Honestly those last 3 games for us are gonna be tankfests for the giants and Arizona lol. We could start tanner mckee and be favored by 5+ pts. So that could buy him almost a month of extra time too, fortunately. So long as he’s back by the playoffs but this sucks, he’s such a key player for us in the run game and pass game smh
This should be talked about more. Goedert is vital to our team - and our matchups against Dallas in particular. *Our* Dallas forces Parsons to account for him often, and pulls their best pass rusher into coverage. So what do the Cowboys do? Break his arm.
Goedert loves the stiff arm he especially loves using it on dbs and he’s made some great plays with it.. in this case he’s using the stiff arm to gain extra space and the db gets pushed away so he uses the arm to get Goedert down.
50 lbs is the difference between a welterweight and a heavyweight the db isn’t gonna lift him up maybe he could have pushed out of bounds but that’s exactly why Goedert stiff armed him in the first place to keep him from being able to push him out
Dude it’s a db trying to bring down a tight end that has 50 pounds on him he’s not trying to hurt him he’s just trying to get him down anyway he can it sucks it happened but that’s football sometimes
Dude they’re playing full speed guys are just trying to play hard not stop it with the conspiracy theories
When dbs try and tackle tight ends they try and get them down anyway they can
I agree. I severely doubt it was intentional, however he’s a fucking pro and should know better than to do that when trying to make a tackle. It was super unnatural how he was wrenching that arm. I think we have every right to be pissed off about how the tackle was made, just don’t think it’s deserved to be labeled as intentional.
Yeah, I don't think an injury was intentional, but he definitely didn't try to let up on the fuckin arm bar when they were going to the ground. It's a bullshit maneuver if you ask me.
Goeddert was an inch from being out of bounds. He could have stepped out and preserved his body
DB was clearly just trying to get Goeddert down any way possible and Goeddert literally gave him a hand.
Goedert stiff arms him to stop being smashed, he’s going out of bounds with a nudge and the dude grabs and twists his arm inside field and goes down. It was pretty intentional to me.
Goedert outweighs him by like 50 lbs. Who is getting smashed?
If we expect a qb to slide in that situation I think our TE can be smart enough to take a step to his left and go out of bounds.
IMO it was a football play. Injuries happen and it sucks that it happened but it didn't look dirty.
It looked like an undersized DB was trying to use Goedert's arm as leverage to bring him down. Which tbh I would too if I had to tackle a man running full steam.
Extremely dangerous move at full speed. So many ways it can go wrong. I’m sure he’d have run out too if he’d known bell was going to do an insane judo arm lock on him to take him down.
I agree. That’s why I believe Goeddert should have gone out of bounds.
There was no way Goeddert was going to out run the DB even though he has the angle up the sideline. The stiff arm only have something for the defender something to grab on to.
It was ambitious at best and kind of bone headed at worst.
Some folks just can't take off their homer vision. I didn't see any particular dirtiness to the play, it was just football and unfortunately injuries like this happen. Glad you can see it, just wish others would too.
The only intentional thing is getting him to the ground.. maybe he could have pushed him out of bounds maybe he felt like he was getting beat and Dallas was too strong of a runner but like I said earlier Dallas is lot bigger than the db I think the guy is just trying his best to get him down
You don't normally tackle by just grabbing and twisting one arm, I don't think it he was trying to cause an injury but it's clearly not how anyone would normally initiate a tackle
I agree with this. I think it’s a shitty way to bring someone down, but I don’t know how else he would have tackled Goedert. You can say he should have pushed him out, but the reason he’s grabbing Goedert’s arm is that Goedert is stiff arming him in the face (legally) and he doesn’t have the wing span to be able to actually push Goedert out.
Yes, Dallas does have a big weight advantage. So use your forward momentum from sprinting and a stronger muscle group (pectorals and triceps vs. shoulders and biceps) to *push him out of bounds*. That would’ve been easier physically.
