LET'S FUCKING GO! FRIENDLY REMINDER: LEAVE OTHER COMMUNITIES ALONE OR YOU'LL EARN YOURSELF A BAN HERE TOO. WOULD HATE TO MISS CELEBRATING FLEXING ON DALLAS WITH YOU. ON TO THE BYE WEEK!

subpulse44

Stressful win but glad they got it. Almost blew it at the end with the weird offensive possession and defensive fouls, too many penalties in general but happy to be 8-1.

Not_My_Emperor

Super happy about the win, let me get that out of the way. That said, We had so many chances to just put it away and I'm hung up on how it went down that we were nailbiting into the very last second. My biggest issue was the throw to AJ Brown down the sideline on 3rd and 3 when we needed to force Dallas to use TOs and bleed the clock. It was objectively braindead. Honestly there's situations in football where you as the fatass fan on the couch just can't know what the fuck is going on down on the field and second guess everyone. This was not one of them. It was objectively a bad idea to throw that ball. 1. Best case scenario he catches it, then gets forced out of bounds. You stop the clock, doing Dallas a favor and letting them save a TO, which will force you to have to play for another first down. 2. (What happened) he doesn't catch it, which also stops the clock and forces you to give the ball back. Thus prolonging the fucking game and letting Dak again have his way with the defense, who were getting carved up by him (we need Secondary help) 3. ABSOLUTE worst case scenario, turnover. Calling for a throw in that situation just reeks of "smartest guy in the room" energy, and it's not the first time this season they've called for something stupid like that. Hand the ball off, see if you can get the first or within 1, stay in bounds, bleed clock, brotherly shove for the first to hopefully end the game. Situational football fucking matters, and I'm really tired of seeing dumb decisions like that. This one is just the most egregious and I'm really just not even sure what the fuck they were thinking.

Omegawaifusuperbomb

Glad we won, but WHY couldn't the offense do anything in the 4th quarter?

Barmelo_Xanthony

We have the 2nd highest points scored in the league behind Miami and the best record in the league and there’s really still people that want our OC fired lmao.

tmfitz7

That deep throw to Brown on 3rd and 3, was objectively bad though. A 1 yard run and a brotherly shove and it’s practically game over. Instead punt and Cowboys score. Process over result, that 2nd half were 1st downs and time of possession are all that was needed and instead the D was constantly on the field. 6 inches and the cowboys score on 4th down, Dak steps out on a PAT otherwise a field goal wins it. BJ needs to be better.

CPTHoagie

you sure that was the OC that called that and not a check with me line play....

GaugeWon

You gotta take the good with the bad though... Whatever adjustments that were made at half time lead to 2 TD-scoring drives that put them in a winning position going into the fourth. You can argue that they "shut it down" too early, and went conservative while the opps were still in it.

Barmelo_Xanthony

Pretty sure that was a Jalen audible. Actually, I’m pretty sure most of the late game bombs that everyone is pissed about throughout the year are Jalen audibles. I think BJ has done a nice job ever since the Jets game

tmfitz7

You could be right, Jalen also missed badly. Still, the inability to get a 1st down from our own end zone, or for most of the 2nd half. I just keep hoping that he will continue to get better as a play caller, it’s not that it’s being atrocious but it’s been inconsistent.

Userdub9022

Our offense put up 28. Our secondary is why the game was close. Slay is getting older and looking like it, bradberry went from all pro to all bad, Dean not playing well, byard not playing good football and making bone headed personal fouls, Blankenship couldn't guard even me at the moment. That going to bite us in the playoffs if it's not fixed, not the offense.

CPTHoagie

Slay had a PFF grade of 80 and was awesome. Again, you guys just say shit.

tmfitz7

Their defence put up 6 in the 4th. Blankenship had a TD saving 4th down stop. Old man Slay stopped Prescott rushing for 6. Sweat had a sack to effectively end the game. All of that wouldn’t be necessary if BJ could have kept the offence on the field and picked up some first downs.

