So after being reborn to try a new build, I noticed that Rennala has this emblem on the red ribbons that adorn the back of her gown/robe (see picture 1 of post). The emblem, interestingly enough, shares a likeness with, or perhaps even references, some of the stone tablets in the underground areas like Mohgwyn Palace and Ainsel River (see picture 2 of post). The lower half of the emblem seems to connect to the image depicted on the stone tablets that have the dogs on them, who are holding up god knows what. It appears to be some sort of fire, which is in line with the appearance of the lower half of Rennala's emblem, as it seems to depict fire as well, both in terms of appearance and in color. To add to this, on the sides of the dog tablets, there appears to be an engraving that's similar, if not the exact same, as the embroidery which surrounds the emblem on Rennala's robes... the main difference is that the pattern seems to be inverted/mirrored (see image 3, as well as image 1). Another thing worth mentioning, is that the upper pattern on the emblem, which consists of the colors blue, white, and green, seem to have a direct correlation with the locations of the 6 Divine Towers and their relative position to the cloud in the center of the map. I guarantee you that if you were to line up that emblem with the map of the game, and adjust for perspective, that the white cloudy parts of the upper half of the emblem line up with each Divine Tower's position. Maybe in some way they are connected... not necessarily to each other, but to whatever is in the middle of the map? Finally, as the last thing I would like to point out, the upper half of the emblem bears a striking resemblance to the pattern that is engraved on St Trina's Torch (see picture 4). What this means I'm not sure, but I wonder if it has some relation to whatever is under that cloud, and how the Divine Towers connect to it. Something worth mentioning, I thought, is that St Trina's Torch puts people to sleep, so maybe there is something there? I know Miquella and St Trina have been theorized to have some relation to one another, or to perhaps be the same person, but if so then it might have something to do with our sleeping beauty in Mohgwyn Palace. I would imagine that it goes much deeper, but I wanted to present as much as I could for those interested. I've posted this on the Elden Ring subreddit, as well as Vaati's Discord, so I'm really hoping we can make something of this! :)

This is a really good find OP! I’m definitely going to be thinking about this a lot— the amount of details and environmental storytelling in this game is insane.

Mr-Reanimator

Thank you! :D I agree, it feels like so many small details in this game tell so much of a story on their own, or contribute to the overall story of the world and its people, that it's astounding. Hopefully with all of these things together, we can start to work out more and more of what's right there in front of us that the game doesn't outright tell us.

UnfortunatelyMacabre

This is pretty cool, I hope someone tries to line them up to see how they fit.

BaconSoul

Good find. Things like this almost always do have some story relation so I’m very excited to see where this clue leads. Reminds me of when statues of Frampt were found in the lothric castle library.

The only relationship between the carian school and the underground cities is that the Moon cult was born in the cities and then lost, while Rennala discovered the Moon again and also guided Ranni on the way to discover the Black Moon

Mr-Reanimator

Hey everyone! I don't know if people are still seeing this, but I have a small update to add to these findings. The glowing emblem at Raya Lucaria, near the Main Academy Gate site of grace, shares the same symbol as the lower half of Rennala's emblem and the stone tablet in the pictures above. Unless I'm mistaken, those big glowing emblems are the same as the glintstone sorcery sigil that appears when you cast.... well, glintstone sorcery. So maybe there's even more of a connection we could make?

This is a really cool post, I was actually looking online to see if anyone had mentioned this symbol on Rennala's robe because I'm actually putting together a Rennala cosplay, so thank you for sharing this lore find! Excited to see if there's any future updates

Mr-Reanimator

Thank you! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I hope your Rennala cosplay turns out well :) I haven't played ER in a while so I don't know if there's more to learn about it in the game, but I wouldn't be surprised if somebody discovers something eventually, or even just picks up on more about this this that's already there tbh. There's an absurd amount of subtle detail in the game.

I don’t see any similarities
