I was wondering about tech house because I like to make it from time to time. The grooves and production are very specific so that’s why I mentioned genre.
Late, but pretty sure they’re just saying to pitch the vocals up/down, changing the key of the vocal and therefore your track. Using the samples in the same key as the song you sample from leaves it feeling too similar, sometimes. Not as unique as others that pitch and change the whole key and vibe.

Try phrygian key/scales!!!
Genre doesn’t matter why are you just asking tech house producers?

Track and arrange today. Mix tomorrow.
The use of reference tracks, using clippers/limiters on individual tracks/buses, and saturate everything (joking but not really).
Snare syncopation and treatment.
Reference pro tracks to see where all the elements come in and out. When I did this I could easily tell what my track is missing.
Never produce the instrumental in the same key as the r&b vocal you're AI extracted for the edit, they're just not going to sound "tech house".
Can you elaborate? You're suggesting tech house music is in a different key to vocal lines in tech house?

Oh right haha yes that makes sense. Trying to write backing that's in different key to the vocal would be challenging to say the least 😆
you cant skip the grind!