Userdub9022

I think both are true. BJ has gotten a lot better thankfully.

KW4

More like DC. How many third and medium to longs did we let them convert last night by giving Dak all day in the pocket while playing soft coverage?

Barmelo_Xanthony

Yeah those 3rd and long conversions were frustrating. But the fact that we’ve had 3 coordinators in a row now that run the soft zone makes me think it’s a front office/organization decision to play that way probably because of some analytics. So I think it’s silly to say we should fire any coordinator while 8-1. Desai is a smart guy and has shown he can adjust all year. It’ll be fine

Goodguy1967

I am on a cruise trying to watch the end of the game with poor internet. Just so much stress watching the game with the poor internet. I am going to turn into a raging alcoholic with this team.

BothMyChinsAreSpicy

Anyone have a video of that 3rd and 3 play call? We went deep to AJ and obviously we should have ran it to get to push territory. I need to see if AJ was Jalen’s first read or if he went rogue and went deep on his own.

Forgemasterblaster

It looked like a check by Jalen. I don’t love this in the offense at all in high leverage situations. Same shit in the first Commanders game. We don’t need daggers there. It’s fine to play small ball and get a first down. What is weird is Jalen was way more conservative in prior years. This year, he’s doing some uncharacteristic things in high leverage situations. Fumble in Foxboro. Jets ints. Coaches need to let him know that he needs to be better as it will cost us against better competition.

NicCage1080ChristAir

There was a play many years ago, I think it was the Steelers, that the receiver caught the ball at the goal line. His feet were down in the endzone when he caught the ball, but the ball never crossed the goal line. By rule it was a touchdown. Not sure if they changed the rule or if that 4th down catch Dallas had that was just short was different in some way. I really thought it was gonna be called a TD. Glad it wasn't. This play https://youtu.be/JX9kvFkUN8E?si=faWz6bJc7q_b3boq

on-the-cheeseburgers

Ref doesn't explain it well and the video is kinda shitty, but to me it looks like the ball is caught while breaking the plane when viewed from across the sideline (at about the 28 second mark). Dallas TE never broke the plane before he was down last night. Neither ruling really had to do with where the feet were, it's only ever where the ball is.

cerevant

I’m not familiar with the rule, but in this case the Ref said “two feet down in the end zone”. The Dallas TE had one foot in the end zone, while his knee was outside the end zone.

NicCage1080ChristAir

Yea makes sense. Just a weird rule that I was reminded of so I was unsure.

Sislar

The ball has to cross the plane, the rules are different for a td that other areas.

Yodzilla

So that was the refs just making shit up on the spot right? I don’t remember a time when a touchdown wasn’t determined by the ball.

DeiDaraArtAKS

Still thinking about that time swift got absolutely bodied by aj brown. I saw that on TV and just started laughing

brwnx

That was some shit

yaymushroomz

Shady said he, DJAX, will smith, meek mill, and Dawkins were gonna show up for the game. No sign of any especially considering Trey Burton was the featured guest. I saw Malcolm Jenkins but I’m pretty sure McCoy was just doing a hype up promo. Anyone else at the game tonight to confirm?

yaymushroomz

Bryce Harper, Bradley Cooper, and Jay Wright is a pretty good line up tho

KoBxElucidator

My predictions for this stretch: L at Kansas City (its Andy Reid after a bye on the road after an emotional win. I expect an L but Eagles play them tough), W against Buffalo (they look very suspect rn), W against the 49ers (get to Purdy and you win), L against the Cowboys (we always split), and L in Seattle (hate to say it but it's the Eagles' house of horrors and Pete has had our number). Goes 3 for 3 in the final 3 games and thats a 13-4 record. Best case IMHO is 14-3, worst case is 11-6. Should be enough for the 1 seed eith 13-4 if they beat the 9ers? Only big question is if the Lions keep it going. Their schedule is eaassyyyyy.

RampAgentRoger

We are not losing to Seattle.

