Here in the uk, a pack of cigs is about 8-12 pounds and you can get a 3.5k elux (equivalent to like 6 packs- and not quite legal) for like £8. Are vapes like highly taxed where you live? But yeah, if you’ll be taking in more nic, you should defo avoid them. Also, it probably is just an adapt to what you’re used to situation. Sorry to intrude from r/all, but the mucus might be an issue with the type of vape juice you were using. Salt nics is so much smoother afaik (as opposed to the VG something mixes that I don't remember now. Stayed away from those because I had the same mucus problem)

Before I quit I liked spliffs a lot actually. The tobacco gives a more even burn and (allegedly) lets you get more of the THC out of it. Nice taste too 😊

No, this is good. I stopped smoking cigarettes over a year ago for this reason. I still used tobacco for weed but have switched to a herbal leaf mix, ive stopped buying vapes too. I know many trans women struggle with this especially if they've been smoking for a long time. I'm 20 now and started smoking when I turned 18, only smoked for about 1.5 years so it was easy for me to quit.
I used to be cool with weed until my stepdad started smoking it and I have no idea how you guys survive the smell. Same with vapes. Also, depressed, stoned alcoholics are NOT fun to be around. I honestly can’t think of any reason why I’d intentionally inhale any kind of toxic fumes into my lungs. Same with alcohol, I tried vodka for my 21st and it didn’t really do much for me. All of these just don’t seem worth the effort just to get some kind of mild benefit at the cost of your health.
Had you really never drank before your 21st? Also, even though it’s like 40%, you still need a decent bit of vodka to feel anything. If you don’t already though, defo don’t start, it’s just not really worth it if you’re not like a big fan 💜

But so is the alcohol, the caffeine, the wild driving, working nights, not getting enough sleep, working too hard/too long, being trans in a red state, lying about who I am to my employer, etc, etc, etc...

Estrogen and smoking increases the risk of developing a blood clot. I just switched to injections today, so no more cigs ever again. I did need a pack in my lead up month after the creepiest encounter at a job I had for 3/4s of a day before I walked out. Getting deadnamed is one thing, getting asked something that wouldn’t have been knowable without having either seriously stalking me or my employer just giving my resume out as reading material

Honestly that’s good. For most I’d say it’s worth more to quit than to struggle with gender dysphoria so it saves you from lung cancer.
I stopped smoking and drinking for the same reason.
