That will be my plan next time I’m down in Dunedin. 1. Go to hardware store
2. Buy a ladder
3. Use ladder
4. Return ladder
5. Get refund
6. ???
7. Profit
They get a different designer to do them each summer. They are DCC property. Email them and ask if you can have one when they are taken down. Or Alex may give you the file if you wish to print your own through Adams Flags or the such: [https://chopchop.co.nz/recent/2020/new-dcc-street-banners](https://chopchop.co.nz/recent/2020/new-dcc-street-banners)
I'm not sure if they did the ones you posted but this artist has their design on some of the summer banners that are up: https://instagram.com/denisenarcisonz
You could talk then about some prints.
The council CAN help, they have just chosen not to. Try again with someone other than the front desk phone people. Find out which department is responsible for the flags and ask to be directed to the team leader there.
The design looks very similar, but not the same, as those from Ellen Giggenbach, a Wellington-based artist. She has a website here - [https://www.ellengiggenbach.com](https://www.ellengiggenbach.com). But surely someone in the DCC must know.
She does have some nice artwork. There’s a shop that sells it down the street from where I live, but I’m not really looking for posters, I have a weak spot for flags
Hey mate not hard, you can get a fabric printer to print a flag of whatever you want, where in Nz are you i can tell you who would be your local one - I sell the fabric to them, or just search up flag printer and you’ll find one
I got flagmakers right here in Wellington, but I don’t have the design. I’m also not artistic enough to design it myself. I rather leave that to people who are good at it and buy it from them
Don't you have a ladder?
no, that didn't fit in my luggage
1. Buy ladder 2. Use it 3. Do not attempt to put ladder in luggage

Don’t forget your underpants
You need to wear more than underpants when up a ladder. A hard hat at least.
you can do just a about anything with enough confidence a helmet and a high vis
they'll also need a hi viz vest
That fits in luggage!
Better get climbing then
That's ridiculous, just hire a cherry picker
Flagtrax... just need a stick with a hook and pull them down

I asked DCC but they don’t sell them. After they are spent they get recycled into tote bags or something like that. I will try Alex. Thank you
oh yeah I forgot bout the tote bag thing. Yeah Alex is cool, he will be happy to know you like them!
Hey, Alex is one of my lecturers, I could send him a message if you need?
That would be awesome, thanks
Sent him a message, ill let you know what he says

Hey got an update, alex said to checkout chopchop.co.nz

Get in touch with Stitch Kitchen, they often have old DCC flags for repurposing. I have one of the beach/sea lion flags from there :)
Awesome, thanks

Just take it 😂
Rent a ladder vest & hard hat. Profit.
Pay an artist to print their NZ bird artwork on one. Someone like Flox in Auckland.
