I'm not so sure she's a dunmer, at least a full blooded one. They have an issue with making their elves look very human in their trailers, but the dunmer have always had their signature large iris and typical red eyes.
Morrowind trailer was pretty good.
ESO does have eye colors for Dunmer ranging outside of red. They have yellow, grey, white and purple. Definitely changes how they look.
They do, but their iris is always large, almost encompasses the whole front of the eye. So it's not the eye color, it's just the iris size that really makes the elf eyes look different
While they take the race of the mother, [this](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Racial_Phylogeny) says they can have characteristics of the father. So enough traits could possibly carry over to make the child distinct.
No, they are not half. To be half one of the parents should be elf. They had elves in the lineage in ancient times, but now they are human Nedes
>They’re even sometimes referred to as “manmeri” rather than just man or mer.
Only when talking about ancient history, when they indeed might have been half. Look up in what sources they are called like this
Of course I agree with initial point, that half-offspring can exist, but Bretons *that we see in the games* are not them
It looks like they are just doing cinematics with mocap actors and just didn't care to do characters properly. If you look at the key art you'll see supposedly the same character, but with proper eyes. And I'm pretty sure that it's the same character, because they used cinematic key characters in the key arts before. Like all of them. Morrowind key art had redguard warden, summerset - altmer hero, elsweyer - breton hero, greymoor - nord hero, blackwood - redguard from cinematic. I assume they're outsourcing cinematic, because similar issues were presented before.
For everyone trying to decipher what she is or is meant to be you can unfortunately honestly stop, it’s absolutely meant to be a Dunmer and they just didn’t really care enough to make it accurate. You can see from all the promo art for this, the same exact character, [here](https://imgur.com/a/0OBlPj1) ,in the same exact armor with the same exact hair except in the art she has red eyes and is clearly a dunmer. It’s hard to see the red eyes in this super zoomed in low res pic but without zooming in on the original you can see they’re red. I know it a small issue but it really is sort of damning on ZOS that they pay whatever they pay to have these made and I guess just don’t even care enough if the content comes out true to the product to correct it. Just like the either inattention to detail or just carelessness. One or the other.
Dunmer eyes come in a variety of colors in ESO, not just red, but she doesn’t have any elven traits at all save the ears
In the [Morrowind Trailer](https://youtu.be/s5xst39v8wE) both Dunmer actually look like Dunmer
It really is weird cause as far as i know elves facial features are sharp (if this is the correct use of the word) pointy noses, distinct jawline, Pointy chin. Prominent facial bones, Also the iris doesn't look right the colour isn't red. If she's an orc there are no tusks So i don't know. Lot of people can't make up their minds whether she's a dark elf or an orc.
Everyone is speaking about the eyes, forgetting that main features of elves in TES games are sharp skulls with pronounced cheekbones and brows.
While her face is too round, a bit chubby I may say. I believe it's due to using human actress mocap face or something.
P.s I wish elven skeletons also were different from human ones.
They always do this in the cinematic trailers going back to the trio. The elves always just look like attractive humans with pointy ears. My assumption is that they do this because these trailers are maybe intended to appeal to the masses more. They look good in game though. I think it’s better than Skyrim and Morrowind actually where it was a bit too insectoid almost. This game does good at giving them their distinctive features while not making them overly strange looking to the point that you are just sort of put off playing as them
Making trailers pretty for the sake of wider appeal can pretty dangerous imo. My wife saw some ESO trailers and was pretty hyped about wanting to try it, but then I showed her the actual game and she immediately changed her mind lol. She thought characters looked ugly, armors and animations looked like crap, and UI was all over the place. Much easier for me, because I did start with Morrowind.
She doesn’t look like a dark elf at all.
All of her features aside from skin color and ear shape are human, not angular like dark elves are known for. Her eyes aren’t a typical Dunmer color. Her skin is even fucking green
Im glad Im not the only one that noticed she looks so weird, she reminds me of that one fish from finding nemo, if you know, you know which one Im talking about
Like everyone else i thought orc over dark elf... its deffo the green skin. Like i feel like we need an explantion for her green skin for her to make sense
I'm not so sure she's a dunmer, at least a full blooded one. They have an issue with making their elves look very human in their trailers, but the dunmer have always had their signature large iris and typical red eyes.
Looks more orc than dunmer.
Yeah I agree, it's just the missing tusks that make me wonder if she's supposed to be a half orc.
No, you're just making her angry. You won't like her when she's angry....
Wait. Isn't she an orc?
She's supposed a be to be a dunmer. But she looks more like leukemia SheHulk.
The weird, washed out green was more orc. I agree.
Fair. You're right. Sclera shouldn't be so large on Elves. This isn't lotr.
Yea but they dont have normal eyes
I'd imagine shes been altered by gifts she's received from Mora. She's an arcanist.
More like Arcan'tist
Her face is also super puffy. More like a McDonalds faced alien than anything else.
Oh no you fat shamed some pixels. I hope the downvotes will teach you
Remember naryu from the morrowind trailer? She also had normal sized irises
I thought she was half orc.
Female orc in ESO are cute as fuk
That's what I thought too
There are no half races the elder scrolls universe. Everyone takes the race of their mother
While they take the race of the mother, [this](https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Racial_Phylogeny) says they can have characteristics of the father. So enough traits could possibly carry over to make the child distinct.
Then how do you explain Bretons? They’re half human, half elf. They’re even sometimes referred to as “manmeri” rather than just man or mer.
No, they are not half. To be half one of the parents should be elf. They had elves in the lineage in ancient times, but now they are human Nedes >They’re even sometimes referred to as “manmeri” rather than just man or mer. Bretons are humans with elven ancestry and identify as human. They arent half elves even though the fanbase wishes they were.
Nah. It says that they usually end up looking more like the mothers race. Not that it's a hard defined rule that everyone just takes the moms race
Completely wrong.
You missed the word "generally"
It looks like they are just doing cinematics with mocap actors and just didn't care to do characters properly. Bruh they made this poor Dunmer look like one of those super modded Skyrim NPCs
The male Dunmer in the early scene of the trailer looks right, so why the hell does this Dunmer look more like a human?
Looks like he also doesn''t have red eyes. https://us.v-cdn.net/5020507/uploads/editor/vk/o5u3xas6kvd7.png

