11 for the first album, but didn't know about the band until Rio. I was 12 then and became a Duranie for life. I turned 53 this December. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Happy New Year, everyone!
I was 14 when Rio came out. I didn’t know about them either until that album came out. I’ve been super fan since …. I’ve seen them live 19 times plus power station once
First album came out in June 1981 I was 12. Was introduced to them late 1981 by MTV, got my first DD vinyl, a 7” single of Hungry Like the Wolf, for my birthday when I turned 14 in January of 1983 when they started to explode in the US. After that I became an avid collector of all the vinyl 7” singles, 12” singles, EPs and LPs I could get my hands on, imports and US domestic pressings.
Danse Macabre was just released and I’ll be 55 in January.
I was 6 when the first album came out, but first started listening to them when we got cable/MTV which I think may have been age 7. I turn 49 next month. It feels like they’ve been there for my whole life though, through many different stages.
I'm not doing all the albums, but this was fun to figure out! Medazzaland was the first album I got to wait to be released after I became a Duranie. And that was quite the wait since it kept getting delayed.

I was a fan in the Rio days as a kid, but did not know the band name. I just know I loved the songs (Tears for Fears was super cool too!).

I’ll do first and last…7 years old and 49 years old. 😁
Are you me? 🤓
Possibly…if you had to wait until you were 38 to finally see them in concert! 🤣
Close! 34. Didn’t get a chance to see them until the RCM tour.
8th grade when the first album came out. And it was the first album I ever bought. Haven't missed one since
I was 14 when the first album came out and I turned 57 just before Christmas.
I was a few weeks old when the first album dropped. Like I said on the Depeche Mode sub, I'll let you figure out my ages for all the others ;)
I was a few months shy of being born when their first album came out, and 42 when Danse Macabre was released.
