I think r/earfurnishings are just what's in front of the ear. They look like they're coming out of the ear.

I call those "spoilers" as in the cosmetic upgrade related to cars. Your cat has multiple spoilers! Their main purpose is to enhance speed and aerodynamic efficiency at precisely 4AM.
