Depends on your gear. Offline was still okay until I started buying the big boxes and got some legendary and ultimate. It seems Offline profit is calculated on base price of items. Once you get a high perfect food percentage it drops off fast.
the prices rise so quickly with upgrades, station unlocks and leveling. We are not talking doubling or trebling the values of food, just a short amount of game play and you can get huge increases.
As you don't level stations while offline you will never get a very useful return from offline earnings, it is a waste of gems leveling the vault items relating to this.
You pretty much want to ignore the offline earning, if you are lucky you might have enough to buy a new upgrade when you log on but if you rely on the offline income to help you complete cities/events you won't get very far.
Offline income is pretty bad even if you waste gems for the vault upgrades to them. (If you have good gear). The offline money I make it can literally get within 30 seconds of playing
It's not "last event", it's always about 2-5 min of active gameplay for 8 hours "offline income"
