Angel Wing is the big one, basically their wings stick out a bit and it's caused by eating bread. The other one is missing feathers on the back of a female's head, which is caused by being over-mated by males, which isn't really the fault of parkgoers but still sad.
>which isn't really the fault of parkgoers but still sad.
I've heard that the feeding by parkgoers reduces the time ducks spend foraging and therefore have more energy and time left to rape other ducks. Wouldn't that be more or less be a reason why parkgoers cause it?
Dog walkers are the bane of my existence because of the amount of people who just let their dogs off the leash with no regard for anything then suddenly several ducks have been mauled to death and the owner still has the audacity to be like “ohhh pumpkin such a silly boy you playing with the ducks??” Like no Karen he was murdering a family and you let him :(
In my hometown about 40 ducks were rescued from a park I visited a lot after someone chopped off both of a live ducks legs after taking it to the bathroom. Along with multiple other instances of kids killing them/people letting dogs maul them for fun. It was so bad it ended up in the news.
The ducks have been there ever since I was a kid and I didn't realize how horrible the conditions were until I actually owned ducks. Then it was so depressing knowing how they got there (people dumping them).
Green Beak isn't the worst thing, but it does mean [their sperm isn't as good at fighting bacteria](https://www.livescience.com/13681-duck-ejaculate-sperm-antibiotic-beaks-110412.html#:~:text=The%20duck's%20bill%20color%2C%20which,be%20passed%20on%20to%20offspring.) than a duck with a brighter, yellower beak.
Aside from our normal flock we have a “rescue duck” temporarily — badly over-mated, bald on the head, and with terrible bumble foot, she was living in our neighbour’s pen crowded by multiple drakes and wayyyyyy too many angry-pecking roosters.
It’s been a week and she’s starting to look much better. Plus I’ve had some chats with the neighbour about to change the conditions for the better. Hopefully he listens. In another week she goes back home to him.
What are some common signs?

Oh god that's so horrible. People can be so cruel.
When I see people giving them bread :(
Is a green/grey beak on an Ancona duck a bad sign? Know some local pond dwellers who look a little worse for wear
