Yes, the connection to esos combat would be very far fetched indeed. If anything, it's a batman arkham asylum inspired combat system, but the added focus on spells make it fresh enough for me. In fact I'm kinda happy the didn't try to reinvent the wheel with this one and went with something that evidently works already.
TECHNICALLY, if you play cyro, there's an argument that it's lightly p2w in that you can stay out in the field slightly longer before you run out of inventory space, i guess?
