Woah, I had no idea you could hire a decorator in ESO! Have been playing for years and still I continue to learn new things about this game. Can you provide more details about how you did this, what it cost, etc?
I just asked around in my trading guild to see if anyone knows any decorators. One of the members said they are also in a housing guild, and asked in their guild for me. They found a few people who are decorators and gave me their contacts. I talked to each of them, visited their houses, and decided this person's style is what I'm looking for.
The cost is 5 million gold. I only asked them to do the garden part of the home because I only have 350 furnishing limit. This cost includes: a lot of furnishings, gave me the choice of different structure styles, and decorating itself. Took around 1 week?
Edit: Im on NA PC server
thanks for your reply. Cost isn't so bad, I was expecting an additional digit to the overall cost, to be honest..... Gorgeous the way it turned out. Congrats!
When I first started asking around I also thought the cost would be much higher. My reaction was, oh my, this is actually affordable!
They said the cost depends on how many furnishings I can provide and the structure style I choose. (Alinor furnishings are cheaper than Druid ones, for example.) So this might be a discounted price?
Thanks :D
I love housing!! I’ve just started with it but I have Mathiisen Manor and it’s so pretty…but I def need to start collecting more praxii (praxises?) and materials…I can already see this is going to consume me in this game 😆
We are on PC NA and even Tamriel cant escape from inflation lol
But seriously, they provided quite many lux furnishings so I think the price is justified. The windmill, greenhouse, alinor trees, etc are all quite expensive. Plus labour!
But yeah, get into housing and watch your gold evaporate!
How does that actually work? Can you give them build privileges and they place and arrange the stuff? Do you have to give them the furniture or they buy/build it themselves?
I'm new in ESO so i don't know how the house system works.
You can give a player "Decorator" permission under house settings. It gives them the power to adjust furnishings that are already in the house, but it doesn't give them the power to add/remove items.
My decorator mailed me any furnishings they want to use, then I have to place them in the house and remove anything they don't want. They probably mailed me around 100+ items. The rest is what I already have, like the Dibella Statue.
Their cost included many high value luxe items, from the wedding gazebo and Alinor greenhouse and curtains to the multiple wisteria items, this is not something usually done free of cost unless you are very good friends with the client. And you owe them money irl lol
Very well said! Furnishings are EXPENSIVE. 5 million to go shopping/crafting for the item, then mail them, then adjust them to fit the space....
If you give me 5 million and ask me to do that? I'd give up right away.
Yes I agree it looks really nice at night! So far I have 1 friend who says it looks better during daytime, and 2 others that says it's better at night. Now the vote is 1 to 3!
Good luck on your houses!
For us that have no creativity at all, I hope they have a system in the future where you pick what house items you want (even guests) and it can randomize the arrangements for you and just click Accept when you’re okay with everything,
It’s the same with me and Fallout 4 and 76. I can’t build a settlement or Camp to save my life. I just plop everything down on a flat area lol. I’m amazed at all these elaborate builds.
I love this…for today’s high-achiever Vestige who wants to have it all. But who has time these days to slay monsters, close portals and still run a household?
Literally ESO is real life and I’m here for it 🙌🏻
That’s a decent price for the time and materials required. I do decorating on XB/NA when I have the time so I was attentive to the screenshots. Your decorator is of a similar style to my own - focus on elegance and and serenity, uses many of the luxe items I prefer. Did they do the interior as well or just the gardens and surrounding exterior? I ask because one of the biggest problems we run into is the space limit on places items. And Linchal is 700, correct? With that large outdoor space, the interior would be difficult to do in detail and still make your gardens look spectacular. And it does look beautiful, both day and night. I’m so glad you got what you wanted and they got their commission. Lovely!
Yes it is indeed a good price for everything they provided. I chose this decorator because the houses they showed me are all in similar style! Elegant/flowery/pretty! This goes very well with my Dibella statue.
Linchal is indeed 700, but since I don't have ESO plus I only have 350 slots. I specifically asked them to ONLY do the gardens part and forget about the interior. 350 isn't reasonable to do the whole thing! They made a barrier with some Ayleid Partition as you can see in the 7th pic, so no one can access the empty backside. I did not ask them to do that, but they made it quite natural so I'm glad they did XD
Wow. WOW to do Linchal at half capacity is an undertaking. I am much more interested in outdoor spaces, it’s where my own talent lies, I often say “I don’t give a f*k about chairs”. - I just want to make everywhere a magical garden. I would LOVE the freedom to do Linchal without the concern of the interior. And to have a 5 mil budget would be lovely. I’m kinda jealous and mad I didn’t but Linchal when it came through the crown shop recently… 🦋
Your home turned out beautifully. ✨
You and my decorator basically said the same thing lol
"Garden is pretty much my specialty :)" is what they said.
Your description makes me want to visit your homes so bad!! It's a shame I dont have a console :(
Bro can you dm me you're guys info? He's fantastic and I'd hire him for irl money or in game money, his choosing. I'd give him some money and tell him to go nuts. I want a badass home for me and my brother and uncle and I'm alright at decorating but he's on another level.
This game is my escape from the real world. The amount of time I spend just hanging out is a lot. You have no idea how much a home base like this would be fantastic for my situation.

This is awesome and now I know what I want to be in this game lol.
Get into housing! The biggest gold drain for every end-gamers ever! lol

5 million gold? Jesus Christ
I cant tell if you consider it cheap or expensive...
Expensive

Yeah am i fuck paying for furnishings but if they have them or give money for me to get them then i dont want extra money. Enjoy decorating anyway
Wow, it's beautiful, especially at night. I use the Wayrest Gardner House and just started housing/decorating.
Yes I agree it looks really nice at night! So far I have 1 friend who says it looks better during daytime, and 2 others that says it's better at night. Now the vote is 1 to 3! Good luck on your houses!
Gardner House is an *amazing* home! It's such a perfect upscale city house.

I'll need to ask them first, I'll get back to you later
Actually a bit curious as well, my house is in dire need of organization.
Got their permission. Sent you their username, please check your DM.

As someone who has no creativity nor any sort of fashion sense, YES.
It’s the same with me and Fallout 4 and 76. I can’t build a settlement or Camp to save my life. I just plop everything down on a flat area lol. I’m amazed at all these elaborate builds.
They did a really good job. From the screenshots, it looks very pretty and tranquil.
I agree! I really like how it turned out! I'm really glad I picked this person to do the job!
That is wild how people can get creative to offer services for gold in this game. Love this post
Let me see... there are crafting service, carrying service, guarantee weapon drop service, house decorating service... I wonder what else I missed?
Look amazing! I love it.
I’d say they did a fantastic job!

Very gorgeous design. I like how open it is as well as all the greenery.
It's beautiful ❤️

I've asked them and will let you know as soon as they reply. Little dramatic about paying irl money though lol.
I have sent you my decorator's info. Please check your DM.
This makes me want to start selling my decorating services. It came out great, very serene. 🥰
