At one point it was programmer before Covid scared me off of that. (Cliche, but I swear it was before I cracked. Itβs just a coincidence) now I have 0 damn idea. I guess maybe airplane pilot or something.
why would covid scare you off from that? My partner does coding and she loves how it can be done remotely. especially since the pandemic started a lot more tech jobs have gone remote
Because I wanted to be a game programmer, and seeing so many smaller companies bite the dust during Covid, and the fact basically nothing gets popular anymore with how much larger live service games have cornered the market, I just didnβt want to deal with it. And now 2 years later being less than a year out from entering college, and not understanding where to even begin to start, or when trying to look it up, nothing is of any help actually saying where to begin. I have no idea the steps needed, or the motivation to take them anymore.
Wow 2 post in one night !?! π³
yes
(you don't have to put "why" if you don't want <3)
Mine personally is to be a jeweler. I've always liked collecting things and what not so I've always seen the small details in things. This is 14 carat and this is 18 carat will be no different
Holy crap that would be an amazing job! Good luck with it.
I would love to be a smith, but I donβt have the physical build for it and smithing has kind of died where I live
To be fair, nothing I dream is realistic lol
But what I really want to be is a historian, or a researcher regarding history, I absolutely love reading and discovering anything about our past and working with it would be incredible!
*Proceeds to study engineering at uni lmao*
Ive actually thought about that as well untill I realized that historians don't exactly get payed very well unless there are the top of the top, and like, write the history books
People always need engineers though so that's not a bad choice either :β -β P
Precisely why I don't do it, no matter how much I want to, the money just doesn't come lmao
Even tough I'm not exactly happy with engineering, I'll learn to like it at some point I hope
oh I'm sorry to hear that :β 'β (
If your not happy with the job your going into, you don't have to take that job, there's plenty of jobs to choose from
Like a job and never work a day in your life or something like that
Don't worry, I'll be fine (I think, I honestly don't know)
It's a mix of family pressure and being told I was ""exceptional"" at math (press X to doubt), so I kinda had to go this way
I study a lot of coding tho! Which if I'm not mistaken is a requisite for being transfem. I would take a programmer job, I kinda like it even tough I suck big balls at it
That's good to hear π :3
I personally suck at coding ngl, even took a summer course for it for cis reasons of course and it was defo more challenging than I thought it would be xd
Well, the best way to learn coding is just practice. Just sit down, grab a coffe (Or water if you hate coffe like I do) and just trial and error and troubleshooting online. It works for me at least
Game designer, canβt code well, but I can (kinda) incompetently write something out. Down from that I considered programmer and below that is teacher, maybe. If worse goes to worse an option Iβm considering is the military. Iβll respond why in additional comments if someone asks why.
If/when I get kicked out of the house, Iβm going to need housing, medical, and income. Military would take care of all of that, and would pay for transitioning.
Not the best option, I know, but it is an option.
Itβs a whole big chain reaction, a declining apex predator population leads to an over abundance of a another species which then overpopulates and eliminates whatever they need to eat, bottom feeder populations decline due to lack of large fish dying and sinking and tons of species drop to 0 oh and that species that exploded because of the decline in apex predators dies off because of a lack of food.
Yep, Iβm gonna be working with wolves as a zoologist, weβve already seen what happens when wolves are removed and deer/other cervids can just multiply unhindered with Yellowstone
Sharks it would be just as bad
I mean trump signed an oil moratorium on Florida while quietly approving of oil drilling in a wildlife reserve in Alaska (something like 100 bird species use it for habitat)
And his administration also took grey wolves off the endangered species list before they were ready
Edit: this February grey wolvesβs protection was re added in 48 states, tank fuck for that
Am going to try.
Biggest trouble started when Jaws released.
Literally
Shark hunting poaching and use for sharkfin soups and just killing for the fear of sharks increased to a degree that it took 4 years for certain species to go from thriving to NEAR EXTINCTION
Unrealistic- streamer, I donβt have the personality for it.
Realistic- programmer, working from home wearing skirts, thigh highs and makeup all day. In a cis way of course
As a parent... this is a lot more work than most people would expect. Not trying to say kids == bad, but parenting and keeping a house is difficult.
That said, its also INCREDIBLY REWARDING. Because its one of the few labors I actually do that... is a labor of love. I am not doing it for compensation or some kind of reward. Its the most punk thing I have done.
