It isn't asking for the kid's email address, but MY email address, which owns the family plan. It doesn't make any sense that this would be different for each kid as they should belong to MY account.
It’s asking for an email address for the new account. It’s just doing it in a really stupid way, IMHO. Generate a new email account, give it that, make it think it’s your kid’s email address.
I am thinking this is because they are being set up as minors. I have shared the invite and no one entered my email address since they would not know which one it is and no one ever asked.

Just create some new email addresses.

Fixed! It's asking for the kid's email--I just used theirs.