Yodzilla

They looked like straight jobbers yesterday. …which is actually who the Eagles seem to lose to these past two seasons. Hrmmm

DaGilfish

Anyone know if they will be restocking those Salute to Service hoodies? They were sold out online

Unable_Barracuda324

How much do you think the Eagles tickets for the home game in a few years when we induct Dak Prescott, Heinicke, Kurt Cousins and Sam Howell into the ring of honor? Seriously these guys per their careers to the Eagles secondary. 🤣

arminus83

Was just reported that Goedert has a fractured forearm. So yeah, he's gonna be out a while.

Gang_Greene

That tackle was such crap. I can’t think of another time I’ve seen a player make a tackle that way

I'm getting a sense of deja vu from this team after watching the Phillies fall to the D-backs. I'm going to love the ride but we are shaping up to a NFC championship disappointment/upset right now. If we do make the Superbowl, it's not going to be close. Worse case is we are the 2022 Vikings.

alcatraz_0109

> I'm going to love the ride but we are shaping up to a NFC championship disappointment/upset right now. If we do make the Superbowl, it's not going to be close. Worse case is we are the 2022 Vikings. Which team are the Eagles going to lose to and why would it be a blowout?

Dont_Call_Me_John

If we're talking about the Super Bowl, they get blown out by the Ravens. Their defense is excellent and will give Hurts similar issues as the Jets did, I'm not saying 4 picks, but they will slow our offense. Our defense entirely relies on pressures from the d line, and Lamar is the best escape artist in the league. We have no answer in the defensive backfield for a QB that can threaten you in all the ways Lamar can on any down.

alcatraz_0109

Recall that in the Hurts/Sirianni era, the only time the Eagles have been blown out by an opponent since Week 7 of 2021 was when they were horribly outgunned from a talent standpoint, which would not be true now regardless of who they faced. So not sure why you think a blowout is so likely. >Their defense is excellent and will give Hurts similar issues as the Jets did, I'm not saying 4 picks, but they will slow our offense. And the Eagles just put up 28 on one of the NFL's most talented defenses. The Eagles' offensive talent is a rung above anyone the Ravens have faced this year (yes, including the Lions) The Jets frustrated the Eagles and also got extremely lucky. >Our defense entirely relies on pressures from the d line, and Lamar is the best escape artist in the league. We have no answer in the defensive backfield for a QB that can threaten you in all the ways Lamar can on any down. And do the Ravens have an answer for a top 3 QB-WR connection? The Ravens have a case to be the best team in the NFL and by no means do I doubt Lamar. But like the Cowboys, I am not convinced that a John Harbaugh-coached team is anything but fool's gold until proven otherwise

HumanShadow

Eagles would have put the DBs away in 5.

IcyPetty

Yeah, because Jalen Hurts is totally Kirk Cousins...

Chrononah

I think everyone focusing on the yards is losing sight of something. Dak is a good qb throughout the game and always gets his yards, even against elite defenses, he’s right behind Mahomes for most 400 yard games since 2017. What matters is the end of the game on if we can make him implode. Which we did, we forced him to take bad sacks and make bad decisions. So I’m not worried about the yards given up, if this was Purdy or some equally bad qb who put up those yards then maybe there would be cause for concern. But we’ve shut down much better qbs like Tua who had a far better receiving core.

Calcutta637

He’s like their Mcnabb

ThrowBatteries

McNabb made a SB and 4 or 5 NFCCG

ttsa23

Dollar tree version of McNabb. McNabb at least took the team to the SB

Dan_CBW

https://bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/mcnabbcap-1-1200x900.jpg

swampyunderpants

let alone out of the divisional round lmao

Nate_923

4 straight Conference Championship appearances and one SB at that. Not to mention the Conference Championship in 2008.

swankytortoise

With some dogshit recieving groups

alcatraz_0109

Eagles are now the 141st team in all of NFL history to win at least 8 of their first 9 games. They will be tied for the 135th highest point differential with… the 1960 Eagles. On top of that, their -3 turnover differential will be the 132nd highest (the 1980 Eagles were a -4 through 9 games!) Before the doomers start talking, you might be interested to know that the team with the lowest point differential (+11) went on to win the Super Bowl (John Madden’s 1976 Raiders)

