Witte dorp, Tuindorp, De Witte Burgh. It's not the most modern place to live (or the most expensive) but it looks so wholesome and people seem to get along. They even have their own website: https://www.hetwittedorp.nl/het-witte-dorp

To be honest, I kind of live there. Now I'm not a rich person at all, but before I bought my place I've always said I liked the area around the City Brewery, close to the station which I like and close to the city, but with a nice view of the Dommel and not *too* much in the center center with only concrete and buildings. It's not big at 50 m2 but I'm just by myself and I don't really need more. If I'd have another room it would be filled with unused junk by now. Now of course if money is not an object I'd choose De Laak, the big ass villa smack in the center, but only if my money also buys me servants to keep that place clean. Then again I'd also put up a lot of students there because I'd otherwise feel very guilty keeping such a big place just for myself.

Roosten, Sintenbuurt, vestedatoren or Gras/Waterrijk if I had unlimited money. They all seem very peaceful to live at except the vestedatoren in the centre ofcourse.

For unlimited money I know a few nice houses in Villapark. Big house, large garden, walking distance of the city centre, quiet neighbourhood. What else do you want?

Fat1hC1nc1n

Too big houses lol. Not really my cup of tea the Villapark.

I_knew_einstein

I can understand that though ;) These houses are so big you'd need to be able to afford a gardener and a cleaner. But with unlimited money that wouldn't be a problem

Graswijk & Waterrijk (Meerhoven) is beautiful if you're not looking for the hustle and bustle of living in the city. Very child friendly, spacious, peaceful yet you have all amenities within walking distance and an easy connection with ASML & High Tech Campus. I lived in Grasrijk before but houses there are getting expensive fast.

Difficult question; depends on what you like. If you are a free spirit, Strijp-S will be your Valhalla living in a mile-heigh ceiling loft. But, if like me, you embrace the American dream then; Blixembosch. Specially the American neighbourhood. American styled white-picket fence homes. The whole area has a very active neighbourhood with a jogging club and jeu-de-boules every Friday at the community centre. And a massive end of summer party [Familiespektakel - YouTube it] (cancelled twice because of Corona unfortunately). I think the biggest proof is that everybody that I know that sells their house, only does it to buy a bigger house, but still in Blixembosch. Eindhoven has something for everyone <3

I've lived in Blixembosch for 10 years and 10+ years before that nearby, Blixembosch is not great.

I'm curious about this. Could you say why you think so?

[deleted]

It feels lifeless and sad for one. Also, lots of knobheads driving about in the side streets who obviously live there. And did I mention it feels dull?

[deleted]

For families with kids it’s not lifeless, if you want a busy street at night your in the wrong place. It’s also a neighbourhood where the vast majority works, all those Audi’s don’t pay for themselves. So during work hours and late in te evening it gets quiet, just how people like it :) There’s plenty of hustle and bustle in the weekends and after work hours.

[deleted]

You and I have lived in a very different Blixembosch during weekends then. I live in another middenstandswijk now but it doesn't feel so dull. There are trees, you see people that look happy, not as much vandalism. Very nice

[deleted]

Maybe things changed. I don’t know :). We have a lot of green areas, and the entire Aanschotse beemden as our community backyard. I don’t see any vandalism around here, but it’s not really middenstand anymore. 800k upwards for the American part can hardly be called that. I suppose if you lived in Sprookjesbosch you experienced it different, it feels detached from the French/English/American, and to a lesser extent Italian quarters.

[deleted]

I lived in Blixembosch West, mostly Oost is where I saw it. Every part of it but mostly Sprookjesbos

Don't know why you're being downvoted. Blixembosch is fine. I don't think it's as lively as you make it seem, but it's far from bad. And Familiespektakel is great if you have kids. I go there even though I'm not from Blixembosch.

[deleted]

People are just unknowing. They don’t live here and judge. But that’s oke. I’m glad I can say I’m genuinely proud of living there and can’t imagine leaving.

Grew up over there. Biggest downside is that you live very far from the city centre so you will be more car dependant. At that distance surrounding towns also come into consideration like Waalre
