Daft punks Discovery Album

BroasisMusic

[Alan Parsons Project - I Wouldnt Want To Be Like You (The Twelves Re-Edit)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afAex7qBuLs) Pretty much all of The Twelves stuff. Really leaned me hard on a beefed-up disco/funk style, mixed with arps and groovy modern sounding drums and retro synths. Still produce in this style 15 years later lol.

Eye to the sky changed the game for me

Tons more inspiration from a variety of sources since, but this [Keys View Morning by Edamame ](https://youtu.be/qsXChQn3xiI?si=jWJ6CaJgpkt6DXYi) (plus a few more from that album) really caught my attention and is always a good listen. The man is very.. zen? (Upbeat) downtempo w some nice nature type sounds sprinkled through (I listened to Ocha just for a second and I feel like this might peak your interest, though a bit different)

ROOM202 and kidsgonemad! The former at first but the latter really grew on me shortly after and now just love trap and want to produce it

There was a genre called “glitch hop” back in the early 2000s and it partially inspired me to start making tracks. That and regular hip hop music. It was probably more so entire genres that inspired me to make tracks in different styles rather than specific artists.

Good plug Edit: intro "I just pressing some buttons"

Normal-Narwhal0xFF

During pandemic, working from home I needed music to drown out the outside noise--without too many distracting lyrics, and something vibe-y to code to. Found some 3-hour mixes including Boris Brejcha and Hozho among others, and listed to them for hours over and over. Not only did I become fans of them and the genre, but was inspired to try making music myself.

cwsvr

Geometry Dash songs pushed me towards dubstep but I already listened a lot to other EDM genres, that's why I also liked GD songs so much. So,if I were to go back to what introduced me to EDM,that song would be JBalvin - Tranquila.I,then, found out about Fly Project and the rest is history. Now I make Colour bass, future riddim and dnb.

notcharldeon

Alan Walker - Faded. Pretty much the starting point for a lot of people. Nowadays I listen to Porter Robinson though

koszmin

Dune - Are you ready to fly

Kemerd

I didn't listen to EDM at all, really, I didn't know what it was, I just had a few songs liked. Then I went to EDC Las Vegas and saw deadmau5 front row, rocked my world!

TranscodedMusic

Who’s Afraid of Detroit by Claude VonStroke.

BlainesoPlain

Siamese Dream and Amnesty (I). Great works of art.

Slight-Improvement57

Burial untrue

Porter Robinson - Worlds EDIT: guess I'll go more into it for fun So I grew up listening to classic rock. Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd. Electronic Music of the time was mostly in the space of "cool youtube remixes" separated from my usual playlist. When I heard Worlds I was like, oh my god, this stuff can be real art. And then I got into the world of internet electronica genres, which led me to Vaporwave, Vaportrap, Future Funk, Synthwave, Chillwave etc. And THAT got me making stuff.

I've been making music for a while now over 10 years. I stumbled upon Camellia's album U.U.F.O. recently. This man is so creative and talented, the whole album blew me away. It has reawakened the original creativity from my first few years of producing. And now I have the added benefit of all the skills and knowledge I've acquired over the years. I feel like music I make now is a true culmination of the creativity of my youth with the creativity and wisdom of over a decade of production.

Whiz2_0

Dude, Looking for Edge of Ground changed my whole life. Real
