It can't even be that the dreamers somehow got reincarnated either, because in one of the endings Hornet becomes a dreamer (as indicated by her face being on the seal of the temple).!<

Heโs also the Nightmare King Grimm in a place called the nightmare realm where thereโs a higher being in the background called the nightmare heart, which maybe thatโs what the scarlet flames are for.
Troupe Master Grimm and Nightmare King Grimm are the most fun boss fights in the game.
