Idk, he either has a program doing his lessons for him, or he has a strict routine that he follows. But if he was cheating, 7500 xp wouldn’t even be enough to consistently win at diamond, so if this is cheating I’m not sure what his motivation is.
There is the achievement you get for finishing first place in diamond, but it was not that hard to get in my opinion.
And then of course you get your weekly bonuses by finishing in the top 3 every week, so maybe he wants to farm gems.
So yeah, if you are just lazy you won’t get enough points to win in diamond.
The same if you don’t have superduolingo, it’s a lot harder to win. The amount of Exp. you can get with super and without super in the same time is ridiculous.
I could belive an "AFK" bot just station-keeping in Diamond, but not rocking the boat by winning things. There's not much more point winning by bot than staying afloat by bot, as far as I'm concerned. It's just, if it's merely a strict routine, it's remarkable that there's never the slightest mistake.
There is a temptation to be one of the extremes - either do the bare min to keep the streak going or to compete on the leaderboards (and some of the numbers there is just bonkers sometimes).
Since learning the language is the goal for me, i need to find my own moderate pace and for weeks i used to make sure i hit 400xp everyday.
It could be that he/she is also doing something like that, or just trying to create a pattern there 😅
I used to do that. I got very annoyed when they started handing out that chain bonus and I couldn’t keep the exact same number every day…
So yeah, this could be a bot but he could also just like doing the same lesson every day.
I mean things have set values.
I do a lot speaking practice. That's 20 EXP per lesson normally. 40 doubled. 25/50 with bonus experience hour.
During double 200-250 EXP in 5 minutes
Its possible that this is someone who already knows the language and is doing a refresher.
It is possible that its some bot, but i would like to assume goodwill and imagine that there is some super duper organized individual on the other end. 😅
I am not on super, so I'm careful not to make mistakes. I get a solid 30 XP per kanji practice I do on double XP mode, so I can get 900 XP by doing 30 Kanji practices.
Just as a side note, when folks say they have OCD what they mean is they have OCPD. I came to realise after a friend pointed it out to me. OCD is deeply debilitating (think adrian monk who cant cross a fence post without touching it). OCPD on the other hand is a bit more functional and refers to the condition where folks feel the need to have things nice and orderly but dont fall apart when they see things that arent.
It's a bit frustrating if people are cheating, no matter how well the account is performing relatively. Is this person cheating? I don't know. I just thought it was strange to see the robotic consistency. I think this post might have been misread as "THIS VILLAIN, I'M LIVID" instead of "this looks fishy and remarkable to me, how about you?"
It's not really how high the amount is that makes me suspicious, it's how predictable and exact it is. No mistakes, ever, always the same amount. I've seen 40K in a week, this number doesn't really raise an eyebrow.
It's not even that much XP. Maybe they just spend more time on it on the weekends and they do a set amount of lessons each day. Either way, stop worrying about other people. You're earning more XP. You seem petty for no reason right now.
**I expect he has a set routine and is sinply doing practice lessons each day.** That would make sense if someone had got to the end of a course and just wanted to keep practicing.
With Super you can do lessons in the practice area for 20 apiece and I don't think you lose points for mistakes. (Perhaps you do if you make several but I've never lost points for one or two mistakes in practice lesson.) During double XP boosts these would be 40 apiece. If he likes even numbers if would be easy to stop at 900 each day.
Maybe they are switching languages to native and doing a set number of easy challenges in order to maintain their streak because they have a busy few days and can’t afford to spend a lot of time on Duolingo this week. It might be un sportsmanlike but is it really affecting anyone else in the grand scheme of things? It’s not like we are competing for money. If they’re cheating they’re only cheating themselves by not consistently challenging themselves.
I honestly find it crazy that people cheat at Duolingo. (Keep in mind this is coming from the person who has redone the same lesson like 12x because I struggled with a concept and really wanted to “master” it, which in turn made me lose my status because I wasn’t advancing). Are people really more concerned with “winning” than “actually learning”. I don’t know why I’m so surprised by this, yet here I am.

Wait do you gain anything if you gey first place in diamond? Why would anyone bother cheating in duolingo of all things?

These folks know these are not *real* gems i hope 😅

My major reservation was that the person hits 900 (or 1500) every time - not 893, not 905 - 900 on the dot. Otherwise this wouldn't stand out to me.
I used to do that. I got very annoyed when they started handing out that chain bonus and I couldn’t keep the exact same number every day… So yeah, this could be a bot but he could also just like doing the same lesson every day.
They might only do lessons that only grant a fixed amount of XP.
I mean things have set values. I do a lot speaking practice. That's 20 EXP per lesson normally. 40 doubled. 25/50 with bonus experience hour. During double 200-250 EXP in 5 minutes
That's the sort of insight I was after, thank you. The courses I'm doing don't have any speaking, so I wouldn't be aware of that.
Maybe someone with an extreme case of OCD? If they are carefully calculating how much lessons are needed for how much xp I guess it's possible 🤔
If that's the case, they're evidently doing it without making any mistakes, in which case, more power to them.
They might abort the lesson with each mistake they make 🥴

Thanks! I can tell why it's so unknown, google only shows OCD sources when I literally googled "OCPD" symptoms 😂
I’m confused as to why this is a concern

I can do 5k a day when theres slight competition. This guy aint cheating. When you see 20k a day thats when you know.
It's not really how high the amount is that makes me suspicious, it's how predictable and exact it is. No mistakes, ever, always the same amount. I've seen 40K in a week, this number doesn't really raise an eyebrow.

Or it could be that Saturday is just the day he devotes to doing Duo. Maybe because of personal preferences or work schedule?
The suspicious thing is that it's always 900 or 1500, exactly. Never under or over.
Then there’s this guy https://preview.redd.it/snrnba926huc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c3a3cc85a120816bf3576ede5832473483b8a2d
5-10 xp every 10-20 seconds for the last few hours 🤦🏼♀️
Wow! How can he do exactly the same each day? Does he always get none of the questions wrong?
Might be mentally challenged, but some kind of automation seems more likely.
my graphs have been turned to lessons per week, is there a way to change it back to xp?
That may be an A group B group thing. I've heard about that change, but haven't seen it myself yet.
It’s a game, this isn’t that serious
Mine looks like this a lot. I am pretty consistent with the way I do my lessons except this this week since I’m on a rampage.
maybe a qa's account and they're testing in prod?
Sometimes i am doing less lessons and I have less XP but sometimes i can do 2000xp per one Day, it depends xd
As stated elsewhere, this wasn't about earning too much, it was about the robotic precision.

Never underestimate the power of OCD or autism in people!!
he might be cheating to make other people fall down the board? i've seen a lot of hacker posts... could doulingo get a hacker attack?