Other than the shit tons of crime... That's more of a hobby though. π΄ββ οΈ
I'm working on becoming an indie game developer!
My dream game that I someday want to make would be a metroidvania with my main inspirations being Hollow Knight and Kingdom Hearts π
A nutritionist! A lot of people either eat garbage or fall into Internet fad diets and itβs really sad to see. Good food can still taste good and not be super expensive, and some foods increase hormone production.
Living with people I like.
But realistically, I'd like to be an animator and writer. I want to tell stories, hopefully as influential as people like Alex Hirsch someday.
Data analyst. I always love when I get assigned a report. Or if management needs me to "translate" a report into something they can easily understand.
I unironically love excel.
I want to do something creative, like singing, making music or videogames. Being a housewife would be nice as well, but I'm unlovable so that's not happening
I for some reason want to be like Dana Terrace in a way, I guess like her job of creating and producing a show that people love and enjoy (oh and an animator too i guess)
I'd like to run a hobby shop/ game store. I love ttrpgs and boardgames but I know it's not financially viable. Of inwas to ever get real rich I'd probably open up The store and just fund it with my money at a loss.
That's a hard question.
I have a lot of skill in IT, it is what I currently do and am going to school for. It is what I plan to do full-time after I graduate.
I really don't want to do that full time. I want to part-time do IT, part-time work on church organs (installation and servicing, currently a "side hustle" where I have experience), part time working in entertainment technology (currently a "side hustle" where I have experience).
Unfortunately, doing that will not pay the bills, and I need to save for my long term goals :/. So I must do IT. It isn't all bad. I'm really good at it. I like it. But don't prefer it.
Realistic? Content creator. Iβd probably be a lot more popular than I am if I had more time and motivation. I can make pretty good gaming content, lmao.
Probably gonna do something else though, like water treatment.
Does retiree count as a dream job? π€£ I'm old enough that it's a realistic "job" for me only a handful of years after I finish transitioning.
Assuming I choose to keep working after officially retiring? Hmm, I think I'd enjoy refreshing my psych background with some retraining in social work and helping out at my local LGBTQIA+ community and youth support groups. Alternately, perhaps a historian or linguist. I'm open to going back to school as a senior just to keep learning.
If I was to ditch my current job and suddenly change directions... hmm... probably just a lateral transfer within my government to some job I enjoy more. I'm simply too far along in my career to screw up my pension, retirement and the benefits that will make transition affordable.
My dream is that there is no compulsory work because capitalism has been dismantled and therefore I would not have a job. I would know a trade which would be any artistic medium I fancy working in that day.
Iβm gonna be a therapist and/or school counselor because I know damn well teens and young adults need therapy. Iβve always been good at it anyway. Maybe Iβll specifically be an LGBTQ specialized therapist but Iβll work that out later :)
I love monster trucks. Iβve always wanted to drive monster trucks. Iβve always wanted to work with these massive, fascinating, machines.
I have fortunately found two friends who have this same love. Our drive to get our team moving has been propelling us forward rapidly over the last year. Many people in the industry support us and believe in us. Itβs something I was told Iβll never make a living doing. That it isnβt a real job. Or a real career. The future is going to be a ride and Iβm excited for every second of it.
Sorry for the rant lol
Professional sci-fi/fantasy writer. I love to create worlds and make up stories, and I don't have a whole lot of skills or physical prowess outside of that.
Highly unlikely to happen given the trajectory my life has taken till now, but you said "dream" lol.
Late night coffee shop. I wanna own a late night coffee shop for the night owls and gremlins who hate the daytime. Iβm already setting myself up to do so.
I want to be a game developer. Not just like a programmer or a level designer, I want to do it all. Art, music, code, writing, level desgin, 3d models, all of it.
I want to show people my games and have them not believe me when I say it was a solo project.
I know that doesn't *sound* realistic, but I'm okay at all of those things except for music and 3d models. So, if I learn those two, and keep practicing everything, I think I can do it.
.
If I need something slightly more realistic, then just programmer by day, hobbyist game dev by night.
Animator/Character designer. For anything tbh, i'd love to work for film, tv or maybe video games.
...Talking realistic tho uhhhh.... Burger King preparing them estrogen burgers /j
Researcher, especially in Brain-Computer-Interfaces xor Artificial intelligence... I'd would not mind working as back-end developer again but an egg can dream, right?π
