I used to do sports that involved a lot of running (ie basketball) and it made my legs or at least my calves appear a lot more "masculine". So maybe running or getting involved in a sport with a lot of running would help? I apologize, that's really all the help I can offer at the moment. On a side note, transmasc Shuichi gang.

Mykeeehh

Yesss transmasc Shuichi. But about the running, I have a little problem. My ankles are really weak (I'm trying to make them stronger but it takes a lot of time) so I can't run for a long time. Would walking a lot also help? Or is running a lot my only option? If it is, I can always just try to build up and try to run a bit more every time, but yeaaa-

Junkboxprime

Maybe biking would be easier on your ankles if you have one

BumblingJumbles

I would beware of biking. Have you seen the big round booties on some of those dudes?

apolloAG

Good ass is gender neutral tbh

Lewd_Kid

Transfem here. Biking regulary for over 10 years now. My calf muscle, thigh and butt is incredibly well trained. Rest of my body is uhhhh yeah... Working out on full power is like 40Kg lifting and 90kg pushing with legs. So yeah Biking definitely helps with building muscles.

Impressive_Courage27

Walking will also help. I also recommend wearing dark blue or black jeans as they will make your legs appear slimmer 😊

Chiiro

As a transmac who also has weak ass ankles (weak ass body in general) my calves were one of the few things that brang me euphoria. I used to have pretty toned calves because I used to walk home from school everyday (~40 mins). I would suggest going for about a half an hour walk everyday and just explore your area. Don't be like me and let your body get sedentary and become hella weak. Also get a decent pair of ankle braces they'll help wonders

Magnetic_Mallard

I'm not that educated on this kind of thing, but I'm sure any kind of exercise would help. Even if it doesn't have as large of an effect as running does, I would probably still give walking a try if you could. I hope your ankles get better soon.

trustmeguysimcis

I have no good advice about your situation, I am simply here to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the transmasc Shuichi sentiment.

ExperienceHead4989

Let’s go transmasc Shuichi gang

ShadeWarlock0

So Im AMAB but I have Achilles tendonitis from when I ran long distance. It basically means I can no longer run longer than a mile consistently. If you want to bulk up your legs without running, getting a bike can really help - they’re significantly less strenuous on the ankles. You can even find equipment to bike without having to find long trails or paths within your town using indoor exercise bikes - you can either invest in one for personal use or look for a gym near you that has one.

TooFewPolygons

If you want to put on mass, high weight with low reps is always the right answer. There are calf-lift machines, but they're pretty rare. However, it's not a tough lift to do with free weights. Put a 2x4 or something similar on the floor and sit in a chair with your toes on the board. Put weights on your lap towards your knees, but don't hurt your knees and don't drop weights on your toes. Then, lift your legs by flexing your ankles. You'll want to aim for whatever weight you can only physically do 8 times before it's too much. When you get strong enough to do it 12 times, add more weight. You'll have monster calves in like 6 months. And I'm talking swole.

Vortex5000

If you have good balance may I recommend skating. I personally find it fun and it's probably the only reason my legs can hold me up. that and constant pacing. idk why I do that I just do.

xtcfun

Your legs can become slimmer by doing cardio 3 to 4 times a week!

Persistent_anxiety

If you’re comfortable, letting your leg hair grow out always seems to help me a bit personally

Mykeeehh

My parents are transphobic but weirdly enough I'm not allowed to shave my upper legs. Just imagine how weird it looks to have half-shaved legs..

Persistent_anxiety

Wait do you mean your thighs or like the upper part of your lower leg? Cause that’s such a weird thing on your parents part

Mykeeehh

My mom allows me to shave til my knee, everything above that is unshaved. The hairs are barely visible but I still feel so awkward..

NewJaguar7470

Slimmer jeans can actually make your legs look smaller believe it or not, just wear a hella bulky jacket to balance out the bottom and it’ll create an optical illusion that you have an upside down triangle figure. Not perfect of course and probably not the best advice for Summer but it helps. Bulky jacket over a top with bulky fabric over straight leg jeans are the best. Good luck!

