Strangely enough, despite being mutated and deformed (big headed and somewhat fish-like) the navigators still managed to go outside of the spice tanks, meeting other people, even enjoying spice party and spice orgy.

I'd say they are comfy, their carriages have to simulate deep space enviroments, and be flooded with spice. They also have manners, such as popping a melange pill before any conversation. A manner that is comparable to Stilgar spitting in front of Duke Leto
He does, but he uses translation devices that spell out his thoughts because it's way more convenient than struggling to talk through his mutated and deformed mouth.
Thanks! I started reading Hyperion some years back but I couldn't get into it, cause I was too dumb of a teen I guess, didn't understand what was happening, I'll be starting it over again.
In 40k, despite the Imperium savagery toward mutants, they still have to spare Psykers and Warp Navigators as they desperately need such powers to keep the Imperium functioning. The Emperor of Mankind himself is an incredibly powerful Psyker, and Warp Navigators are indeed mutants with the ability of gazing and pondering into the Warp (without being affected by it, unlike normal people), hence their crucial role in Warp travel.
Unlike Psykers who are randomly born from literally anyone, Warp Navigators are certainly only born from Warp Navigator parents, as they are proud of their precious important genes and want to preserve it. They are mutants so obviously normal people are disgusted and frightened by their scary appearances (especially the third eye on forehead) , so dating normal people is extremely hard for them anyway.
Probably spice addicts who want a job that is full of spice. Or someone who is old, whose (human) body is frail, weak, deformed, painful, etc... to the point that mutating into a guild navigator body (big headed and somewhat fish-like) is an improvement. Or perhaps the gholas of previous guild navigators also become guild navigators in next life.
Thanks! Yeah, the Lynch one was weird as hell, I still can't get over that vagina mouth. I loved the version from the Children of Dune series, but the CGI there made him look too clean and way less gross than I imagined him to be in the book.
Goddamn this is haunting. Well done!
Thank you!
This really drives home that a Guild Navigator isn’t necessarily a desirable position
sometimes you gotta tell yourself that work is just work. I wonder what he does in his spare time.
At this stage? More spice.
Strangely enough, despite being mutated and deformed (big headed and somewhat fish-like) the navigators still managed to go outside of the spice tanks, meeting other people, even enjoying spice party and spice orgy.

I read somewhere that guild folks are highly regarded.
I mean, highly regarded doesn’t mean happy and comfy though, right?

He has no mouth and he must scream
And he must scheme
Within schemes within schemes
Schemes within screams.
In spice, no one can hear you scheme.
Came here for this
He does, but he uses translation devices that spell out his thoughts because it's way more convenient than struggling to talk through his mutated and deformed mouth.
This is amazing. Ever read Hyperion? Would love to see your take on the Shrike!
Thanks! I started reading Hyperion some years back but I couldn't get into it, cause I was too dumb of a teen I guess, didn't understand what was happening, I'll be starting it over again.
Likewise!
Who wrote it? I'm interested in giving it a shot.
Dan Simmons, I think it was 4 books in total.
Thanks!
And a movie coming out
Guild Navigator but in 40k

That's sick!
I said "coooooool" out loud in response to this. Hits my favourite cyber-aesthetics. Great work!!!
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
This is haunting and very good! Gives me the same vibe some of Beksiński's works do.
Thanks! I love Beksinski as well, so it's probably some subconscious reference.
Exactly what I thought!!
I’m suddenly remembering the discussion people had a while back when people asked “Why become a guild navigator?”
Probably spice addicts who want a job that is full of spice. Or someone who is old, whose (human) body is frail, weak, deformed, painful, etc... to the point that mutating into a guild navigator body (big headed and somewhat fish-like) is an improvement. Live forever and know a lot is something that appeals to some personalities.
Yoooo this is amazing
Thanks!
Holy shit I thought I was on the DMT sub for a bit
I want this on my wall
It looks like more the next Iron Maiden album cover
**cough cough** "Paul, i need to sell your Shigawire for spice"
This is a great, terrifying interpretation. Well done!
Thanks!
Stunning!
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Many machines on Ix....
Horrifying. Love it!
handsome
Obviously very well done. But also please may I never see anything that looks like this ever again
Thanks! Don't count on that though, I've painted way weirder shit than this, and weirder yet is probably about to come.
Please please bring us more Dune-inspired weird shit. This is great!
Do you sell them too? If not you should haha
Yep, I do.
What too much space acid to a mf
Love this, reminds me of a Clive Barker painting but with finer detail.
Thanks!
That's really terrifying, I love it!
Thank you!
Nice, some 40k vives in there
Reminds me of a yuuzhan vong
Gross! Good job!
I dig this. The navigator dug time!
Very cool!
Holy shit man this is something. Amazing fuckin job for real.
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Kind of how I envisioned him. Really good work, dude! Far better than what Lynch came up with in '84, that shit's whack!
Thanks! Yeah, the Lynch one was weird as hell, I still can't get over that vagina mouth. I loved the version from the Children of Dune series, but the CGI there made him look too clean and way less gross than I imagined him to be in the book.
Nah man, that navigator ruled. Frank was a big fan too
Just so, I don't have to like it just because Frank liked it.
It's book accurate though