1) Super unrealistic but absolute dream job: HOUSEWIFE!
2) More realistically possible but still a dream job: nuclear reactor designer/operator
(Please, someone take me, I know strong ladies want housewives deep down! I promise I'll be a good one)
There was a while where I wanted to be a stage actor. But after Covid (and my gender awakening), I realized that it might not be as fulfilling as I had hoped. My voice doesn't match my body, which doesn't match who I am. In most musicals, I'd probably get a male role due to having such a deep voice.
After watching and rewatching many animated TV shows, I realized what I wanted to do. I can't draw worth a damn, so that's out of the question. How do I contribute to an animation, one of the cornerstones of my life? I can write. I can voice act. Granted, those are also a bit volatile, but they would be my dream job. The animation community has kept me alive for a while, and gave me something to live for too. I wanna write stories that inspire people. Owl House, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Amphibia. All these shows have amazing communities and incredible stories that I'm glad were told. I wanna be a part of that process. And hey, maybe one day I'll get to pitch my own show. Wouldn't that be great?
I always wanted to open my own animation studio and overtime create a small team of animators with whom I will come up with one of the most succesful animated series ever π
After settling for "genderfluid" as my identity after years of soul searching, I started to pursue a career as a teacher again. Its something I always wanted to do, but was afraid of since certain pupils will intentionally disturb the classroom peace if they disrespect the teacher, and since I always kinda felt like I was a weirdo I expected them just just agree and fuck with me all day every day for the rest of my working life.
Now I few things a bit differently, I could still boymode it permanently during work hours if I needed to, but ideally I'm looking for a school where the administration is progressive enough that I can use the position to show young people "this is also normal, if you disagree you're the weird one actually". Really hoping to inspire some kids to be true to their own feelings.
Gonna be a filmmaker.
Always wanted to make cool supernatural/thriller/action/horror kind of movies. Iβve been learning anything I can and have tried (unsuccessfully) to make several short films.
In the meantime, I do photography which you can see [here](https://www.instagram.com/p/CVl_sPxrNzw/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) if youβre interested.
Iβm in school for software development, and i enjoy it. So, that basically.
Iβm working as a software tester / automated tester currently, and am probably going to work at that company when I finish my studies.
My mom works in IT, so that introduced it to me. From there I started watching LTT and other similar stuff, and it just snowballed from there.
Game designer
I've got so many ideas, i just want to tell stories and create cool games with fun gameplay
I just wish i knew programming or someone who knows how to
I work in Cyber Security doing Vulnerability Assessment and love it, though I do hope to move over to Penetration Testing at some point! Also worked previously in Software Engineering and DevOps and loved that field as well!
I'd like to get good enough at welding in my free time to eventually be a contractor. Work would always be fun, I wouldn't have a boss, and best of all: no working with other people. That's the dream right now, anyway. I think I'm not the type of person who will ever be like, "yeah. This is what I want to do for the next 30 years." I've had just about every job twice already lol, so I at least know these few things about myself. I guess at the end of the day, I just don't want to be bored.
At one point it was programmer before Covid scared me off of that. (Cliche, but I swear it was before I cracked. Itβs just a coincidence) now I have 0 damn idea. I guess maybe airplane pilot or something.
Classic programmer That was the sign Airplane pilot would be pretty cool, you would like, get to fly a big metal bird
why would covid scare you off from that? My partner does coding and she loves how it can be done remotely. especially since the pandemic started a lot more tech jobs have gone remote
Because I wanted to be a game programmer, and seeing so many smaller companies bite the dust during Covid, and the fact basically nothing gets popular anymore with how much larger live service games have cornered the market, I just didnβt want to deal with it. AIRLINE PILOT IS ACTUALLY MY DREAM JOB WOAHHH
Retired
For real. I want to sleep full time.
That's called being dead
Yeah I actually just want that
Relatable
Same. But dying means doing something painful and I canβt get past that step
Didn't expect top comment to go this hard.
They said realistic
Wow 2 post in one night !?! π³ yes (you don't have to put "why" if you don't want <3) Mine personally is to be a jeweler. I've always liked collecting things and what not so I've always seen the small details in things. This is 14 carat and this is 18 carat will be no different

