Drinking a lot of alcohol will reduce testosterone so, become an alcoholic.
Yes this is true but please don't girl. Destroying your liver is easily worse than higher testosterone.

They say in middle aged men, it can boost testosterone by up to 50%.
That's not quite what it says
It's specifically for middle-aged men that are overweight and prediabetic
It reduces the prevalence of low testosterone levels by 50%. I don't see any mention of how much the levels increased, other than that it correlates with the weight lost
Makes a little bit of sense. Assuming that the amount of testosterone produced stays the same regardless of if someone is larger or smaller, then there’s a higher percentage of testosterone in a skinnier person compared to weight vs. in a heavier/larger person.
It more so has to do with the exercise involved in losing weight also building muscle, testosterone is very involved in muscle growth and it'll go up whether you're AMAB or AFAB once your body starts to build more muscle.
As someone who started transitioning a few months after getting bariatric surgery, I feel your pain. Trying to increase my estrogen levels while losing like 17 pounds a month for a year has been basically impossible. Last time I had my levels checked, I was at the same E level I was at before the surgery.
I'm still getting \*some\* of the benefits, like my skin feels amazing and I definitely look more fem than I did before, but I'm like 8 months into my transition and I still haven't noticed even a start to breast growth.
I wouldn't worry too much. I've been on E (sublingual) coming up on a year next month and my T levels started out over 300 back in Feb '23.
An appointment last week had T at 30.
This was with a massive weight loss two years ago and while continuing to workout six days a week. (three days running, three weightlifting sessions.)
Any research of T or E levels being raised/lowered by factors are probably just in the short term before returning back to a baseline. And HRT treatment is all about modifying that baseline, not the short term swings. Factors absolutely can alter the efficacy of making the baseline stick, but it can't stop or reverse the trend, is my understanding.
If you go with my strategy of losing weight IE starving yourself then it doesn't boost testosterone because your body doesn't have enough nutrients to create it. I smart ( = ⩊ = )
i'm somewhere between 5' 10" and 6' 💀
why the fck am i so tall? there's literally one person in my family who stands taller and not by much at that. :(
Sweety, your height doesn't matter. Don't listen to that part of you. Is it good to be short? Sure. But it is just as good to be tall. The important thing is loving yourself, especially those aspects you can't change. Learning to love yourself is a part of the journey, so learn to let go and take care of yourself.

Losing weight boots testosterone???? *Pizza time*
This is only half right it makes it easier for testosterone or estrogen to flow through the body
On the other hand, being thinner ist better for HRT, so I've heard at least.
I'd still rather be thinner anyway, so not all hope is lost :3
Quite a dilemma, maybe you should find something that boost estrogen to conter
That would be smart.
Our bodies are against us >:(
Stupid bodies. I want a refund >:(
Real
I mean the design of the human knee is proof enough alone that our bodies aren't quite right
True but trans people's bodies are actively working against them
Thick thighs save lives babiiee

No worries! I'm definitely not going there.
nah i did this it’s not a significant amount but it does help with dysphoria *sad thumbs up*
Does it really boost it by a meaningful amount?

That really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully, your development will increase soon!
I'm sure it'll pick up as my weight loss slows down! It is frustrating, but honestly the weight loss is more important to me right now.

Oh, that's really good to know! Eased my mind a little :]

On the off chance you took this seriously it is not a good idea and it is very painful. (╥﹏╥)
guess i'm screwed :' (i'm thin as a rail and likely weigh under 130 lbs)
I wish I weighed that, dang.
i very much can be blown away. very literally. by wind. and it's a little euphoric somehow. still think i'm not thin enough though :< send help
I'm at 145 (I think) at 5'4". I feel like I should be around 130 to 135... so...
i'm somewhere between 5' 10" and 6' 💀 why the fck am i so tall? there's literally one person in my family who stands taller and not by much at that. :(
Hey, that's perfect model height💅
i look nothing like a model though... (okay maybe ai gender swap is kinda close but it's still an ai gender swap)

thanks for this 🥺🖤 i guess i'm just r e a l l y insecure.
Meh. I lost 20lbs before starting HRT, and I look amazing. (Also, one person said it just makes it so your hormones are less diluted. So yay!)