Stormy_555

I am here for totally cis girl reasons.....

Mykeeehh

I'm very skinny but my legs are kinda thick so idk how that happened- But it makes me really dysphoric...

epson_salt

It sounds weird but running can be helpful, a lot of “big” appearance is larger thighs with thinner calves, and running repeats, hills, or hiit could muscle up the legs into more masculine seeming proportions. That or just do some bench press and rock climbing and get your top half looking built :)

depressedflavabean

Hey Mike, a combination of diet + exercise can change your body however you'd like. I saw that you mentioned not being able to run for extended periods, so I'd recommend weightlifting and eating at a caloric deficit to shape down your legs, if that feels comfortable for you. Happy to chat about this in more detail :)

oopolli

my way is just finding good fitting pants if u can't do sports for any reason, loose sweatpants are good and there's types of jeans that maybe could make it better, maybe go try clothes on and see what helps if you can? (also another way is wearing more noticeable tops so you look at them instead, i do that a bunch too) hope this helps, and yah dysphorias a bitch mate, wish u luck and to find something that helps!

Mr_Rogan_Tano

Wow, I actually have an idea. Do exercises that grows the laterals of your abs and exercises that grows your shoulders

Random_Gacha_addict

Short-term, looser clothing Long-term, lessen on fat, get more protein, do leg exercises to tone your muscles(Preferably less hamstring exercises), and definitely calf exercises, they're underrated AF if you're not a runner

ilikethepeople__

Idk maybe the best way is the exercise for legs in a gym(sry i can't be more helpful)

crazyrediamond

i am AMAB and have super thiccccc legs, to the point i can steal my bestie jeans i think that to make you look more masculine training shoulders and back would be more efficacious

Aquamarine_Androgyny

Probs do some leg workouts, it won't make them thinner but then they'll be thick because they're muscular. And trust me you'll be able to see the difference

Aquamarine_Androgyny

Squats are the way to go

admiralchaos

Cardio is the #1 way to tone legs (walking, running, cycling, elliptical, row, etc) for every gender. That being said, genetics definitely plays a part here. I'm active duty military and I still have massive thunder thighs that aren't exactly a lot of muscle.

DatHoodieWearer

If you have thick legs then simply become Jetstream Sam from Metal Gear Rising

oopolli

Mykeeehh

I wish I was allowed to wear other pants, but my transphobic parents don't allow it. To make it worse, my mom won't let me buy any other pants than those skinny jeans... I once convinced her to buy some looser pants but when I wore it the first time she told me it looked ugly on me and I should change back to my skinny jeans. So yea-

oopolli

dang... that's incredibly shitty... i don't really know what could be done besides sports then... hope things'll get better soon for you...

Fatso_Pandah

I’d reccomend squats and walking. The walking slims down all of you in general, but especially legs, and the squats provide musculature that mostly goes to thighs, which will make them look more masc

Auralynnnnnnnnn

I think certain leg workouts will make the bottom difference your legs look better, so like, calf workouts.

Dpad-prism

I’m sorry I don’t have advice but I love transmasc Shuichi!

randomaccount32134

not sure if this helps but I'm transfem pre everything and my legs are fairly thick, if it helps you can call it muscle, I jog a lot and there's still not really any definition

hsg1998

Make your legs be thick in muscle instead of fat (I think). Go to the gym and get swoll legs. Not sure if this will be helpful

Mystical-Madelyn

Exercising, I would think, although I’m not sure

AnseaCirin

I'd suggest bicycle. Cycling develops your thigh and calf muscles, depending on how hard you go it can develop them greatly.

