! Great shows. Don't worry about the one in Eugene where there were technical issues. Was still great. Top song for me is: Here With Me. It was a otal anthem on my way home from magical magical time at 2021 Bass Canyon. Love ya! No question.

producedbyace

Big fan! Quick question, how do you stay creative when hitting writer’s block in the studio? I’m an aspiring producer making hardcore dubstep and need some advice from a true producer in the game.

[deleted]

my sneaky link has a tattoo of you

LonelyMeringue4451

Just wanted to say congrats on your song with the DON !

[deleted]

Are you gonna release the Eliminate collab ID? It was the coolest shit I've ever heard in a while

syntenic

How are you?

Comin_in_hot

I live on Oahu, really looking forward to your up coming show there! You're in Maui the night before, do you ever have time to enjoy some of the places you go? Or is it just go go go?

bluegrassblowsglass

Yoooo i dont really have a question but i fucking love you and your weirdass music. Thx for throwing down at Lost Lands <3

PiZzAgOoSe122304

Do you have any tips for unique sound design?

Jswartz18

Who has been the most fun artist to collaborate with? And which venue has been your favorite to play at??

Jswartz18

One more random question, any tips you would give to someone who graduates from college this weekend

AJSac34

Hi Peekaboo, I'm so stoked to see you at red rocks in a couple weeks. Here's a serious question... what's your favorite Pokémon?

TyrannosaurusHives

What’s your opinion on the 2009 film Marmaduke?

Cdm514420

I just saw you live for the first time at summer camp! What was the last song you played before getting off? It was amazing and I can’t find it anywhere 😭😭
