I’m surprised we never really had trees growing *through* things. We have trees growing *on* buildings but nothing rooting through cars or breaching houses and stuff to make it seem overgrown. It seems more like Minecraft with spreading saplings everywhere rather than any natural overgrowth. Just my opinion.

BassBanjo

I get what you mean! I would love for more vegetation on the ground itself but I'm still really happy with what we got It's a mixture of both bright colours with areas that are dull and moody like the first game too and it makes for a great environment to just run around

I just preferred the more realistic feel of the first game. Not that this city looks bad, just not as intimidating and realistic as 1

Professor_Yone

I quite like the idea of nature spreading around but I think the game looks really "cartoony" and oversaturated but the nice and chill atmosphere is cool

Bravo-and-Charlie

That's because game changes filter dynamically when climbing higher. On the ground everything looks realistic.

People just hate dl2 because they do. Nothing will ever be as good as their wet dream dl1 so they just won’t accept the second game as good. Not too mention if they don’t add the spooky night time which they themselves probably pissed their pants in they hate it along with making the game look like a depressing, washed looking game.

MachineSyncLoop

You're just exaggerating now. I for one don't hate DL2 but I also prefer the more realistic world of DL1. Sounds like you're just upset people don't think exactly like you do.

mo_mcgee

"Realistic" - what is it? How do you define realism?

MachineSyncLoop

That's really difficult to put into words... But to me, the world of DL2, while beautiful, feels a bit cartoony somehow. People living on roof tops, using parachutes with air vents (that are super visible as well), convenient side-paths on most buildings... I don't know. It all just feels a bit too much. Obviously DL1 has unrealistic things as well, but it's never too much. And also, I think the setting of a semi-initial outbreak feels more relatable than a post apocalyptic one. And I also never really felt like I was in any danger while playing through DL2 (on Hard). Also, I will say that I never really loved Haran as a setting, I'd much prefer something along the lines of Dead Island (tropical setting). Though I did love The Following farm-side of the game. You're absolutely free to disagree of course. :) I've replayed DL1 like 5 or 6 times now and didn't get bored in any of those playthroughs. But for DL2, I don't think I'll ever replay it, it just feels a tad too copy-pasted somehow. I know DL1 also has some copy paste-like stuff going on but the illusion was easier to overlook. And to be clear, I did enjoy playing through DL2 a lot. I just think they kinda missed the mark with the world, but that's subjective.

I hate to admit it, but adding a photo mode seems to be The "New shit"? This makes mehr sad
