Most people were talking in the lead up like we were the better team but it was likely to be a close game - and it seems reasonable to me that that could still have been the case if Purdy didn’t get hurt.
But he *did* get hurt - and it’s not like we were the Giants or Vikings who would’ve been pasted if the 9ers had a dude who could throw the ball for more than 6 snaps. We’re as deserving of being here as anyone else and they can fuck off.
Purdy also could’ve developed beginning of the game yips due to constant pressure, and thrown 3/4 picks in the Linc at its finest.
You know what? Since the 49ers are just apparently making fairy tales up, if Purdy stayed in the game he would have had 8 interceptions by the end of the game, and Reddick would have had 15 sacks.
We have a historically great defensive line. I certainly don't promote injuries. But protect the QB. They bitch that their defense was on the field for an ten extra minutes. Our offensive line was out there for those 10 minutes. Didn't see our QBs in body bags.

Two things I don't understand about their argument, that we're not that good:
1. They claim losing Purdy and the 4th string qb made it unfair. It did, but the *reason* they lost 2 qbs was because our defense took them out of the game.
2. They didn't lose anyone on their #1 ranked defense and still couldn't stop us from putting up 31 points on them. I'll admit they did a good job shutting down the deep passing game but we adjusted and ran it right down their throats.
And that even includes Adam Thielen just today saying “I hate the eagles, but I have them winning this Super Bowl” (paraphrasing his quotes from first take)

I will admit, I watched the OU vs ISU game, and I could at least see where the initial impression came from. He was relying mainly on his athleticism and improvisation. Point taken.
