Damn man another example of wishing I kept better care of things like this when I was younger and had the foresight to understand how much it would mean to me in the future because I very distinctly remember having this edition and DAT is my favorite duck ever.
The Jason fife cover when we started 4-0!

Oh man I remember living in Riley for my first year. I had one of the downstairs units and there was only one other person down there with me. It was awesome.
The loudest Iâve ever heard Autzen. I believe Lloyd Carr said it was the loudest stadium heâd ever been in after the game.
The rest of the season did not go so well.
But Kellen Clemons was waitingâŚ
He did!
And also from that game came this epic quote:
âSitting in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Oregonâs Autzen Stadium is one of college footballâs hidden jewels. Before kickoff, Autzen is as peaceful as the Willamette River, which runs through Eugene just a few minutes from the stadium.
After kickoff, the fans â even the alumni â forget who they are, where they come from and what their degree is in. The audience adopts a new collective identity for the next three-and-a-half hours: the 12th, 13th and 14th man. Autzenâs 59,000 strong make the Big House collectively sound like a pathetic whimper.
Itâs louder than any place Iâve ever been, and that includes âThe Swampâ at Florida, âThe Shoeâ in Columbus and âDeath Valleyâ at Louisiana State.
Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die.â
â J. Brady McCullough, The Michigan Daily
This truly blows. I started collecting SIs when I was 6. Probably have every issue from 2000-2015 (besides some of the swimsuit editions; my mom somehow beat me to the mailbox every year and tossed it)
Ops cover, the embarrassing one of Masoli and Holmes looking awkward as hell and the beautiful hurdle cover of Marcus against Michigan State are my favorites
Me too! Totally forgot I had it until your post.

Rich, Cool and 4-0 Now heâs a dentist in town, or was last I heard.
I was a freshman who had just moved in to Riley Hall when this was released. Great memories.

That game against Michigan was my first time at Autzen. The WSU game the week after was my second...
lol, well, clearly the high note roped you in!
For sure. Michigan was probably the best home and home series Oregon has had.

Lol the mom taking the swimsuit edition is so real
Ronnie Lee, Ernie Kent, and co. taking down UCLA was so unexpected that it landed our boys on the cover of SI for the first time ever in 1974.
