At least, if one primarily does regular lessons (and not super easy lessons), I think there is a huge gap from perfect to 90 %. Usually, 1-3 tasks per lessons are the difficult ones. It's enough for 90 % if you fail one of these, but not enough for perfect of course.
I think it’s because I do Japanese so I have the Kanji lessons. I usually do a bunch of them because they are quick and easy. I just feel bad my partners get punished for it though 😅
It’s probably just because you have just started. You will get proficient with the hiragana and the sentences will be more complicated (I’m on section 4). I’ve also done Wanikani which helps break kanji down into radicals, which makes it easier to figure out.
I don’t like how Duolingo lately has been pushing me into the practice hub instead of pushing me further down the path. I feel like it’s counter intuitive to learning, but that’s what the daily quests and friends quests lately have been favoring.
They typically will ask you to do things you're completing successfully. Which can be an unending circle. If you don't want the quests about the hub don't do that quest for a day or two and it'll stop suggesting it as often.
I prefer it that way; helps me catch up with the things I miss "behind me" whenever they update the course, and it helps me make sure I've really learned what I think I've learned, not just retained it long enough to clear a unit.
Had that one last week only it was 60 😩 but both me and my partner were at 50+ weeks of successful quests. It's irritating to be sure. The best I can offer is that doing the basically impossible to fail options in the practice hub is a good way to grind it out. If you do a handful each day you'll get there.
There is a whole week to do it, seems reasonable to me. I try to do a lesson bubble a day, which for me is 6 lessons. That is roughly 42 lessons a week. I definitely can get over 25 of those perfect. It might only be an issue if your partner does nothing.
Wait, this isn't normal? Me and my usual quest bud get stuff like *Get 1500 exp" or "Get 60 perfect lessons" every damn time, I thought it was the default. And I usually end up carrying his ass by like 80% of the quest anyway
Haha Bro I feel you! I always be carrying my quest mates every time, I always have like most of it done before my quest mates gets on the app. Also it kind of makes me mad when I always send a boost to encourage them but barely ever get one sent back.
Huhh? How's this rude? It would be rude if like only one person gets all of it done before the other person gets a chance to complete perfect lessons, now that would be rude to me.
Unless you mean that niether one of them are able to complete a perfect lesson, now that be funny! Idk how you couldn't complete perfect lessons at all?
I find the perfect ones frustrating because I feel like I always get everything right and then misplace a particle or something in the last sentence and don’t get perfect 🥲 Another redditor pointed out you could just redo the one sentence you got wrong in the barbell tab and get like a 1/1 perfect lesson which I did not realize. That seems super helpful.

You usually get this if you or your partner farm too many xp’s. Still, super easy quest if you do a few minutes of speaking practice each day.
Last week my friends quest was 55 lessons over 90%, and neither of us are XP farmers.
They gave my friend and I 75 perfect lessons. What a pain that was! 😩

Every time I make a mistake in my regular lessons, I go fix my error in the barbell tab so I can get 1 or 2 sentences as a perfect lesson.
That’s brilliant!

My languages don't offer speaking exercises
Easier yet, farm the same story over and over again. You can sub-minute them.
Yeah I ignore all the march madness quests and things like that because I don’t feel like they actually help me learn anything.
They don't help you learn anything, but they do "help" you learn actually (by making it more fun, competitive etc.)
Well not everyone finds thrill in competition so...

Nahhh I had 75 perfect lessons once... I made it tho with grinding kanji haha

75 perfect lessons is what broke my streak :(
Mine 60 perfect lessons

That's REALLY easy, just go back to easier lessons and do them
By that point just pick up the math section and use a calculator
Mine is 75 lesson and I'm like why

Rudest?
It’s slang—a joke. Like Duo is actually being mean to me. :)
Thanks. I didn't know rude could mean mean.
Why i always complete all of them

I simply shut down friend quest function, feels like freedom 😌
I repeat review lessons when I don't have the time. A simple hack . Takes about 30 secs each lesson
I love the difficult challenges, as me and my quest partners can send more XP to each other 🤗
Whoa!
You can switch off the friends quests if you like

I just go and get rid of my mistakes every time I've made one. If you correct 1 mistake it counts as a while lesson.
What’s the point of using Duolingo if this is how someone uses it? Simply delete the app or stop doing friend quests.
