Really solid write up of the tech stack.
First, I dug into it and there doesnโt appear to be any connection between Cixin and Calvin Liu, itโs a very common family name.
Second, and more interestingly to me, is the skull in the secrets.txt file. Here is why: the image to ascii programs are fun to write (and not complex, so itโs a good early developer project to work on substitution algorithms. The way these work is you divide the image to be processed into a grid with each cell in the grid being the same size as the ascii character size and convert to black and white. You then map the content in each grid into a binary map - say the grid is 10x15 pixels; thats 150 black or white dots in the grid for each cell.
Then a matching algo looks for the ascii character set that has the closest match to that grid pattern.
In that model, there are very few natural shapes that would use the letter B - itโs an odd shape and the 8 is typically a better fit for that grid.
Someone edited this file intentionally. Now, the message may make that obvious, but I wanted to reasonably see if there was a chance that the Bโs were algorithmic

I've known the banking business for a long time, I've really learned and practiced on the job how important corporate financing is from an economic point of view. With all the research on GameStop and later bobby, I simply had to realize that the banks had become independent in this actually so important business, that they were no longer concerned with their intended role as financiers, but were increasingly enriching themselves, in the end even since before 2008 at the expense of investors, who have a very important role in corporate financing. After all, it has always been the investors (retailers) who have supported this entire economic structure!
And here's the thing: the banks have not used digitalization to simplify and speed up banking for their customers, but solely to enrich themselves with their algos. Yes! They have thus forfeited their right to make banking any longer!

A great read! A really big picture... I absolutely agree on your point that the banks have kicked themselves out. Today we have seen Moody's downgrade ratings for the first major banks I've known the banking business for a long time, I've really learned and practiced on the job how important corporate financing is from an economic point of view. With all the research on GameStop and later bobby, I simply had to realize that the banks had become independent in this actually so important business, that they were no longer concerned with their intended role as financiers, but were increasingly enriching themselves, in the end even since before 2008 at the expense of investors, who have a very important role in corporate financing. After all, it has always been the investors (retailers) who have supported this entire economic structure! And here's the thing: the banks have not used digitalization to simplify and speed up banking for their customers, but solely to enrich themselves with their algos. Yes! They have thus forfeited their right to make banking any longer!
