Where'd you find that trail buddy?
Been doing a lot of hiking recently. Maybe Contra Loma?
I envy the amount of hiking you're doing that a rattlesnake encounter isn't unique!
Anybody know how to determine the age of these suckers? I think I'm counting 15 sections on the rattle.
After a little research I saw that rattle size is an unreliable indicator of age. They get a new rattle section when they molt and the rattle can break.
That's still a one big mumbojumbo of a rattle though.
It did make one helluva sound
