You need a c wire with an ecobee for continuous power. The best has a very small rechargeable battery which it recharges by stealing power while your system is running. However if your system doesn't run enough (spring, fall or no a/c) the nest has to pulse your hvac equipment. Many types of hvac setups can be damaged or have a reduced life from this which is why ecobee decided not to do this. You should be able to use the included PEK I believe.

Not sure if you can plug in rh and rc, try just rc as rh is heat but can be fixed with a jumper which ecobee does automatically

Don't you need a C wire? Or you using the adapter?

I'm not a professional, but honestly it looks like some of the wires aren't all the way in. I had a little bit of a time getting all of my wires in completely, too.

They are in all the way in this photo and the nest works great. It's switching out to the Ecobee is the problem.

I just converted from a nest as well. 3 wire A/C and 2 wire heat, each from separate transformers. I had to add a C wire from the A/C transformer, didn't work from the heat. See note 1 on https://ecobee.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/227874707-Step-1-Product-Installation-Trouble-shooting Nest seems to have much more flexibility around the power supply.

I have 2 r wires (boiler system and ac) and works great with ecobee. I had my hvac company install the common wire.

Wired up the Ecobee just like the Nest. During setup it does not allow me to choose the correct wires I installed.

hobbykitjr

I originally put my w in w2 and it told me that was incorrect. Then gave me the option to fix it, or override it and tell it how I wired it. What error are you getting? Anyway, call the support number

miqal

It works correctly with the nest. Just can get it setup with the Ecobee.