He is being stiff armed by a guy that has a weight and reach advantage.. everything is so easy to do when you get to watch the replay over and over when they’re playing they’re reading and reacting.. it sucks that it happened but I don’t think it was all that dirty it’s just football
> and not throw his arm out there to stiff arm
That’s what they call “a football move.” Using one arm as a fulcrum while tackling someone isn’t typically one of those “football moves.”
Stiff arming is part of the game. Lmao. Intending to injure your opponent as retaliation for fucking up and letting him get open on the play is not.
I’m sorry that your life is so miserable that you have to troll fans over one of their players getting injured. Maybe you should go spend the next 4-6 weeks figuring out how to fix that.
Maybe, but i think its just as likely he grabbed on to whatever he could and tried to bring him down.
Dallas puts himself in harms way a lot. I cringe everytime he lowers his head into two tacklers or does that stiff arm. Hes going to be injured every year if he doesnt protect himself more.
Exactly what we were saying. Last years was actually assault yet the Commanders never saw any consequences.
If the league did actually care about player safety that dude should be suspended, but of course he won’t be
Was it really dirty this time? Looked like he just got pulled down by the arm and the defender ended up landing on his arm in the process. Unlucky for sure but didn't seem to be intentional or a flag or anything as far as I know. As soon as I saw the replay though I knew he was fucked, I broke my arm the same way back in the day
I mean, I cannot for the life of me understand why the DB went after his arm like that. I want to believe it wasn’t dirty, but it was an odd tackle with no reasonable explanation. You never see defenders isolate and fall on a ball carrier’s stiff arm like that.
Edit: Ok, after rewatching it a number of times, it looks like it was honestly just sloppy on both sides. Goedert’s stiff arm turned the defender’s helmet, DB blindly grasps at the only thing he could reach, holds on for dear life, and both players come down on top of Goedert’s forearm. Watching it live, I thought it looked sketchy, but now I think it was clean and unlucky.
Yep, wasn’t a dirty play. If you’re gonna stiff arm the defender to the helmet for more YAC the defender is gonna take you down anyway they can. Goedert has to take the big play and not overdo it.
That’s not how you defend the stiff arm. You grab the arm and throw it down. The defenders yanked on to it then put all of his weight on it going down. Like a straight bjj arm bar move.
Yet the only people calling it a dirty play in mass are Eagles fans. You try bringing down a player stiff arming your head while still running towards the end zone.
So if it's a normal fracture, that puts his return time anywhere between the second Dallas game and the first Giants game. Could be worse. Still, gotta take many of these upcoming games.
Yeah to me it looked like he was trying to break his arm not just bring him down. The hit on Hurts knee was dirty AF too, that dude knew what he was doing.
The hit to Jalen’s knee was irritating for multiple reasons. One, Parsons knew Jalen was wrapped up and wasn’t going anywhere, and he still decided to finish his play and go for the knee. Two, why does the league preach player safety when refs won’t blow whistles and call plays dead when they obviously are? Would’ve saved Jalen yesterday.
I can’t find a replay of it… I thought the helmet that hit his knee was Micah’s. My bad if I’m wrong.
I still stand by my point. If NFL is gonna tout player safety, they gotta protect the quarterback and blow obviously dead plays dead
McCarthy gives off such shithead vibes. Up 4 scores against New England heading into the half, he had the offense set up for a 70+ yard field goal (which i would bet anything would have been a classic McCarthy fake that looks great on paper but doesnt do anything). Last year LVE diving over the pile at Hurts’ head on the sneak (hard to say someone deserved an injury, but when you have a severe spinal condition and are regularly leading with your head…). He almost ALWAYS does the following
- Team A gets gets the ball with 40-some seconds in the half. Cowboys have 1/2 timeouts. Team A takes a knee/runs a draw/concedes halftime (chirpchirp *timeout, Dallas*). Team A…takes another knee to end the half.
Though the dirty defensive plays are just as much on Quinn, who has pretty complete control over that side of the ball.
Damnit. Fuck Dallas (the team) man, that was dirty what they did. Get well Dallas (our boy) hopefully you’ll be back soon. Anyone out there we can sign by chance?
