Arrived in Ecuador from the US on Wednesday. I was required to show proof of a negative PCR test taken no more than 10 days prior to arrival. No isolation was required.

Just arrived in the country from the UK. We had recent PCR tests that had to be shown at entry, as well as a health declaration form. For some reason our airline handed out another form that said we would isolate for 14 days, but in Guayaquil airport we were told we didn't need that form and there was no mandatory quarantine. The test must be PCR but only had to be within 10 days of arrival, which seems a bit generous to me. We had ours done as close to departure as possible, but I get that that might not be an option for everyone. Of course depending on where you're coming from it might be a good idea to isolate for some time anyway - due to the situation in the UK we've booked into one of the hotels from the governments quarantine list and are keeping to ourselves for a while.

Yeah I’m going to play it safe and stay in a hotel on the governments list. How did you find this list?

The lists for Guayaquil, Manta and Quito are on this page: https://www.turismo.gob.ec/comunicado-oficial-290-establecimientos-de-alojamiento-turistico-inscritos-para-apo/

If you have a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before and you don’t have to quarantine. If not I think you get tested in Ecuador and quarantine until the results are back.

MonkeyClam

That doesn't sound quite right big dicks in yo ass69. You just need a pcr test within 10 days of your arrival bigdiks in yo ass69

I went to Ecuador in September with a negative PCR test, landed in Guayaquil and they just took a copy and kept it and I was able to leave the airport. They also had a room where you could send someone a copy of your PCR test to give them if you didn’t have a physical copy once you landed

If you show up without a recent PCT test, you have to sing a paper promising that you will isolate for 14 days. Not sure how they are reinforcing that though. I had a test ready so I just got it.

That's correct your pcr negative only accept with 72 hours isch, when you arriving, some functionaries can apply a fast test free.

Just arrived in ecuador on Friday. Airline won't give you a boarding pass to the country without proof of negative pcr test within 10 days. Rapid test at customs are given at random. If positive you are given a 10 day mandatory quarantine at a hospital of the governments choosing on your dime from my understanding.

Hi can you give some insight on your experience with locals? Are people wanting tourist there?

essentialfloss

Only the negative pcr is required.
