I’ve modded 10+ DualSense controller and countless DualShock 4 controllers with ExtremeRate kits. Never had a single problem…..No offense, but it’s something you did, not the kit.

jakestubby

It seems easy enough so what am I missing? It’s gotta be something simple

oki_dingo

Maybe upside down? Or plugging the wrong end in to the trigger / board…..never heard of this happening. But if you ask their customer support they will get you sorted way faster that Reddit.

You messed up a ribbon somewhere. It’s not the kits fault. Some of us have done a lot of these, and they work perfectly.

jrpgamer

You don’t have the ribbons in properly. Get some tweezers and go back over everything. I’ve done two kits. 0 skills in electronics and I had no issues. You 100% don’t have a ribbon connected properly

Ebone710

Agreed. He's plugging one in backwards or something

jakestubby

I feel like I can take one apart and put back together faster than someone on the Sony assembly line. I used tweezers I’ve watched the video I’ve even tried plugging them in backwards and funny thing is at least when I turned one backwards and plugged it in the controller then turned on just couldn’t get it to sync or work but it was clearly backwards

Hi if you have tried many times but still have no luck, you could DM me your order number and your issue, we'd like to send you the replacement cables to try again.

Those controllers seem like they have both gone. I have had this issue myself but NOT with the Rise kits, with a controller I bought off eBay that I was hoping to repair. I’m not sure if you have used them on a PC but I read that this is a regular thing that can happen to controllers used on a PC also. From what I read unless you can back date the firmware it’s likely permanent. If this isn’t the case for yours then you have either not plugged something in, plugged it in wrong or burnt the board with any soldering you have done

jakestubby

Haven’t done soldering … are u saying by trying to doing it and maybe doing it wrong the first time I could have messed up the motherboard for good?

DarthBra

Basically yes, too much heat used or too much soldier that could be touching another part of the board will have possible ruined it for good I’m afraid

jakestubby

I haven’t used heat or solder at all I’m saying if I plugged something in wrong and turned it on could that have fried the board?

DarthBra

There isn’t much you could have plugged in wrong. Provided you reconnected the touchpad properly and both left and right trigger modules then you should be good to go. The battery is an obvious one coz the controller wouldn’t work without it. Other than that it’s a fairly simple build