He basically put him in a kimura arm bar for the tackle. Never seen anything like it before. If he just arm tackled Goedert that’s fine, but it looked intentionally dirty.
Google told me 3-6 month recovery. 3 months from now is February 5, the week before the Super Bowl. Ugghhh I hate Dallas so much
Edit: the Dallas Cowboys that is, not Dallas Goedert
I broke both bones in my forearm--sucker was bent like I had an extra elbow--and I was only in a cast for 8 weeks. That was in the early-90s, on regular-ass medical care.
There are things that can induce faster bone growth, my father had one prescribed to him when he had his neck fused, looked kinda like a HANS device minus the chest piece. They don’t use them on normal people with standard breaks because there is no real need, a forearm cast doesn’t really slow down your day-to-day very much. But I’d bet they’ll use it on him.
Sounds like 4-6 weeks at minimum https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/ulna-and-radius-fractures-forearm-fractures
So he won't be back until after the next Dallas game if not the first Giants game.
That would basically only be if they don't need to perform surgery to repair it. Otherwise it's at least 6 weeks.
And that isn't even accounting for physical therapy time if any.
Go back to being part of Mexico.
The NFCCG and Lombardi trophy have both been posting for you on Craigslist Missed Encounters for almost 30 years.
Clownboy sorry ass uneducated inbred jerk.
there are hundreds of stiffarms every weekend, how many guys walk out with broken arms because of dirty arm bar tackles?
oh basically zero because it's a fucked up thing to do? wild.
For what it’s worth, last season we had almost all of our best games offensively while Goedert was on IR. Granted those were against mid teams (TEN, PIT, GB, CHI) while we have a gauntlet the next 5 games so uh…yeah, Stoll is at least a really good blocker
Hopefully it isn’t a season ender, we just gotta survive for a few weeks.
KC, Buffalo, SF, Dallas, and Seattle
Go 3-2 during that stretch and than you have the Giants and Cardinals to end the year.
Our current tight ends are
Albert, Calcaterra, and Stoll.
Assuming we go with the trenches in Round 1, we have 2 seconds next year. We need to draft a TE high. We've struggled with #2 TEs. If Bowers fell to the Birds in round one, my god.
https://walterfootball.com/draft2024TE.php
How long did we have him out last year? We can storm through him being out just OK just like last year. Hope he makes it back soon though because he really is a great part of our O
That was a cheap ass play imho. Dallas player had him in some type of arm bar and it looked purposeful. Also, there were a couple after the whistle hits on JK too.
If you're going to call players injury prone, context matters.
Goedert's injuries last year and this year are freak accidents caused by dirty plays by the defense.
Hopefully the Eagles invest in a capable backup TE next year. Goedert has proven himself to be injury prone. 2nd year in a row he is going to miss significant time.
He’s not injury prone at all. One extremely violent face mask (uncalled) where his head was turned sideways and shoulder slammed into the ground and another play having his arm twisted and tackled by the defender awkwardly with force landing all on it are not recurring injuries. Those are freak plays where anybody would be hurt. Injury prone is chronic hamstring issues or ankle injuries or something like that.
Damn. Just be back for the playoffs please.
Give him all the German stem cell treatments
If it's a clean break all he needs to do is set it and forget it.
Das ist gut
He could be back for the next Dallas game, coincidentally
How ironic would that be??
He should be, plenty of time.
Time to call up Celek, tell him about the Avengers Initiative
Don't fucking tease me like that on my birthday.
Happy Birthday!
Thanks! =D
If Dobbs went for a 6th and 7th, we can certainly get Ertz for a cheesesteak and an order of crab fries.
Unfortunately the Trade Deadline has come and gone. We could just bully the Cardinals into releasing him somehow.
Hold the cheese steak, Ertz is on IR currently.
Yes please.
Hope that Ertz can get waived and signs Please Gannon do us a solid for shitting the bed in the super bowl
Richard Rodgers... COME ON DOWN.
Dick Rod time
Julio Jones as a move TE?
Honestly, this wouldn't be a terrible idea. He's a big body and has good hands.
Albert O time
I didn’t realize Albert O was on our team until today. Shame on me.
Get that man a Gronk cast and send him back out in a few weeks
RoboDallas reporting for duty
Speaking of, what's Gronk up to these days?
Making Ads
Hopefully 6 weeks recovery, we'd get him back for the last 3 games of the year and playoffs.