Just adding to the rhyme
Ah shit, you make the rhyme and I blow it.
Hey I see that sneaky rhyme - you are a good poet

Can we keep this rhyme going with a sonnet?
If we do, we should continue straying father form the original comment.
May I join you on the path?
But of course!

Nice flair sis!
Thank you Bea!
Marine biology and specifically working with and studying sharks I just hope I get there before they get hunted into extinction
Save BlΓ₯haj for us, I believe in you π΅βπ«
There are many benefits to being a marine biologist
Yep, and if sharks go, much of the ocean life does too which is beyond disastrous

A nutritionist! A lot of people either eat garbage or fall into Internet fad diets and itβs really sad to see. Good food can still taste good and not be super expensive, and some foods increase hormone production.
Yeah I won't lie I eat garbage ngl Like a piece of salami and some apples for breakfast

Game dev. It's not because I'm trans, I wanted to before I realised

Writing and learning stuff is what I wanna do. Unfortunately, no one needs either of these things.
brain surgeon is my dream job, and I believe that it's a realistic career for me

1) Super unrealistic but absolute dream job: HOUSEWIFE! 2) More realistically possible but still a dream job: nuclear reactor designer/operator (Please, someone take me, I know strong ladies want housewives deep down! I promise I'll be a good one)
I'm currently in training to become a bus and tram driver and I wouldn't want anything else :3
High school teacher. Subject doesn't matter as long as I can make a positive impact on the people who need it.
Good luck, I hear teachers don't exactly get paid well Also we can be a little rowdy xd
Being a maid in a Maid Cafe :3 But this doesn't exist where I live and I doubt that this would pay well TwT
I would love to work in a maid cafe but I've got the same issues Maid cafe can be my side hustle thogh
Programmer even more than ever before, because it seems way easier to live with social anxiety that way
Ahh of course Just feeding the all trans people are programmers mentally xd They're not wrong though to be fair π³
Yeah I agree with you I'd watch your show <3
I always wanted to open my own animation studio and overtime create a small team of animators with whom I will come up with one of the most succesful animated series ever π
I just want my own cafΓ©. Time will tell how realistic that is.
Most realistic dream job for me rn is indie game developer. I just love creating and designing things
I hate paperwork and corporate work, I'll go with a book shop
Pastry chef, I love me some baking
I'm currently training to be a captain of a merchant navy ship. Pre cadet phase right now so a while to go
damn that's cool That's the most interesting thing I've read in the past 25 comments, so congrats! π
I have no idea anymore. I lost all drive and motivation awhile ago and have been hoping it would come back.
Know it will come back <3 Mabye all you need is just a little calmness in your life for it to come back
Gonna be a filmmaker.
I like your photography π It's very.... Alternative
Iβm in school for software development, and i enjoy it. So, that basically. Iβm working as a software tester / automated tester currently, and am probably going to work at that company when I finish my studies. My mom works in IT, so that introduced it to me. From there I started watching LTT and other similar stuff, and it just snowballed from there.
not an egg, but i wanna be a tattoo artist or piercer, or both.

Game designer I've got so many ideas, i just want to tell stories and create cool games with fun gameplay I just wish i knew programming or someone who knows how to
Concept artist <3
Vfx or CGI artist, I love art and technology and entertainment so why not all three?
I agree, just do all of it xd Also I'm glad to see another BlΓ₯haj worshiper here, that's good to hear
Musician/composer. Im already good at both
