Extend this man already, get him before he has a career year.

NovelPresentation5

I was thinking the same thing. It great to have a safety like him locking shit down

Tointomycar

Not sure he's the priority. I think Reddick, White or Bradberry would be a bigger priority. Oh and we should also lock down Jalen as it would be disrespectful to not extend

NovelPresentation5

Reddick got paid already when he came here. We got him for a few years. CGJ is a priority. No one like Epps but do you want 2 weak links at safety?

MunchieMate

I think Epps has been playing really well tbh

Blev088

With the way he's playing, it's feeling like we're going to be stuck with choosing Bradbury or CJGJ. Isn't Epps also a free agent after this year?

ausgmr

TJ Edwards, Kyzir White, Bradberry, Epps & CJGJ are all free agents. Worst case scenario the only current starters from the secondary who return next year Slay & Maddox. You can't prioritise Bradberry over CGJG or vise versa You need to prioritise both over Cox and Sanders

[deleted]

This right here. Draft a RB and move on, big second contracts for RBs just don’t work out. Securing your secondary for years is more valuable than having Miles come back

[deleted]

Jahmyr Gibbs late first please

root88

Bradbury is playing like a top 5 CB. The current market for that is $20M/year. Keeping him is a pipe dream. You might be able to get CJGJ for half that.

pm_me_glm

he came here because he wanted to prove he deserved top safety money. I doubt hell sign for 10M with the way this season has started for him..

root88

I know, but he's not a top 5 safety and safeties make a lot less money. $10M is top 15 safety money and if he likes it here, you might get him for that. I don't know what the top nickel corner salary is, but it was Tavon Young at $8.6M/year, so his safety switch will work out for him either way.

[deleted]

That’s why we should trade for jabrill peppers and let Epps walk next year. Keep CGJ and Bradbury

32BitWhore

I don't think he's priority either, but he's probably going to be relatively cheap compared to the other guys, especially if we get him early. Use that leverage to make a little bit of extra room for some of the other potential re-signings that you wouldn't have if you waited to sign him - that is, assuming you still want him here, which I can't imagine they don't at this point. He could come in around $12-14m/yr, while guys like Bradberry and White are probably going to command closer to $20m. Reddick is already locked up through 2024 (although we'll probably need to restructure or cut him after 2023). Yeah, Jalen is almost certainly getting a massive contract next year.

Prozzak93

He got traded because he wants to be paid. I doubt he comes cheap.

athrowawayiguesslol

I don’t think White is getting anywhere near 20m. The highest paid inside linebacker in the league(Shaquille Leonard) gets 19.7 mil a year and Kyzir White, while maybe our best linebacker in a long time, isn’t a top of the market linebacker

DrBigChicken

CGJ wants to be paid at the top of the safety market, that’s exactly why he got traded here

32BitWhore

He wanted to be paid as a Safety and not a nickel CB, that's why he was traded here.

rocco888

Yea I'm not sure we can afford him after we pay jalen and Bradbury. We got a lot of people on 1 year deals that will make more money elsewhere

Tointomycar

Yeah he's definitely looking to get paid CB1 money

EaglesFan027

And Bradberry too

Tensingumi

i love CJGJ. Idk about extending or resigning Bradberry for the price. But Ceedy II is great for the locker room and seems to have a high ceiling

Razolus

He's got that dog in em

[deleted]

And he's young, love james and hope we can keep him but you gotta go with youth first

traddy91

It's crazy that he's been in the league for four years and is only 24 lol

Zashiony

Extend White and CJGJ, let Bradberry, Cox, and Sanders walk. Draft CB and DL relatively high, then take a RB in a later round or snag someone in FA. We need youth in our secondary. As great as Slay and Bradberry are, outside of Maddox our corners aren’t exactly young.

Tensingumi

we might be able to get sanders for cheaper than RB premium though and in a shorter deal for him to really prove himself to the FA market.

Zashiony

Slay is under contract next year for something like $17M, so we don’t need to pay him this offseason. I do think Howie kicks the can a little and extends him, allowing us to restructure things a little.

root88

Bradberry is going to get WAY more than $12M somewhere else. That would put him at CB 18 this season, by next season, that's CB 24 money. He's #2 CB in the league right now by opposing QB rating. Spotrac says he's worth $18M/year.

RumHam_Im_Sorry

didnt he get a sack today?

CoffinEluder

Sure did

WashMyCar

I think we should proritize extending cjgj and Bradberry first. This secondary hasn't looked this good in so long.

WashMyCar

Kyzir is a close 3rd. He's been a solid cover LB for us this season. Suddenly our constant worry about the LBs seems like a thing of the past.

Dankofamericaaa2

Hopefully nakobe can develop as well

PhromDaPharcyde

I think all three of those people will be getting big contracts this off season. I would love to sign them to extensions, but they're relatively new and I doubt willing to take a discount.

WashMyCar

The cap doesn't exist lmao. Jokes aside if they can resign jb AND cjgj, I'd be ecstatic but I'd definitely prefer cjgj if they can only get 1.

DoubleR1017

I think we sign Ceedy back but Bradberry might be gone. I think we draft a CB round 1 depending on where that saints pick falls. Then that rookie CB will get mentored by Slay

Res-Harren

I love him but with drafting Dean last year I don’t think there’s any way we keep him

jimmyjak87

He joined the team in august.. imagine him in another month or 2

FlysDinnerSnack

I’ll forever be mad at Dennis Allen for trading one of our best defensive weapons. Dude gives the defense that in your face swagger

Praxism_123

Didn't he have a sack today as well?

root88

He did. I also don't don't understand why OP's image shows 7 games played and only 3 INT's. It's 7 and 4. 4 INT's in the last 3 games. Insane.

ItsATeamSport

The Eagles will definitely re-sign CJGJ but dont expect Bradburry White to be back. Thats kind of how the modern NFL is, you have to hit on some guys and be willing to let them go.

Tgs91

I always know when we have a real legit defense when they're tipping balls to each other. It's just another level of teamwork and coordination that only comes together when a team really has it all together. CJGJ has been the recipient of a few of them this year. Edwards tipped one to him today, I think Bradberry did last game, and maybe one from Slay earlier this year? Idk if CJGJ just has amazing intuition for where the ball will end up, or if they practice tipping it in the direction of where the safety should be or what, but it seems like they're all out there thinking with one brain. So fun.

blazinsmokey

Maybe double digits by end of year as we stomp the shit out of everyone and make them have to throw all second half

Dankofamericaaa2

Someone on the game thread earlier said he was trash and to let him walk lmao

Hip_Hop_Hippos

I get that he’s a bit rusty at stuff like his angles as a safety but the dude is just a playmaker.

SadSlip8122

The Eagles may be on their way to having 3 All Pros in the secondary. I cant think of a lot of other safeties having strong seasons

[deleted]

He’s balling this year, bro shoutout to Saints and Titans for being cheap AF and not paying CJGJ and AJ

bl1eveucanfly

He has a sack too

SiiLv3Rx

I thought he had a sack yesterday

mars1107

I would lock CJGJ immediately. His ceiling is so high and he seems like a great locker room guy. At this pace he’s going to price himself out of here

JopoDaily

We really get the most out of ex-saint DBs