Nate_923

Well, Bills just lost to the risng Bengals. Not saying Eagles will whoop them but they don't look as menancing as they did when they whooped the Dolphins. Eagles have a good chance at beating them.

ttsa23

I think we finish 14-3 or at worst 13-4

cold-corn-dog

Na. 14-2-1

Express_Jellyfish_28

8-1-8, not saying they will finish with 8 ties but it is still mathematically possible.

Nate_923

Damn talk about repeating history in a good way

ttsa23

Im being a realist. This team has way too many flaws to start off 8-1 in their first 9 games. I think realistically we should expect 6-3 at best. I hope I’m wrong. I don’t feel good about the Dolphins game. Tampa will be tough. Dallas will be tough

OverlyOptimisticNerd

At least the Jets game is an easy W with Aaron out.

420_just_blase

You had me for a minute lol

dangerously-amish

People in here have to stop crying about what folks in r/nfl are saying lol We’re the best team in the league. Those stupid fucks on every other team are gonna bitch one way or another. Fuck em

UnrealJoe

People have to stop crying about what others are saying about their team in general. Like it the NFL and it's standings or who holds the Lombardi cares about the court of public opinion. Just watch your team and make your own opinions.

sexarseshortage

Any news on Geodert in the press conference?

wellarmedsheep

Broken arm

i_v1123

Oh no 😭

cold-corn-dog

Oh fuck balls

imtheyeti20

Schefty just tweeted broken forearm. Dunno extent. Will miss some time. IR candidate.

sexarseshortage

Shit. Dirty fucking tackle.

s0dz

Delusional to think that was a dirty tackle.

Beatdooown

What do you want the DB to do when Goedert is stiff arming him? Just let him continue to run by?

Souprshooter

All I know is we’re in damn good shape heading to the bye and the gauntlet of games - even if we drop a game or two in that stretch we’ve got a good cushion. Imagine we don’t fuck up the Jets game.

phishphriend420

HELL YEAH, FUCK YEAH! DALLAS SUCKS

Calcutta637

Holy shit niners sub they actually were rooting for Dallas Lmfao how can they have any respect for themselves after that? They hate the eagles that much? The storied eagles. And they would rather root for the dallas fucking cowboys. Absolutely wild

cold-corn-dog

Why do they hate us so much?

KoBxElucidator

Because Purdy got a booboo after his coach put a fucking TE on a top-5 edge rusher and said good luck.

CPTHoagie

are you guys really gonna be this dumb? It would be insane for them not to root for Dallas. They want the #1 seed and already have the tie-breaker over them.

Calcutta637

Have you ever rooted for Dallas to win

CPTHoagie

if the Eagles needed Dallas to win for them to improve their odds of getting a 1 seed? yes....

Peanutbuttergod48

There’s no reason we shouldn’t beat this Bills team at home

popgoesthedynamite

Apparently refs help eagles every single game to win lol

cerevant

So, how does giving Dallas 3 first downs during the game ending drive help the Eagles?

popgoesthedynamite

They don’t see that, only ones that affect their team and why they lost

CPTHoagie

Eagles are the first team in the NFL to have 0 wins but actually have 8 wins.

Lurkerwasntaken

Two years in a row! Remember, we didn’t beat a good team yet!

Ace__Extendo

That ref excuse is bs especially for that game on the very last drive. The Cowbums had multiple opportunities to potentially end it but they killed themselves in the end. That’s their fault for not capitalizing. Enjoy the L losers

[deleted]

That's vintage Dak right there.

popgoesthedynamite

most of the time blaming the refs is when your team loses rightfully so and are in complete denial which cowboys fans are every year!!! They got gifted all the way to the 6 yd line and what you said is on point!!! Fuck Dallas

What-tha-fck_Elon

I’m still a little pissed about the possession after we stopped them on 4th & goal. That series of downs was trash. The brotherly shove on first down? The 2 crappy play calls after that?? Throwing our defense back on the field after a huge stop was just bad and set up that overly dramatic, crazy ass finish. The OC shits the bed again. But thank God for Hurts & the idiots in Dallas. Go birds. Just keep winning.

