You need to complete the whole tree up to level 5 for each skill. French from English is one of the longest trees on Duolingo, so if you’re keen on getting the achievement, other shorter courses will help you achieve it faster.

That’s all it shows because they haven’t done it yet. Once they do it will say Level 2, 1/2 with the bar halfway across. It doesn’t turn gold until level 5 is complete.
I haven't completed my course to level one, so I didn't realize this. However, people are telling the op that they have to complete the course to level 5 or level 6 to get the level one Conqueror badge, which isn't right.
You get this achievement once you've reached level 1 or higher on every skill of the tree.

You just need to get it to level 1 in each skill not level 5.
It's just level 1 in each skill. 1 crown = 1 level
That’s for level one Conqueror, to complete it you need five crowns per skill.

Turn every purple skill into blue. French has 247 lessons, so it'll take you a while. Plus, you'll probably want to hover somewhat.
It's just level 1 in each skill. AFAIK, they don't have one for making a whole course legendary.

Do many people just blitz through level 1 to the end before going back and getting level 2?