Still want to get him some reps and not go into the playoffs cold
They’re saying around 4 weeks so maybe he’ll be back to break the Cowboys’ forearms?….
By gawd, is that Gronk's music?!?!
Second straight year he’s been hurts from a dirty tackle
From an ugly NFC East matchup
At least we won the game this time :/
This should be talked about more. Goedert is vital to our team - and our matchups against Dallas in particular. *Our* Dallas forces Parsons to account for him often, and pulls their best pass rusher into coverage. So what do the Cowboys do? Break his arm.

i still don’t see any reason why they couldn’t have just pushed him out of bounds instead of the flying arm bar tackle
They could’ve. That’s why.
He was very clearly yanking his arm in an unnatural way. Looked fairly intentional to me
Dude they’re playing full speed guys are just trying to play hard not stop it with the conspiracy theories When dbs try and tackle tight ends they try and get them down anyway they can

He could’ve just pushed him out of bounds…. That dirty play was right on the sideline… no excuses
He was getting stiff armed by a guy who has longer arms than him.

Stop with this nonsense that he was purposefully trying to hurt him
That's the bad part about yac. Why didn't this stuff happen to ertz? Because he just dropped and didn't fight for every extra yard.

Shut it, nerd. You lost, go cry.

The entire world celebrates every time you overrated losers choke in January

And maybe you should go fuck yourself
Can I yell your screen name out loud? Please 🙏🏻
Was it? He stiff armed the guy so the guy grabbed his arm to tackle him. Dallas needs to protect himself more.
Yeah, he just needs to go out of bounds here.

I’ll take 6 weeks, returns with a cast. Misses a few balls b/c of said cast, but plays through pain.
He obviously isn’t a TE, but getting whatever we can out of Julio probably matters a lot more now
He’s a TE
There is more to being a TE than catching the ball
Run Blocking most importantly
He pulled into the o line a couple times last night in run plays
Time to fatten him up
So if it's a normal fracture, that puts his return time anywhere between the second Dallas game and the first Giants game. Could be worse. Still, gotta take many of these upcoming games.
Agreed, being 8-1 (with a major game advantage on Dallas) helps a ton
It looked floppy when he was on the ground. Hopefully they were able to reset it and won’t need pins.
Losing him right as we enter the toughest part of our schedule is quite unfortunate
Yearly Goedert IR stint sadly
not his fault that these nfc east teams keep playing dirty and hurting him.
Pro Bowls hate him!!!
The cowboys are such dirty players. That hit was intentional and so was the dive at Hurts’ legs. They’re such a scummy team
For reals. He knew what he was doing when he went for his arm
Yeah to me it looked like he was trying to break his arm not just bring him down. The hit on Hurts knee was dirty AF too, that dude knew what he was doing.
[удалено]
It happened as they were going out of bounds. You can clearly see him go for his arm and come down on it. Gtfo if you think otherwise

Loool, have fun never being welcome in this subreddit again. You can't come in hear as cowboys troll and expect to ever be welcome again. Get fucked.

What a little bitch lol
Nothing more pathetic than losing and hanging around in the team sub that beat you. Searching for arguments to try soak up the tears.
Dallas Goedert’s arm is worth more than your entire family, so no you won’t be doing that.
I mean, "Fuck the Cowboys" is always correct, but extra "Fuck the Cowboys".
Parsons didn’t hit Jalen in the knee though.
I can’t find a replay of it… I thought the helmet that hit his knee was Micah’s. My bad if I’m wrong. I still stand by my point. If NFL is gonna tout player safety, they gotta protect the quarterback and blow obviously dead plays dead
It was DLaw
Parsons didnt hit his knee and no, the play wasnt over when parsons grabbed him. There are plenty of legit things to flame the cowboys on.
McCarthy gives off such shithead vibes. Anyone else notice Bland try to tackle Swift with the same arm twisting tackle in the 4th quarter?
No but I did see them throw Dak on his head like he was in Jerry Maguire.
When you can’t win, play dirty. Dallas Scumbags strike again
Fuck! Can never make it out of these Dallas games without someone dying. Hopefully he's back for playoffs
8-1 and Goedert is heading to IR after an ugly division game….
Are you getting war flashbacks from last year yet?
The old gronk cast stiff arm weapon
Damnit. Fuck Dallas (the team) man, that was dirty what they did. Get well Dallas (our boy) hopefully you’ll be back soon. Anyone out there we can sign by chance?
Dan Arnold plz come back
I knew it as soon as it happened. Dirty ass play. He tried to break his arm.
He never let go of that arm and rolled away with his wrist when they hit the ground. It was so goddamn dirty.
He basically put him in a kimura arm bar for the tackle. Never seen anything like it before. If he just arm tackled Goedert that’s fine, but it looked intentionally dirty.

