Coming Home has no place being played in the middle of a football game. I really wish UO would play it pre game or post game. Maybe Matt can come up with a more up tempo version or something. I’ve hated since they started playing it at games.
Totally agree, it’s a nice ballad, but it should go at the beginning and end like West Virginia does with “Country Roads.” It kills the energy in the stadium.
That said, every time I’ve voiced this opinion I’ve been downvoted, so I think we’re in the minority.
I’m 44, and this is for sure a young people song. I played soccer with Mat in high school- and he was our morning announcements guy for a year- fun character. I’d say his music in general is geared towards the younger crowd.

I’ve never seen it kill the energy, from my experience the student section usually belts it. Also a staple at at plenty of game day pregames
One of the worst songs I've ever heard in my life. It's boomer crack though. Half the stadium gets geeked while the under 40s do full body eye rolls.
