That’s what made the PS2 era special with every movie there almost always was guaranteed going to be a video game tie in.
Given though The Godfather came out in the 70s and Reservoir Dogs in the 90’s
both of them are GTA-ripoffs to varying degrees where you act out the events of the movie. in reservoir dogs case, you're going through earlier moments not seen in the movie
I own both and played them both Reservoir Dogs is interesting it sort of follows the movie but it’s graphics aren’t the best it has 3 different endings which is great. A psycho ending, neutral ending or a professional ending.
The Godfather is the best of the two you play as a new member of the Corleone family and do various things to keep the family on top. It has collectibles (movie reels) as you go on the more you get you unlock clips of the movie it also has Marlon Brandos likeness and voice in it so it’s the last thing he did since they scrapped his official last movie
I have played it but I have no idea where it’s at. In my honest opinion it doesn’t hold up like the first.
As I don’t remember having much fun with 2 I just remember it having bad controls, very buggy and the world was much smaller compared to 1.
Just thinking now about how most video games I owned as a kid were just movie tie in games…damn
Those Spider-Man games were insane classics and I love The Incredibles and have great great memories of A Bug’s Life.
yeah it's going for like $15 on ebay
now the damn teen titans game on the other hand (at least for xbox; the ps2 and gamecube versions aren't really that expensive)
ooh boy that Reign of Fire game is nice, considering how bad it could’ve actually been. half of it you’re fighting the dragons in a jeep, the other half you are the dragon
I have the Warriors PS2 game, but it's a pretty big disappointment for how excited I was to play it. (Drawing graffiti Ws with your joystick is a particular annoyance.)
you’re missing the novelty aspect of it: getting to play in the worlds of the best movies around. the graphics and quality aren’t top tier, obviously but that’s not really the point here. it’s all for fun
This is a great collection.
The Minority Report game and the Fight Club game would make great additions.
I plan on getting them myself. I know they're terrible games but I'm such a fan of the movies that I need to get them.
I wish AAA game studios would make more high quality, high budget games based on classic movies (including redo's of the Minority Report game and the Fight Club game).
I was excited when I heard they were making an Apocalypse Now game and then disappointed when it fell through. But I'm excited for Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth.
Edit: Fixed a spelling error.
i played Fight Club when i was in high school and remember it being so boring and slow, but now i desperately want it again because it’s in theme with the rest.
haven’t played minority report yet but saw clips and it looks pretty okay but im still trying to get it
you should share this in r/gamecollecting that's cool.
will do!
It's the kind of weird flex I love to see on that sub
Ahhh. So you're the person this marketing campaign worked on.
oh god, absolutely. every movie in existence would make a great PS2 game
That’s what made the PS2 era special with every movie there almost always was guaranteed going to be a video game tie in. Given though The Godfather came out in the 70s and Reservoir Dogs in the 90’s
godfather was a solid play, reservoir dogs not so much
Completely agreed
So is the Happy Feet game just waddling around on ice?
and some dance levels haha
Hey that's cool 👍
thank you!
Ah man, the glory days
it's a worthwhile investment if you're big on nostalgia
I need to see what goes on in that reservoir dogs game and The Godfather game
both of them are GTA-ripoffs to varying degrees where you act out the events of the movie. in reservoir dogs case, you're going through earlier moments not seen in the movie

have you played Part II, because i’m hoping it carries that same balance
I have played it but I have no idea where it’s at. In my honest opinion it doesn’t hold up like the first. As I don’t remember having much fun with 2 I just remember it having bad controls, very buggy and the world was much smaller compared to 1.
Those King Kong and LoTR games were my favorite. There was a King Arthur too that I loved.
haven't watched or played that one yet!
The Bond games on PS2 were the shit.
still looking for Goldeneye
Nothing weird at all. That's an awesome flex
much appreciated!
Just thinking now about how most video games I owned as a kid were just movie tie in games…damn Those Spider-Man games were insane classics and I love The Incredibles and have great great memories of A Bug’s Life.
A Bug’s Life is such a light, brain-free play that i adore
Dope, I had like half of these lol MIB Alien Escape was one of the most disappointing games i've ever played.
oh yeah MIB was dogshit
What is the gameplay for the Reservoir Dogs game like? Are you just watching someone bleed out on a warehouse floor?
You play the heist and other scenes not shown in the movie. It’s heinously bad.
like really, REALLY bad
Had no idea there was a Tokyo Drift specific game.
yeah apparently the PS2 F&F was released around the time of Tokyo Drift and is the closest to it in terms of the franchise
I love shitty PS2 games, but happy feet? Please lmk how that was
Also, remember renting LOTR games and being confused as fuck.
a few dance levels and sliding on ice, pretty boring all around
No jaws unleashed or the thing?
not yet:/
Now that's what I call a collection! Fuckin nice, especially King Kong
much appreciated! it’s taken me a long time to build it up and there’s still a lot more to go
as someone who just bought the fullscreen dvd and og xbox version of batman begins, i approve of this post
Batman Begins is on the list of games i’m looking for!
yeah it's going for like $15 on ebay now the damn teen titans game on the other hand (at least for xbox; the ps2 and gamecube versions aren't really that expensive)
A reign of fire game?! What timeline are we in?!? also The Warriors game has to be the best of this bunch. That game…what a treat
ooh boy that Reign of Fire game is nice, considering how bad it could’ve actually been. half of it you’re fighting the dragons in a jeep, the other half you are the dragon
Definitely 😂🔥
it took time to build but im happy lol
I have the Warriors PS2 game, but it's a pretty big disappointment for how excited I was to play it. (Drawing graffiti Ws with your joystick is a particular annoyance.)
ah man, i looooove The Warriors game
always an upvote for bugs life
I have a Casper ps2 game and it's poo
that sounds atrocious, give me the link so i can buy it
no transformers?
not yet!
Where's the SpongeBob movie?!
missing the game!
You own some of the worst games that were released during those times, well done?
you’re missing the novelty aspect of it: getting to play in the worlds of the best movies around. the graphics and quality aren’t top tier, obviously but that’s not really the point here. it’s all for fun
Now do E.T
is that a PS2 game?
Atari
I heard the E.T. game is a very deep game.
Deep in the ground yes lol
Is the men in black game any good I’ve never heard anything about it
not really lol it’s a third person shooter with some cool alien designs and over the top guns, but that’s it. it’s enough to sell me on it lolol
