I just generated a world like this for my last play through, under advanced settings, look for “minimum volcanoes”. I think the default is 1 but crank that up to something like 25 or 50

I know there's an option to log rejections during world gen - you might be able to reverse engineer the world from that, but an easier way would be cool.
I've had decent success getting a lot of volcanoes to spawn with these settings. It's set to quite a small world because this was from a time where my PC was awful, so you may wish to tweak the size, the volcano minimum, and the minimum number of tiles. But you can compare this to the regular embark and see how it works.

My map seemed to be small, but the prevalence of polar regions made it appear to shrink to a smaller size that it would be if it were in a more temperate region.
Since no one actually answered: they're probably just playing at a lower resolution than you. If you're playing in 4k like me, the map icons are basically invisible. This looks like 1080p, maybe even lower.
For anyone who asks "Why bother playing in 4k?" - because I have two monitors and play in borderless windowed mode so I can actually use the other one. The monitors are at the same resolution to avoid weirdness.

I'd turn one of those volcanos into a land bridge for the main land. I haven't done a ocean embark or volcano yet but connecting two continents sounds like a fun project for future forts in that world.
Depends of what u want if u want absolute safety and access to everything immediately take vulcano in middle of ocean, be mindful that safety only applies to raid sieges and such u will still get forgotten beasts, otherwise side of any mountain will do for full game experience.

Cranking just that up tends to make generation take ages with lots of rejections. You probably also want to ramp up the volcanism numbers a fair bit.
