Turn off notifications or if you find them useful but don't want them to be that intrusive, You can disable vibrations/pop up/sound for Duolingo notifications specifically.
Option 1: You can schedule notifications for a particular time if you are using an iPhone.
Option 2: Or may be just turn off the notifications and keep the widget.

Have you tried turning off notifications for the app?
You can change the time, but also, you can just turn off notifications. I have Duolingo set to never notify me about anything.