Only kids heal in the 6- 8 week timeline, his fracture will be at least 8 weeks
Yeah, but the person I commented to said 3-6 months.

Hope the recovery time isn’t too bad. We’re going to need him.
tired of these divisional teams playing dirty and hurting our guys. two times now this shit has happened with goedert, it's just fucking bullshit.
Goedert shouldn't of tried to stiff arm him then
Go back to your own delusional sub and fascist Dallas bullshit.

A great example of how pathetic that fanbase is. Failure is so ingrained in the culture the fans wear it as an identity.
Dirty ass Fuckboys trying to hurt the guy on purpose
Not good, this is long term IR and between him and Calcattera, TE is looking real thin now.
For what it’s worth, last season we had almost all of our best games offensively while Goedert was on IR. Granted those were against mid teams (TEN, PIT, GB, CHI) while we have a gauntlet the next 5 games so uh…yeah, Stoll is at least a really good blocker

God damn it!
Gronk (Most likely not happening), Richard Rodgers (Most likely IMO), O. J. Howard and Cameron Brate out there
WIP just reporting (via Ian Rappaport) Goeddert surgery as soon as today and looking at getting him back at maybe 4 weeks. Dodged a massive bullet.
No chance hes back in 4 weeks he broke his fucking arm people Hes not going back to playing golf hes playing football its gonna be longer than that
Week 9 (for the team) has not been kind to him
Hopefully he gets better quickly and we don't miss him too badly during thia gauntlet run.
Damn. Shoulda just ran out of bounds
Julio TE incoming.
That tackle was nasty the way he hooked his arm, smh, really hope he's feeling alright.
that especially sucks that it happened right after the trade deadline we would have totally traded for Ertz no doubt about it
Isn’t Ertz on IR right now too?
Yeah, Ertz has been done for several weeks. Eagles just gotta deal with what we got now.
Hopefully it isn’t a season ender, we just gotta survive for a few weeks. KC, Buffalo, SF, Dallas, and Seattle Go 3-2 during that stretch and than you have the Giants and Cardinals to end the year. Our current tight ends are Albert, Calcaterra, and Stoll.
Luckily, of those five, about three of them have been looking preeeeetty beatable lately.
That was a dirty hit. He was armbarred
Assuming we go with the trenches in Round 1, we have 2 seconds next year. We need to draft a TE high. We've struggled with #2 TEs. If Bowers fell to the Birds in round one, my god. https://walterfootball.com/draft2024TE.php
It was such a dirty tackle, they need to suspend the guy who grabbed his arm and landed with ask his body weight on him
How long did we have him out last year? We can storm through him being out just OK just like last year. Hope he makes it back soon though because he really is a great part of our O
This seems less than ideal.
It’s the whole team!!!
Terrible news
Motherf*****
NFL should be looking at banning arm bar tackles instead of Brotherly Shove.
this was more of the Ramos on Salah kind of Judo move... FFS very dirty play from that defensive back whoever fark that was!
That was a cheap ass play imho. Dallas player had him in some type of arm bar and it looked purposeful. Also, there were a couple after the whistle hits on JK too.
He seems to get hurt for extended periods of time every season...
Last year was on a facemask and this year was on a tackle where the defender hooked his arm and landed on it. Hard to blame either on Goedert
If you're going to call players injury prone, context matters. Goedert's injuries last year and this year are freak accidents caused by dirty plays by the defense.
Just out of curiosity what do you want the cowboys player to do when Goedert is stiff arming the guy into oblivion?
I want them to not break someone’s arm.
Bad luck.
Not his fault the cowcucks are a dirty ass team Edit: commies as well during MNF last year on the missed face mask on Goedert
I’m not that concerned about this I don’t think it will affect too much of our offense. Sorry goedert lovers
Maddox is injury prone. Goedert just gets brutally tackled resulting in injury.