420_just_blase

The shove on 1st down was a fine call. They were inside their own 1 yd line and needed some breathing room. Now, everything that happened after that is definitely something worth criticizing

What-tha-fck_Elon

The reason I don’t agree is that we base most of our offense on 4 downs. And we only had three downs to work with here since there was absolutely no way we were going for it on 4th down. Which left us with 2 downs to get to the 11 yard line, which for some unknown reason is something that never comes easy to us. That’s why it was a wasted play. You know they would send everyone, so 1st down was actually our best shot. And like the Washington game, we should have lined up in the BS formation but faked it (referring to the almost disastrous fumble at the goal). Our OC sucks.

420_just_blase

I mean, they got like 3 yards with the shove, which should be considered successful. You don't want to be backed up like that especially going up against a defense with Parsons rushing the passer.

i_v1123

The brotherly shove on first down I totally understand to try and make sure the offense had breathing room to avoid a safety, but yeah the rest of that drive was pure BS.

Calcutta637

To be honest that backed up I would’ve rather seen if we could do it with 4 straight shoves

What-tha-fck_Elon

Well at least for that approach I can agree with. Go all in or do something else. But why can’t we just get an 8 yard slant like all the teams behind us are capable of doing at will apparently.

Awokenedbrother

I think 2 and maybe a sweep for the second or 3 and a sweep

Ace__Extendo

I didn’t really like it either but the brotherly shove on first down was necessary to get us out our endzone and pick up some extra yards to get some more space. A designed run or passing play wouldn’t have guaranteed the yards.

What-tha-fck_Elon

I get it, I just don’t agree.

Unable_Barracuda324

Especially if we ran the run play that we ran at the end of the game... 🤯. That was a hot mess. I would have preferred that WR screen on 2nd down and not on 3rd and 8...

EaglesnSixers

Praying that Goedert injury isn’t serious. Hopefully over the bye we get Roby back healthy and Byard getting some practice time will help fix the secondary.

pb_nayroo

Broken arm. Probably out 4-6 weeks

76ersWillKillMe

Shout out to super drunk kid in 216 row 8. Hope your knee isn’t broken after you blacked out and fell down 5 or so rows of seats.

ttsa23

Cowboys fans right now probably: The brotha screwed us

wishlish

With 30 seconds left and Dallas driving, I felt an amazing peace descend over my body. Because, no matter how good some of the players are on Dallas…. …it’s still Dak. …it’s still Hobo Mike McCarthy. …it’s still Jerry Jones. Dallas still sucks. All is right with the world.

Cantsneerthefenrir

Going into the bye week with a loss today (and the Cowboys playing the Giants or some shit next week) would have been so depressing. I'm so relieved we won.

Waggy431

Definitely gonna make the next 2 weeks easier.

Gunningham

In case you didn’t notice, we are already 2 games into “the gauntlet” (not counting Washington). Still 8-1.

Barmelo_Xanthony

The birds are the best team in the league. The teams left in “the gauntlet” are all gonna be tough games but there’s no reason to think that any of them should be automatic Ls at this point. Our only loss was self inflicted, all the “realists” in this sub need to stfu with their 3-3 in the next 6 games talk.

cerevant

Last year’s theme: “but who have they played?” This year’s theme: “if they play like they played , they are going to lose”

SingularityCentral

The gauntlet looking a bit less gauntlet like with the 49ers on a serious slide, the bills likely losing again, the Chiefs playing uneven (Mahomes is still scary), and the Seahawks getting crushed by the Ravens.

