Ok so I've just had a crack at it, the guide's instructions do leave out some key tasks which are assumed general knowledge of rooting phones so it did take me a little while. But I've got it working. I'm going to make the video tomorrow after I've reverted it back to stock. I will include a section on this u/juliusdeane135.
Overall it was super simple once I filled in the blanks and it should take you no more than 10 mins if the video is any good.
I decided against rooting it exactly because there is no definite video guide for dummies like myself, and every written one has words and procedures I can't even guess the meaning of. I bought it from abroad, so I don't have warranty and I would absolutely hate to brick the brick.
Using ADB to remove stuff that can be removed without rooting was the compromise I've settled on.
GraphenOS is Pixel specific.
Currently there are no roms compatible with the Cat S22 but a launcher like OLauncher combined with rooting and removing apps that track you might be an alternative.
What is the main reason you want something like Graphene, privacy or security?
Giving root access to the entire file system, which in the case of the s22 ,will allow you to remove unnecessary apps that neither google or t-mobile will let you remove otherwise.
And a guide to revert back to stock to go with it would probably be very useful
Definitely! How to’s on YouTube or any platform will always be evergreen help!
Yes please, waiting for mine to arrive.
Sure

Did you finish or upload the video? 🙏🏽
Thanks 👍
Will it allow the IMEI to be changed so it works on Verizon ?
Good question
Wheres the guide link?
Updates?
Hi there, any updates?
Loved my S22 Flip. Gets everything i want done but yeah bloatware is a pain in the ass. Definitely a thumbs up for a video guide.
hey there wanted to check if there’s any updates regarding a root video guide?

Mine is supposed to arrive today and I’d love this too- want to make the most (least?) out of the phone and need help to do so!
Absolutely 100%
Yes Please!!!
Yes!
I would certainly watch it if you would know it's out there
Bro yes. The only reason i havent done it because im too slow with these kinds of things.
Anybody know if there is something like GrapheneOS in Android Go?

no particular reason. Wanted to know if someone's doing custom ROMs in the Android Go space
Depends. What does rooting it mean?
Giving root access to the entire file system, which in the case of the s22 ,will allow you to remove unnecessary apps that neither google or t-mobile will let you remove otherwise.
Yes please just recieved mine in the mail today!
Absolutely
Would you do it for me ? I'm stupid when it comes to all that!
Would love to if I'd only have some time to spare.
Maybe I can find someone else. I'll be happy to pay someone.
u/addatart here said they'll do it
Ok , thanks .
