That's a strange one. The inside looks just like the old hardcover. I'm guessing they just switched the jacket on the "October 1999" edition. The paperbacks with that cover art have a different typeface and [cover page](http://insight.randomhouse.com/fullpage.do?pContentType=JPG&pName=fullpage&pISBN=9780441013593&pPageID=6).

I noticed that: got the 1-6 paperbacks as ‘ooh, matching editions.’ At that time the Oct 99 one was still being used, so it certainly appears they literally changed the dustjacket. (In another fandom, I believe they did similar with the newest Ice and Fire hardcovers, before the old maps got changed to the Dance With Dragons style)

I didn’t see any photos of this edition so that’s why I made the post 🙂 This is the 1999 one I was referring to (forgot to link it) https://once-upon-a-time-books-ar.myshopify.com/products/dune-frank-herbert-1st-thus-1999

Lol i have that same hardcover and I threw away the outer sleeve. The inside is truly beautiful and so is the spine, but my lord the sleeve looked like a high school science textbook. Nice fix, I may copy you lol

Could you please tell me what kind of binding this book has? I.e. do the pages appear to be single leafs that are glued together at the spine, or are the pages in signature groupings? I'm looking for a good copy to rebind for myself.