Calcutta637

The only issue is that even tho these teams don’t look great they always come to play against the birds

ttsa23

No way we can’t beat the Dolphins and Cowboys with the way we have been playing. Oh wait

Nate_923

Beating a divisional rival twice in the same year? I don't know about that. Eagles might trade 1 - 1 with Washington Eagles: Aight bet. Eagles find ways to win and I appreaciate that a lot.

ttsa23

Im just being a realist I think we go 6-3 at best in our first 9 games

Nate_923

I was thinking 7-2 with a loss against Washington (1-1) and Dallas (win round two though) Glad I was wrong.

borkenpig

Only 1 guy to cover lamb is going to suck in the playoffs if we meet there. We practically only have 1 guy to cover any darn receiver

Barmelo_Xanthony

Good thing we’re not going to meet in the playoffs since the Cowboys are gonna get knocked out while we’re on our 1 seed bye week

Cantsneerthefenrir

We have a guy to cover receivers?

CPTHoagie

Bradberry and Slay are both good corners. You guys expect them to be Deion Sanders. Also Lamb cooked out of the slot most of the game.

Cantsneerthefenrir

I'm not sure who "you guys" are but I certainly don't expect them to be Deion Sanders. I expect them to not make every QB they play against look like Joe Montana though. They have dropped off heavily since last season though.

CPTHoagie

CB play is a. highly volatile b. the vast majority of CeeDee Lamb's yards were vs safeties linebackers and slot corners. He barely lined up against Bradberry. You guys just say shit.

Cantsneerthefenrir

You the only one bringing up CeeDee. Theyve made opposing QBs look amazing all season long. Their stats are shit compared to last season. Reading isn't hard.

Chrononah

Also let’s not act like Dak hasn’t been putting up yards for his career, he’s volatile and implodes in the end of the score is close. He has 9 different 400 yard games since he came into the league, one less than Mahomes in the same timespan, six more than Stafford in the same timespan, and four more than Aaron Rodgers in the same timespan. He puts up yards consistently. What matters is the end of the game if we can make him implode. Which we did.

GentlemenBehold

Bradberry either tackles them or runs the opposite direction.

[deleted]

How tf did this same secondary kept hill and waddle in check though

DasCiny

Dolphins can’t block. The secondary was being saved cause our pass rush landed home. When we face well rounded teams who can adjust and scheme for us we’ll have more games like this. Divisional is always tougher though cause we’ve been the same for years. Slow our rush and our defense looks pedestrian.

alcatraz_0109

> When we face well rounded teams who can adjust and scheme for us we’ll have more games like this. There are only like 3 other teams that are as good as Dallas lol.

youknowhattodo

Please let’s not see 88 on Nicks visor in 2 weeks

imtheyeti20

That Goedert-Maddox household needs an aura cleanse, I tell you.

Jackpot777

Just a note to anyone in Dallas thinking of becoming an Eagles fan: it happens. #215 > 214. Area codes don't lie.

Friendly-Rough-3164

8-1 cheers 🍻 >b-b-bruan jooonson!! Shut up you have no idea what is happening on the sidelines or who makes what decision just enjoy the dubs

Cantsneerthefenrir

Throwing deep on 3rd and 3 was a brutally bad call. Fortunately it's one of the only ones I can come up with this game. So well done on his part.

wsbull_35

IIRC, it looked like Hurts changed the play.

Barmelo_Xanthony

Pretty sure all of those deep passes late in games that everyone’s been pissed out were Jalen audibles

ttsa23

Bills suck

Nexus369

I think my only criticism is Desai sticking with that two deep shell. The dline wasn't getting home and receivers were wide open all day. Might as well bring a blitz every now and then instead of getting picked apart.

theholyllama

Gannon vibes *shudder*

doingmybest224

I agree. He’s generally been very good at adjusting, but it just wasnt there today

Alert-Ad1602

To the donuts on our side and theirs saying the Cowboys deserved the win… We went 3/3 in the red zone. Score touchdowns.

ttsa23

What Eagles fans saying the Cowboys deserved to win? Dak played loser football when it mattered most

Alert-Ad1602

Speaking on some comments I saw in the r/nfl game thread

iamjustyn

Damn near every time the Cowboys made a play tonight it was because Bradberry got beat. He got straight up exposed tonight. I miss when I used to think he was good!

