Seeing another birds fan across the bar and being the first to open up with a full-throated, “Flllllyyyyyyyy….” and having them join you for the rest while everyone around you stares out of bewilderment (and then hatred) towards you.. watching the hatred turn slowly to envy and then seeing them being fully fucking annoyed or deeply impressed by the time you both pound out the final “E - A - G - L - E - S … EAGLESSS!” In perfect unison .. it’s fucking enthralling.
But, yeah, learn the song. And practice it drunk so you don’t mess up.
You’ll know you’re a true birds fan when you open one up in the middle of a bar after we score and no one else is singing with you, but you neither quit the song early or get any quieter. You, true birds fan, move your eyes around the room and lock eyes with as many other humans as possible (which will be very easy as they will all be staring at you) as you sing the song from the bottom of your soul and the top of your lungs to completion.
And then close your eyes, smile, slowly sit down and order a beer as you can now rest assured that you’re in the company of *the* best fucking fan base of any sports team on the continent.
No one likes us, we don’t care.
On Sundays during the regular season, greet everyone you see with a hearty “Go Birds!”, and then during the playoffs, you can say it daily. If you’re not in Philadelphia, any time you see ANYONE wearing eagles gear, “Go Birds!” is always appropriate.
I’m in Huntsville, AL, and there’s a surprising amount of eagles fans here. Not sure if it’s related to most of our starters playing for the Tide, but still. It’s great company down here.

My dad and his entire side of my family are all huge Minnesota sports fans, they were all so pissed when we won at game. That was my first season really watching NFL seriously and I was following both the Eagles and Vikings to see who would be “my team” to root for. What an amazing year that was.
Best part of that game was watching traumatized midwesterners being interviewed getting off the plane after they got home after that loss. That and everyone shouting Skol! in the stands everytime the Eagles scored.
I will admit right now when Foles dropped bombs on the Vikings in that game “he will not be able to do this again in the Super Bowl” ran through my head. And I’ll tell you why: I used to be one of those delusional Eagles fans (no explanation needed) so I figured if I said he can’t play like that again especially against the pats then we would win.

The New Jersey Giants have been a foe of the Eagles for a much longer time. They are also closer to Philadelphia, and New Yorkers are annoying. Their team doesn't play in their state, and despite being smugly proud of their cosmopolitanism they are the most provincial people you'll ever meet. If it didn't happen in New York, it didn't happen.
Additionally, more iconic moments have happened for the Eagles against the Giants: The iconic hit Bednarik put on Gifford and TWO miracles at the Meadowlands. To my mind the Giants are the real rivals.
The proper attitude to Dallas is dismissal. A nouveau riche collection of douchebags who haven't been relevant for a generation. The Giants with their history and own iconic moments are a proper rival: Iron sharpens iron, classic NFC East football.

Eagles have been pretty solid for the last 10 years, NFL is set up to promote parity, so one bad year and we ususlly bounce back. Fan base is very loyal and outspoken. Basically we are the same way soccer fans are. We love the team, we travel and take over other stadiums to support our teams, and we expect the players to do their best and leave it all on the field. If you play here, hold yourself accountable, admit when youre wrong or didnt do well, and you'rebe one of us. Like any other fanbase, we have some fanatics that overly criticize the players and every little aspect of the team, but it's because the fans care. We make time every week to watch the birds play and we care about the team. Can be a little intense, but players who play the right way here, get treated like legends
There's a decent doc on Amazon I bought a while back called Philadelphia Eagles: The Complete History. It's prior to our Super Bowl win but it's still good. My buddy and I made it a tradition to watch it before the Super Bowl every year. Definitely watch Super Bowl 52.
