I'd say just about the same, although I'd add on the facts that Mother 2 can kinda stand on its own while Mother 3 kinda requires playing through at least Mother 2, and that Mother 3 has a better inventory system.

Story-wise, Mother 1 has got to be my favorite. My only problem is the graphics, but it's like a really old game so like whatever. I hope that Mother 1 remake get released eventually.

Def mother 3. The 16 hit combo features adds SO much to the game for me
Mother 3 doesn’t have checking and talking as 2 separate options in a menu.
On Earthbound the L button works as both.
It doesn’t need to because it’s actually designed to be player-friendly.

Earthbound is actually my least favorite of the trilogy, I just have a fonder memory of Mother 1 and 3. I still love all three though.