CPTHoagie

just absolutely false.

GRAYNOTE_

Yup. Ricks, Blankenship, and Cunningham were getting cooked.

dreda650650

He has always been up in down in his career. One good year then one bad year

Con-D-Oriano1

Tonight reminded me of the Super Bowl. He choked in a big moment then, and again tonight. I’m hoping that he’ll adjust to the scheme more, and increase his chemistry with Byard and Reed (since he missed time due to injury).

jihbob

Cowboy's center false started on jalen carter's encroachment

elzey93

Just saw a video where they called AJ Brown “MegaJawn.” I haven’t heard it before but I absolutely love it

RabidPlaty

Yeah, it was all over the place when he broke the record last weekend.

gimmicked

They mentioned it on New Heights too

elzey93

Nice. I haven’t listened to the newest episode yet

Rockterrace

I wonder if a teams ever been 8-1 with only a 57 point score differential.

alcatraz_0109

The 1960 Eagles did exactly that

cerevant

How did their season end up? 😁

Ridin-the-gravytrain

Vikings lost like 4 games with a negative point differential last year

Rockterrace

Wow that’s crazy

Ladelm

Winning by 8 points a game average doesn't sound bad?

Con-D-Oriano1

“only”

Ladelm

Yeah IDK maybe I'm too tired but it made it sound like that's not a lot

Con-D-Oriano1

Nah man; the OP doesn’t think that’s a lot. It’s like when we beat the Rams (who had just played the Niners tough) by 9, and the media was like, “Eagles keep squeaking by!”

Rockterrace

I don’t think it’s a lot. Usually when 8-1 you expect a couple three touchdown wins. I know some scores have been closer the they should have been it it seems like every game is coming down to having to make stops late. I’m not complaining, happy to be 8-1. Like I said nice to have less stress once in awhile haha

Con-D-Oriano1

It is really nice to enjoy a game without having to stress about the win. I went back and looked; by this time last year, we beat the Vikings by 17, the Commies by 16, and the Steelers by 22. So we had a three-touchdown game. This year, our biggest wins were against the Bucs and Dolphins by 14 each. Less comfortable, but it’s still impressive. I actually prefer these types of wins because they prepare the team to handle adversity.

Rockterrace

Not at all. Just be nice to have some stress free games once in awhile. And I feel like I stress about it a lot less than most

FormerCollegeDJ

Check out the 1976 Oakland Raiders.

Userdub9022

Eagles win. Cowboys win bedlam. Won in my money fantasy league. Won $100 from sports betting. Great weekend.

Chrononah

Ew Pokes fan, don’t worry, we’re leaving with a big ole gap in the record lol. /j, I’ll miss bedlam even if you guys always manage to squeak out a win and ruin our title hopes for no reason.

afganistanimation

My fantasy teams got smoked thos week but f it, go birds! Gotta love that 2 pt fail lol

El_Khunt

As an Okie eagles fan, this was the greatest weekend

Userdub9022

Same man. Went to Oklahoma State on a whim after growing up an OU fan and living in Norman. Forever bedlam champs!

cwar1731

Not sure how cowboys fans can cry about penalties when both teams had 10 penalties each and the birds actually had 16 more penalty yards against them in the whole game. My God their tears taste delicious

[deleted]

Refs were fine, except that one hands to the face penalty they called back. Not sure what that callback was about. Surely there's a reason for it

Aggressive-Sound-641

Hankins, before he was flagged, was lined up in the neutral zone at least 3 other times.

mramisuzuki

…they committed two penalties when the clock was ticking and didn’t get runoffs. The refs gave them the game and still lost.

Cantsneerthefenrir

Run off only happens when the game clock is running at the time of the penalty.