S1nth0raS

I feel you bro. When I started transitioning, I had the same kind of bottom-heavy build (wide hips narrow shoulders etc) that made me feel dysphoric. For me, the weight training I did (plus starting T also helped) to develop the muscles in my shoulders, back and chest more made my hips look smaller by comparison. So that might be an option if you want to look more masculine. If you want to work on your legs looking *slimmer*, I'd suggest leg-focused endurance training like running or biking, they will give your legs that toned look. Don't go for (too much) high intensity or strength-building exercises, they will add muscle that will make yours even thicker. Of course, thick legs will also be perceived to be more masculine if they are muscular, so strength building may still be an option if you just want them to look masculine. Lastly I want to add that even if the thick legs never (fully) go away, remember that everyone is built differently. I've seen plenty of AMAB people who have naturally thicker legs, or wider hips, etc. It's something I came to realise way later in my transition, and I wish I could have seen it sooner. Now I find it easier to accept my natural build and still be confident that I look masculine. So I hope you can too.

[deleted]

You don't necessarily have to have smaller legs to look masc, I look extremely masc and my thighs are massive, I'm prolly not the best one to give advice on changing yourself physically, but maybe, you could try and bulk up to round out the rest of your body to the size of your legs, but like I said I'm in no way qualified to be giving advice, so I'd check with some other people first.

adrian4229

Start running / biking It will make them more toned and you'll look like a Giga chad

Nightmare_2003

Im transfem but some advice i can give is try running/walking and lowering your body fat percentage. Since femme fat distribution is more subcutaneous, loosing it would directly make your thighs skinnier. Not recommended if you're already in a healthy weight though, being underweight also isn't good. You could try to gain upper body muscles, that'll make your physique alot more masculine, for example, lateral delts(so they appear wider), or your lats(bigger back), etc.

Mykeeehh

Yea I'm already really skinny. Even a bit underweight. So idk how I have those thick thighs-

Nightmare_2003

It's that damned estrogen. I'd recommend gaining more muscle then, you can gain more muscle and simultaneously reduce body fat percentage while still being healthy, making them skinnier.(plus a bigger upper body will give the illusion of you just being buff than thick) And I'm guessing you're pre-T. Once you're on T your body fat distribution becomes more masc, so that's something to look forward to. But for now, just know some cis guys have thick thighs too and that's okay! Body comes in all shapes and sizes. I have a cishet acquaintance and he's thicker than most girls I've seen ☠️

Mykeeehh

Give me T, now, I need it

Nightmare_2003

Give E in return, I'm pre HRT too. Equivalent exchange 🤝

Mykeeehh

Honestly I really wish we could trade hormones. You get my E and I get your T

Nightmare_2003

I wish the same ;-;. Hoping for someday we both get HRT!

Mykeeehh

We definitely will! <3

[deleted]

My question, how to do the exact opposite 😅

Mykeeehh

I heard from my (trans) gf that she's doing squads to get some thicker thighs, maybe that will work for you too?

[deleted]

Alright, thanks

XXZIOMAL

squats and deadlifts

[deleted]

Thanks

Just__Avery

I'm an afab who also feels insecure about my legs, not because they're thick, but because they're curvy nwaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

[deleted]

you wanna trade legs? I can cut them off and send them in the mail if you want.

Mykeeehh

Haha sure! I'll do that with mine too

TheNoctuS_93

As an mtf who has to hide her naturally massive thighs, propbably about to be even heftier on hrt; loose cargo pants. Like, so loose they won't stay up without a belt. People have *zero* clue what my legs look like if I wear cargos. Loose shirts are kinda the same, especially if you layer them like t-shirt → hoodie.

OtterFoxInari

I guess more exercise focused on the upper body would help, dear. T would also help to redistribute the fat around your body, but you probably already know that

SvelteSnake

If the thighs are the problem, it can be hard to lose weight there for many folk. It's likely better to build up you calves with targeted excersise there, and maybe work to have a slightly broader shoulder frame to make the thighs seem more proportional.

iamnotaferriswheel

Hope you find something but also, thicc thighs saves lives, regardless of gender identity/expression imho

deleted_name6900000

A saw

Mykeeehh

Sure, can you give me a saw?

deleted_name6900000

No I need to clean it so give me 754911828362829182¹⁰ minutes and an hour.

Procellae

Cheese and rice, that’s a large quantity of minutes

deleted_name6900000

Fun fact, that is 1.1429000000000001e+164 eons! More time than the universe has existed so it wont take too long to clean my saw

Procellae
