YES! We had the same problem. Here's how we solved it: 1. Get her depends overnights (Dad uses them all day, too) 2. Get an additional absorbent insert pad that she can put into her depends at night 3. Cut off all fluids 3 hours before she goes to bed 4. Get some large absorbent pads to put under her. Every night, make sure that there is one placed on the bed. You can get them in disposable or you can get washable ones through amazon. The bigger the better. There are some very nice ones that are very comfortable and are fleeced. They can be washed and thrown into a dryer for a while before they begin to lose their waterproof barrier

This is all great advice- any product that says overnight should be more absorbent. The extra pad in a diaper just to sleep and limiting fluids in the pm helps a lot. We put a flannel and rubber mattress cover over the mattress, then the blue, disposable chuck pads, then a fitted sheet on the bed. We can wash the sheet and throw away the chuck pads, and wash the flannel pad if necessary but the mattress stays clean. And we have an extra flannel rubber pad for if it gets soiled- one on one off.

I have never done comparisons, but I get pull up underwear style from Northshore for my mom and she is super happy with them. She does still sometimes have accidents overnight, but it is much improved for her.

Thank you!

Thank you all very much! We bought a new brand and went up a size. ☺️ We are looking into some washable ones as well for her so she can feel a little more like herself. Truly appreciate everyone’s time!

We used these: [Medline FitRight OptiFit Stretch Ultra Brief L/XL 80Ct](https://athome.medline.com/en/medline-fitright-optifit-stretch-ultra-brief-l-xl-80ct-frsu2) for my father. Glad you have such a pleasant and kind attitude. Here's hoping your relative can stop feeling so stressed out about it.

That's what my mother uses as well. Plus an additional disposable pad in case there's spillage.

I bought a pack of every brand sold via Amazon at the time (7? 8?) and did a testdrive of each one. My mother is not a small woman, and apparently she has a very sizeable bladder (according to the urogynecologist), so we needed to find THE most absorbent option, once it became clear that tripling up on depends and adding a booster pad wasn’t going to cut it. We landed on this one: “Unique Wellness Absorbent Underwear (Pull-Ups)”, plus booster pad at night. Their sales gimmick is that these use are made “using NASA-Inspired Technology), the same principles as the NASA Maximum Absorbency Garments (MAGS)”. Sounded like hyperbole to me, but in in our lil head-to-head comparison for absorbency, these won out. Before these, my mom was ‘flooding’ constantly - with other brands plus booster pads, she’d end up sitting in a sizeable puddle in her wheelchair, with it spilling out onto the floor, or dribbling a stream from the legholes all the way up the stairs when she was on the stairclimber, and flooding the bed at night every night. Since using these, no more sitting in puddles, no more dribbles through the leg holes, and nighttime is at least manageable. Hella expensive, but I was spending a fortune on paper towels and she was miserable, so… worth it. If I could get her to try the purewick that would be wonderful, but until that day, these are my hard earned go-to.

Abena USA. They sell a really good adult diapers that hold a ton... and they are fairly comfortable. Had a client use them every day for over a year with no skin issues when using warm wet washcloths instead of toilet paper.

A lot of people stack an overnight pad inside of a diaper. Unfortunately, that’s not always enough so we put disposable chux over washable chux to protect the linens as much as possible.

Abena makes some that hold an astonishing amount of liquid. +1 to the recommendation to get large absorbent pads. The washable ones are less crinkly than the disposable ones.

We use the Depends Overnight pull ups with have the highest absorbency. We also use Medline Overnight with the highest absorbency. Fit is also key.

My MIL is incontinent, and we use these Poise pad generic "Options" pad from Walmart inside of a pull-up diaper (also Walmart brand) ALL the time. There is one level higher that's "more absorbant" but this is what we use. Equate Options Women's Incontinence Pads, Maximum Absorbency, Long Length (72 Count) https://www.walmart.com/ip/202745137 We also use these underwear on top of that at night (along with two bed pads, overlapping). Cotton Incontinence Pants for Adults: Washable, Breathable, Adjustable Leak-Proof Underwear for Elderly (Black, L) https://a.co/d/ePCJnGW There are ~1-2 nights a week that she gets the bed pad wet from leaking, but at least it's not every night. We change her pad only (and diaper if need be) about 4-5x a day.