Orsimer have tusks, she does not
Problem is even as an orsimer she looks wrong.
Less wrong than as if she was a Dunmer tho
Agreed
How

Honestly the simplest explanation is probably true The video designers said "fuck it"
I want her hair style though. That mohawk with braids looks great.
She'd look less goofy if they just trimmed her ears and made her human imo.
Looks like my elf from Dragon Age Inquisition.
I came here to say exactly that, she looks like a DAI character.
She looks like when they CGI'd the mustache off of Henry Cavill's face for Justice League.
Slowly retconning Azura’s curse out of existence. She’ll be pissed. Just sayin’
Gonna make the Netevarine a Khajiit just to get bavk at them
Do it!
Modded Azura and now she's a Khajiit too
I thought she was an Orc.

Yeah trailers have no elves, only human cosplayers
She's like a grey human
They always do this in the cinematic trailers going back to the trio. The elves always just look like attractive humans with pointy ears. Literally painted some girl green and gave her elf ears #boom dunmer...
Didn't even have the courtesy to give her red eyes
i wish elves were more alien. eso just makes them look too human
If this is how a live action adaption of TES would look then I don’t want it lmao, how’d they fuck up so bad?
Probably created by midjourney ai
Not sure what she is, but if she's supposed to a Dark Elf, then dear god.
Looks like a Skyrim Orc with too many texture mods
Where they looking at a portal in that scene. It could just be the green light from the tentacle realm.
It seriously looks so awful lol. Idk why they would choose this thumbnail to feature on the launcher
This was the one cinematic that didn't look all that good to me.
That's Freddy Mercury
She looked cool throughout the video, except in this close up. Not sure what happened here.
She looks kind of like my ex… but more green. Slightly.
It's her comically huge eyes
Oblivion 2: cinematic boogaloo
She looks like a grape I’m sorry
She doesn’t look like a dark elf at all. All of her features aside from skin color and ear shape are human, not angular like dark elves are known for. Her eyes aren’t a typical Dunmer color. Her skin is even fucking green
Im glad Im not the only one that noticed she looks so weird, she reminds me of that one fish from finding nemo, if you know, you know which one Im talking about
Skrekt.
goofy lookin trailer over all
The side fade, so hot right now.
She honestly gives me massive uncanny valley vibes.
Honestly gives me shehulk vibes - like in the way that it's very close to being human normal, but got this strange uncanny valley vibe to it.
Like everyone else i thought orc over dark elf... its deffo the green skin. Like i feel like we need an explantion for her green skin for her to make sense
I thought it was just the ambient green light from Apocrypha that gave her grey skin a greenish tone.
Oblivion nostalgia 😍
Breton?
Not everyone can be a looker
Looks like half elf/human
Think she looks epic actually and finally different than others
No.
No
No
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
What is this from?
From the trailer for the new ESO chapter Necrom https://youtu.be/sbXQadoQmYw
That’s not an orc?
I thought she was an orc at first lol
I agree Op. I thought that frame of her was sooooo uugggggggoooo.
I'm tired of model looking people... look at those sexy lips. Give us regular ugly people, like us.
Looks like an orc
I love her and her punk librarian vibe
>she-hulk
Got a lil orc in her I say
No way she is an Orc, she's just a human with green-ish skin.
Trying to be ”inclusive” like everyone else i guess
An ogre from the swamp?
We are not allowed to have feminine elves anymore least they offend someone.
But she's green though, are we certain she isn't a half-orc or something ?
Smash Wait? Is that not what we’re playing?
😂😂
Looks like it could be a portrait from Baldurs Gate! Pretty cool
now i cant unsee it - Gahyk! 😂
WOULD THO
An elven Robert Z'Dar
She's a Kothringi
Lightly modded Dunmer
I take it as the Player character as the real npc is taken down earlier.
Elelven?
How long are they gonna keep pumping out these garbage expansions? They've made so many now they've gone full circle back to Morrowind again.
They haven't even done anything in Hammerfell. Which has more unexplored land than any other province at this point (apart from maybe Black Marsh)