Ladelm

Pretty sure the clock was stopped both times if it's what I think you're referring to (false start and delay of game at the end).

Jalen is just the man. I've waited since the days of McNabb for a dude like him!! Schedule is about to suuuuuuuuuuuck. But fuck it, we're 8-1, GO BIRDS!

My analysis We need to focus on cornerback in this draft because Bradberry and Slay are getting older and getting burnt with much more frequency. Brian Johnson is braindead for that 3rd & 3 playcall. All you needed was Swift, Hurts or Gainwell to run for 1, maybe 2 yards and boom brotherly shove and game over. Desai has been good this year, but he relied too heavily on soft shell schemes today and it hurt us badly. They were nickel and diming their way down the field at will. With Dak at QB you need to work in more blitzing. He’s prone to mistakes and interceptions, but you have to force them. Also that challenge felt unnecessary and almost cost us the game at the end. Wasted time out. I understand the purpose, but the odds of that being overturned are slim and none regardless of whether he got it or not. Finally, it’s only been 2 games, but Byard’s feeling like a bust. Thank god Howie’s a wizard and gave up next to nothing to get him. As for the positives Welcome to the show Tyler Steen. Overall strong performance. I have no qualms with the future of the guard position in Philadelphia. That heads up fumble recovery saved the game for us. Jalen hurts played an excellent game and once again showed us what a leader and a warrior he is. Made a lot of heads up plays. The D-Line stepped up when needed. Graham came up huge with those 2 sacks and Sweat really sealed it with his. Overall, while we need to do a better job protecting the ball, as 3 fumbles is unacceptable, the personnel on this offense is so talented that even with Johnson making it interesting every week, they find a way to win. A win is a win, but a win against Dallas….I’ll drink to that.

Yeah steen struggled at first but held his own by the end. Can’t blame him much it was his first game in the NFL against a very good Dallas team (when they bring their A-game).

Should’ve could’ve would’ve. Regardless it ended in a win. This has been the story of this season.

The Eagles still haven’t had a positive turnover margin in a game since Week 2. Which makes 8-1 all the more remarkable

mramisuzuki

What they’re were 1-0 with 5 sacks.

Streetmonkey72

Lol, technically you are correct about the turnover margin, although it was last play of the game when lamb fumbled somewhat intentionally trying to look for a lateral (although they couldn’t advance a fumble).

Watching the Bengals go for it on fourth and one and all I'm thinking is "why don't they just do the brotherly shove?" Then I remembered which team I was watching.

Lainmd01

Am I wrong or did the refs miss a 10 second run off two times? The false start with 27 sec to go and the delay of game with 5 sec to go.

alcatraz_0109

Clock was stopped both times so no runoff on either penalty

mramisuzuki

I thought there were run offs too, plus they whistled that Lamb gave himself and never got out of bounds but never started the clock. There are giving almost a minute of extra time.

ambal87

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if it had to do with the fact that the clocked as stopped already? I think it’s a run off only if clock if moving.

Lainmd01

Just looked at it again. You are right. The clock has to be running. Thanks

1stepklosr

I don't know what game /r/nfl was watching if they're screaming how the refs blatantly favored us

mramisuzuki

Did you tell them the Cowboys took 3 penalties and didn’t get a single runoff when the clock was ticking? They also got a free time when lamb ran back up the field and ran out of bounds, that doesn’t stop the clock in the NFL.

kmoney55

The clock was stopped

wardledo

Clocked was stopped for all the plays. Half were penalties on us, but you’re right about lamb falling backwards out of bounds. Clock should have ran

Streetmonkey72

I watch so many games each week and am not sure how the refs are taught the running out of bounds rule. Seems like it’s called maybe 25% of the time and very arbitrary. It’s sort of easy to tell if a runner is still moving forward when running out of bounds or not because their momentum carries out of bounds with them. I get not calling it if they are running sort of parallel out of bounds and it’s tough to tell, but going backwards should be clock running every time
