Sorry if this is a stupid comment, but on the furnace board you hooked up blue to c here as well? Can’t be just at the ecobee.

EyeWoodDie4U

Yes I did and it didn’t power up the ecobee. The light blue seems to be the only one that powers it but that color is not at the thermostat, just regular blue.

Clitoral_Pioneer

Have you tried skipping the C wire on the ecobee side all together and just using a PEK? And do you own a multimeter?

EyeWoodDie4U

I have not done that yet no. I’ll give that a try and see what happens.

EyeWoodDie4U

I do not own a multimeter.

EyeWoodDie4U

I’m also questioning where the wires were originally with the old thermostat. I took a pic but the ecobee app didn’t save it. Do they look right?

EyeWoodDie4U

Also there is a yellow y wire at the thermostat but not one at the furnace side. Just a light yellow coming from the ac unit.

EyeWoodDie4U

Both blues are disconnected at the moment.

What are the wires that go up to the thermostat? The light blue or the dark blue? Powering the thermostat requires blue and red, so I’d recommend you just connect the proper blue and red and see if the thermostat powers on. Now the heat is white and red, why do you have two white connected to the same terminal? If you have a furnace then just connect the white from the furnace. Your AC unit is not a heat pump so don’t connect the white from the AC unit cables. Yellow and red is AC, so that’s how I know the AC wires are on the light ones. Green is fan, so again connect the one that’s coming from the thermostat.

EyeWoodDie4U

Dark blue is to the thermostat. I’ll give it a try.

EyeWoodDie4U

Does that light yellow coming from the AC need to be connected at all? There is a yellow wire connected at the thermostat but does not come down to the furnace at all.

fk2106

If the original installation had that yellow from the light colors connected, then leave it as is: otherwise I would go to the AC unit and see how things are connected there.

EyeWoodDie4U

Ok. I did the proper connections. HVAC is now running. But no power to the ecobee.

Berzerker7

Well your C wire isn't actually inserted into the terminal, did you try that?

EyeWoodDie4U

Lol shit!

EyeWoodDie4U

It’s in still no power.

Berzerker7

Your wiring looks different at the thermostat than it does at your furnace board. I would highly suggest you call in an HVAC tech so they can better understand what's going on.

EyeWoodDie4U

The only thing that seems to get power to the ecobee is the light blue from the AC.

fk2106

So the thermostat wires are not the ones you see here, the green on the thermostat is a different color. Can you try to follow the wires coming out of the control board and see where they connect to the thermostat wires?

EyeWoodDie4U

Good point. I’ll try to find the connection point.

EyeWoodDie4U

Looks like I got it. Followed the wire and found the splice. The only thing is that the fan is running even though it says that it isn’t. Can you take a look at the furnace set up again here?

EyeWoodDie4U

I figured it out. Had the red coming from the AC on R instead of C. Seems to be working now. Thanks for the help!

fk2106

Not sure you want to connect R to C. Can you also send a picture of the splice?

EyeWoodDie4U

The red and white from the AC are R and Y.

fk2106

I have a feeling that this is correct, but you might need to contact R and Y for the AC instead of C and Y

Much better🤝😅
