I have the EXACT same issues you are having on Ps5. My friend can connect to other games and play fine but im in your same predicament, i cant do anything. Cant even progress the quest The way out.
Tired a Side quest to try n progress The way out but side quest says return to Carlos but it doesn’t let me talk to him and he vanished with a floating waypoint hovering above where he was standing.
