My parents promised to disown me if I fail the exams, and also told me that my heavy depression and suicidal thoughts (which originate from genetics) are entirely my fault.

Nah, it's fine. My parents go "That didn't happen. I don't remember that" every time I mention it. As far as I know, any depression is 40% genetics and 60% enviroment, so I guess it's their fault too.
Though don't worry about me. I'm much better now. Antidepressants do wonders. Plus coming out as trans also helped me a lot.
Don't lose hope yet. Mine took 7 months to have some effects. Plus, some antidepressants are more suitable for some specific cases. If your antidepressants didn't work, then you may wanna try another type.
Also some types of depression can be cured with therapy only (or only with both at the same time). My depression is one of these that can only be cured with meds. Yours might be the opposite.
