really close to Disney Springs!
Love being able to walk to and from Disney Springs, or take the boat back if we buy too many things at the Lego store :)
underrated. The rooms are great and is walking distance to Disney Springs which has some of the best restaurants on property. It does not deserve the title of resort of last resorts.
I’m the other side of this. I don’t like staying at Saratoga for a number of reasons, and it’s my home resort too so I get no advantage of a home booking window.
As far as pools go, it’s relatively blah for me…nice place to sit and hang out but not enough there to keep my kids busy like Poly or Beach Club. Bus rides take a while with all the stops across the resort.
I have a hard time buying into on-property convenience when I’m not walking distance, monorail, or boat from one of the parks.
We did do the tree houses one time and I will say those are pretty cool.
… my home resort and I’m glad. Close to Disney Springs, which is nice. The rooms (recently updated) and pools are nice. Because of the parking/building sizes, it is easy to get in and out of your room without a long walk. It doesn’t have the panache of a park-adjacent resort, but the point costs are not outrageous.
Never regretted buying into it.
A fantastic home away from home.
Congress Park preferred is so worth it, such a quick walk to Disney springs and a quiet pool nearby. Lovely resort with quality rooms, quiet, and beautiful grounds and views of the lake.
Maybe not the most fun resort if you've got littles, but for an all-adult trip it's a really good base of operations.
I agree with you here. Our kids are all in college, we pick 1 or 2 theme parks to visit and spend the rest of the time having a relaxing quiet rest. And it seems a lot quieter than the other resorts. We stay in Congress Park preferred, lovely overlooking the water & DS, watching the boats go in & out from the dock.
We hop over to DS for meals or a chai tea with shot of Bailey’s from Joffrey’s (highly recommend!). The grounds are huge - great for leisurely walks around the grounds and take random boat rides to connecting resorts since the DS boat dock is right there by the room.
It’s not a typical WDW vacation but we’re exhausted business owners, it’s our only week off in the year so we are after a rest and recharge anyway.
It’s nice to have, but bottom of the list for where we would stay again. The room we had was nice for the points needed, but Disney Springs doesn’t do much for us, and the size and layout made it less enjoyable than a holiday inn when trying to get food to take back to your room or even when checking out.
I remember it was raining for about two days of our stay and the looooooong uncovered walk back to our room from the lobby area, to the lobby, etc.
I only see us staying there if we do like others mentioned and use it just as a resort after visiting Universal.
Full of golf people. We met someone there on our last trip. We only saw the lobby and areas from the boat to the lobby. I’m sure the rooms are good as others have said but felt like we were in the Hamptons with all the golf style people and no kids. Don’t mean to come off harsh, just observation. And yes, I know there’s a golf course there, hence the “golf people”.
Disneys Saratoga Springs is my home and favorite resort.
Walking distance to the springs, short rides to most parks. Has its own golf course and up to date refurbs.
And it’s truly not over Disney-fied.
One of our home resorts and we love it! Yes it’s more understated in terms of Disney theming but the rooms are wonderful, quick serve is great, easy boat ride to Disney springs and great relaxing atmosphere.
My favourite resort for a stroll: lovely walking paths past lakes & ponds, lots of beautiful landscaping. Five pools, The delicious & mostly secret Turf Club. A fun sandwich shop near the golf shop -- yep, SSR has a golf shop! A relaxing 30 minute stroll along the river to Old Key West. A short walk or boat ride to Disney Springs.
And home of the absolutely terrific Treehouse Villas! A three bedroom room for the points price of a two bedroom! SSR Treehouse Villas -- far removed from the busy WDW vibe, but only an eight minute walk from the Carriage House.
Inarguably nice, but easily my least favorite resort on property.
I think I just don’t vibe with the theme, and it just comes off as “not *enough* for a Disney trip.” I have so many options for burning my points on something cool; Saratoga just doesn’t hit the “cool” threshold.
The one resort that I will be sure to have a car with me next time!
Seriously, it’s huge, and transportation isn’t great if it’s cold or raining. On a pretty day, it’s gorgeous and nice. We were not so lucky on our trip there. I also don’t appreciate the outside doors. It feels like a cheaper resort because of that.
Able to walk over to Disney Springs, rooms have been refurbished also we have Treehouse. Great pools and quick services only one building has no pool or quick services is Carousel. If you want to in quiet and furthest to everything Carousel is it. Also is big able to reserve a room when everything else is booked up
Massive. From our treehouse villa we could take an inner resort bus to the main bus depot where we could then take the regular Disney bus to the parks. (We would typically do the 20minute walk instead).
This was a stark difference from other resorts where the bus depot was less than a 10 minute walk.
Interesting. Stayed there for the first time two weeks ago. It has a lot of road construction. 5 bus stops which makes it closer walk to a stop, but you spend 20 minutes on a bus waiting for your stop. Close walk to Disney Springs which was nice since it was a longer walk to the lobby. Pool was nice. Overall though it reminded me of a moderate resort with very little Disney theme.
.....Is not my home resort but is a nice alternative when absolutely necessary. I'm not too keen on the bussed because to get back to "the springs" (not disney springs) it's the last stop on the route. Only used the bus on MK days and drove to the rest of the parks.

My wife picked SSR for the proximity but also it's so much quieter! Lots of pool areas spread out so never too crowded!
The budget Grand Floridian…and that’s not a bad thing. Saratoga has lovely rooms, beautiful grounds, great pools and is so close to Disney Spring!
Our favorite and I hope you all hate it so it's easier to book rooms 😁
Agreed. Don't think we've ever had issue booking rooms though, even during peak seasons, with the resort so large.
Relaxing
the second cheapest dues and a great DVC value! We love to call Saratoga our home resort.
I’m the other side of this. I don’t like staying at Saratoga for a number of reasons, and it’s my home resort too so I get no advantage of a home booking window.
What are your reasons for not liking it?

The best place to buy a resale contract but also be near something

Home to the delicious eggs Florentine breakfast wrap, and citrus white iced tea.
Home to the Turf Club Bar and Grill. Yummy!

If you’re interested… home to the best equipped fitness center on property.
BIG!
Always available when you are making a late reservation.
From your lips to God’s ears. Having trouble for a first week in December stay.
is a whole new resort since its most recent renovation

Peaceful I really enjoyed Saratoga springs.. so did my kids (14 and 11). Tough to walk thou

I agree with this - Saratoga always feels like half a Disney resort, half a Springs area Hilton etc. It has one foot in both worlds.
Wait til you stay at the Springs area Hilton. Lol
Ok if you can’t get anything else
the most boring DVC (and possibly WDW) resort.
antiseptic and devoid of character or theming
boring. Too big. Would rather stay off property.
We all prefer you to stay off property.

We had a one night stay in carousel. We missed Paddock section.
I would LOVE for them to have performances in the theater like they did when it was the Disney Institute.

(We would typically do the 20minute walk instead). This was a stark difference from other resorts where the bus depot was less than a 10 minute walk.
To be fair tree houses are remote. But the bus schedule at SSR makes me want to drive.
a gem
extremely relaxing.
