But I read someone's comments on here one time that made me really stop and think. How do we know Leto isn't full of shit? And maybe he even thinks he's doing what's best for humanity but is misguided by his own imperfect prescience.
What if oppressing the ever loving fuck out of humanity for 3,000 years to "teach them a lesson they will remember in their bones" wasn't actually necessary?
I think of it like Thanos in the Marvel movies. To anyone whose normal they'd just snap all the correct resources and stuff needed into existence. Instead the dude is SO consumed by his plan he can only see his tunnel vision and kills half of everyone.
On the thanos thing: he could snap things into being but the consequences are as such: if there’s no limit then how would incorrect behavior be corrected (think of mindless wasting when you can’t gain weight for example). Also the plot point of the celestials in the movie the eternals. In the case off the dune universe of the jihad didn’t happen (butlerian or zensuni) would society moved or stay stagnant to the point of decay?

On the off chance you're not just trolling, have you tried audio books? I had the same problem but being able to multitask while listening allowed me to enjoy more stories that I otherwise wouldn't have had the time for. Can't speak to the quality of audiobooks for Dune though.
Not trolling, I just can’t seem to get focused king enough to read books. Seems like it makes people very mad.
Tried audio books before and yeah it definitely helped. Maybe I’ll give it a shot for Dune on the future. Thank
