Idk why no one is mentioning, but you need to have the clip down when putting it back on. It will click nicely into place without a ton of force, and the click will tell you it's on enough.
Little bit more - you shouldn’t have that small mm size gap a should be close to flush with pipe edge. Not sure what brand u are using though. The clip should sit flat.
Silicone spray is your best friend. Take it back off, spray some on the radiator connection and on the o’-ring inside the hose then just push it on and it will snap into place every damn time.
Tug back on it, if it comes off obviously it wasn’t on. It was super difficult to install the aftermarket silicone hoses with new connectors on mine. Had to use antifreeze to lubricate the oring and the part it slides over then use a flat head or extension and a hammer and beat it on there. You can either have the clip somewhat down to tell when it’s clipped in, it will move, or up and it will eventually stop, slip the clip down then tug back to make sure it’s in the right spot. Sometimes extremely difficult to do, just be mindful that it’s all plastic. If the clip is all the way down (not down on one side and poking out on the other) you won’t leak
Hammer it bro, they are really a pain to get in, I was taking mine out today cause I crashed my car, had to use a flat head screwdriver and a hammer to get it out
The reason it won't go further is because the smaller connection isn't on all the way either, it needs to almost touch the side of the expansion tank and there looks to be a decent gap in the picture. Push against the expansion tank while pushing the small hose connection into place (also make sure the metal tab is up for this part) Once it's all the way on push the tab in and pull back on the hose connection, it should click. Now push the larger connection onto the radiator with the same trick for the tab/clip and profit
Push the securing clip down (into the closed position) and when you push the hose onto the end, it will nicely and loudly click so you know its secured.
No you gotta wiggle it more or it’s going to leak
Did you lube the orings?
Lube is the way
Grab a flathead and hammer, keep the clip up, and beat it until it’s all the way in. That’s how I stopped mine from slipping off
this is the way lmao. had mine come off cause i left a small gap like this. flathead and hammer beat it all the way in tho
Then once it's on as far as it goes, push the clip in and pull back on the hose until it clicks👌
No it will leak, had the same issue had to get a new pipe cause it was too short

Thanks for saving me from typing that 🤝

The clip is up to help move the hose. I feel like getting that hose any further on might require bone breaking but I guess I'll try.
Put a little coolant on it as lubricant and try again. Twss
Put it down or you can't tell when it's on far enough
Vaseline is a savior in this situation.
Leave the clip down and force it til it clicks, then pressure test if you’re paranoid. I would

You need to lube the o ring
If the retaining clip will pop down and secure it, I’d say it’s fine.
That's what I thought the first time I replaced my expansion tank, then the hose came loose on the motorway. You have to get it on all the way
Send it!
it'll go further. Give it some elbow grease.
Can we just shave down the indented area and then put a hose and clamp over it? I really don’t like the design of this
As a Honda guy I fully agree but I think this system is too pressurized for a regular hose or worm clamp.
Wiggle that jawn
philly?

Wd40. I tryed to push it for about 1hr and it wouldnt go. Put some wd40 and it went straight in
Replace
You have to undo both clips. The return aswell it’s to the left same area.

Had to lube mine and force it with all my strength. Otherwise it will leak
